Seiko 7A38 - by the numbers

Paul-just enough gold-    I have one coming, a  SAMPLE , maybe just maybe I'll get a running Mvt. in her. 

Picked up a new Feiko bracelet.

7A28-7049. Just gave her a quick bath with some Simple Green and luke-warm water.

I now have a little colour in my collection.    Found on Ebay:  a nice 7A28-703A  from  July 1983.

This was the only way for me to have Roman numerals, since Paul has the market covered on available 7A38-728A with Roman numerals! 7A38-7069 case with a 7A38-7289 dial / movement. (My first Franken, from last April.)

Nice Paul, great background !     ------  I just built a Franken  from a Sample case 7A38-7069 (gray dial) --I used white  dial and Mvt.  from a 7289 and a band ( buffed gold off ) from a 7A28-7020.  NO watches were harmed---Bits and parts laying around so I purchased the SAMPLE case to use the extras on       Clean original crystal, pushers  smooth      Need to get hand on 30 min counter straight though  

Very nice Don, and subtle. So,effectively, a James Bond with day date and a touch of gold.....I like that. 

My newest Seiko 7A38-7270 and my third. 

With so many of these to choose from - my 10th (incoming) 43mm Yema Spationaute III Aragatz will hopefully soon to be winging its way from Lithuania (don't ask)  I hadn't worn my old favourite 'Grande Bleu' in a while.  Got it out and gave it an airing today.

This morning a Seiko 7A28-6000  JDM "Bishop"      Found on ebay for $ 106.44  with missing pusher blocks and described as NOT keeping time.  I did my "magic" and all functions working correctly now    A real " klunker on the wrist "  

That I'm wearing yet another Yema Spationaute III Aragatz (my 10th) this morning - and which one, shouldn't come as a surprise ....

Apart possibly from the timeframe involved - nearly 3 months. It's the one that was first listed on Kijiji.it, back in December last year.

It finally arrived in yesterday's post - by a rather convoluted route (eventually via Lithuania), but I'm not going to post details here. 

As received, it's still currently fitted with the distinctive REWA perforated leather strap, which I'm gradually warming to. 

This one was definitely worth the logistical effort involved - and the waiting. 

Finally received my 7A38-6010 "Dinky Diver" this afternoon.

The watch is in great shape.Tiny scratches on the crystal, which you can hardly see. Light rubbing of the black chrome coating. It's got Patina!.....I like Patina!

38MM to 40MM is the perfect size for me. That's why I love my Seiko RAF GEN 1. 43MM just looks like a wall clock on my arm! 

I wear this 7A28-7040 every day; it ticks virtually every box for me. 

Apparently today is National Pi day.  So I thought I'd do my bit by wearing a slide rule watch with the π symbol on the bezel.

Not my most recently acquired almost mint example, but my what has now become my second string Yema N8 Flygraf. 

I found a grey shirt in my wardrobe so it was pretty obvious that I will wear the 7A38-701A with it

@ Arpie---Nice and crisp that 701A       Here are a couple photo's of a " Franken "        A 7A38-7029 dial & mvt. in a well worn 7A38-725A case and band.   The original 725A  mvt. went to my "battery eating "  725A as well as 3 band links.  I got the left over parts  back on my wrist using an "extra" 7029 mvt. and a band extender.     What a mess
