A literally very quick and dirty wrist shot of my newest incoming Seiko 7A38. Yes I've actually bought one - for the first time in ages ! :D

This postman delivered it about half an hour ago, so it's pretty much in 'as received' condition .... or at least the watch head is.

I bought it on eBay at the weekend. It came on a non-original leather strap, and in retrospect I probably paid over the odds for it. :/

I've just fitted it with the correct Seiko p/n B1615S bracelet, which I had ready and waiting for it's arrival. It's a 7A38-727B SAA149J.

I've had one in my collection for 3 years and more, that I re-built from two gash watches, but I've never been completely happy with it.

This example is still far from mint, but even without me cleaning it up, it's better than the one I already had, which is what matters. :)

Erm, let's try that again, shall we. Slightly cleaner this time - without the smeary smudge on the crystal right over the date window.

I managed to grab this quick wrist shot earlier - between the showers. My 7A38-706A on TSS Watchworx Aerosport Mk2 strap.

Excuse the odd bits of lint. I had to wipe the raindrops off the crystal, and then forgot to give it another go with the dust puffer.

A real 'warts and all' shot of my Sunday morning 'beater' - Orient J39725-70 'Panda' on 'generic' stainless bracelet. Pretty it ain't. :(

I dug out my favourite modded 7A38-7070 (fitted with an all-black 709L dial from a 7A38-7080) this morning ....

I wanted to check the condition of the bezel insert. There's been discussion on the forum (and elsewhere) recently about the need for reproduction bezel inserts. The general lack of response appears to indicate apathy. Well I reckon I don't actually need any myself. :D

Here's a literally quick and dirty 'as received' shot of my newest incoming 7A38 - another rare variation of the gold-tone 7A38-706A.

With special thanks to recently-joined forum member, George (d2ok13) for helping extricate it from the clutches of a Romanian seller.

It's been a while since I wore anything other than a Citizen or Casio, but today felt like a good day for this:

Here we go, my introduction to Yema ownership. An N8 1X26 on a US Military issue strap. (Just for the time being, till I find a suitable leather strap and Yema buckle.) Thanks again, Paul!

Sorry for the dismal photo. Thunderstorms and smoke from a forest fire in the air.

Well, I was hoping that he was going to register and post his own wrist shot, but I guess he's busy at work, in the S/W sweatshop

..... because that other new owner of a 7A38-706A emailed me his photo instead.

   Happy Birthday Vaughan !

Wear it in good health, my friend - and for all your efforts with the clock and help with the site over the last few months.

Temp is only 92degF. Paul in.......

Wow, the last two pictures were taken at the exact time, halfway across the globe. And the first exactly one hour before!.....hmm..

Right. The second picture was taken at 1104BST, then minus 8hrs = 0304PST, so I'm thinking they were taken at the exact same instant. (Spot me +29sec?) Paul @ -7GMT..plus 1hr correction for day light savings time.

Yeh, You're right, of course, Paul. :P

Put it down to the heat (and slight case of brane fade on my part).   It's only 90°F (32°C) over here. Paul in sweltering Swindon.
