Seiko 7A38 - by the numbers

My B-team 'Ripley' today:

Something plain and simple for a change - and 7A38's don't come much plainer or simpler than the stainless 7A38-7190 SAA053J.

Otherwise known as 'the Argos catalogue special'. This is my lesser of two examples, with the slightly scabby 30 minute sub-dial.

Saturday and another Yema Spationaute III - on a different ZRC 'double jonc' blue leather strap rather than my usual Fleurus shark.

My YEMA N81W63  (Seiko 7A38 )  arrived yesterday  ---- Everything works !   Almost NOS except the band has been replaced with a longer Speidel lizard strap.  This watch has much bling and is hard to photograph.

A wrist pocket shot of my newest - a Seiko 7A38-725A   ( scratch on crystal and short band seem to be only flaws -- I installed a clasp extender--Taking some stress off the fragile band. 

Today a JDM Seiko 7A48-7000  bought from a seller "down-under"    Dial  printed "Seiko"  &  "Quartz" only, for the JDM market . The 7A48's shipped to the USA were printed with "Chronograph" and "Sports 100" - Also the JDM band did not have gold sections.  

Nice pick-up Don.  I know how you like that blue sticky stuff.

Just a couple of Q&D 'warts and all' shots of my recently acquired Racer / Orient J39024-50 'beater' resto' project, which I finished nailing back together this morning. With many thanks to David ('Frenchy') for helping me to rescue this one. I think it was worth it.

in honour of the 26th anniversary of Jean Loup Chretien's then record 5h 57m EVA, this day in 1988.

This Seiko 7A38-7270 arrived today.  A good buy off Ebay for $71.00 US    It is near NOS with oval inspection sticker on case back. 

Dark, dreary and overcast for two days! This is deplorable! Hence an all black 7A38-7290 - with "Patina".

Wearing my 7A38-6000 'Dinky Diver' on vintage Seiko 'Beads of Rice' bracelet today. Still not fitted that NOS bezel yet. 

A bit more bling to brighten up an otherwise dull overcast Sunday afternoon. We three Rings of Orient are.  My J39909-80.
