This 7A38-7070 in average worn condition, was listed by a German eBay seller at lunchtime today, as a 7-day auction, with an opening bid price of 49 Euros.

The above 7-day German eBay auction for a 7A38-7070 ended a few moments ago, selling for 246 Euros after 36 bids.

This suspect looking 7A38-7070, fitted with a non-original replacement bracelet was listed earlier this evening by a Brazilian eBay seller with a Buy-it-Now price of $300. Sounds cheap perhaps ? Still probably best avoided. Check out the not so subtle re-luming of the hour and minute hands for starters. Something less obvious (and maybe I'm wrong), but the bezel looks like it's possibly off a 7A28-7040 / -7049.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183668390942

That the watch has been 'messed with' should come as no surprise. The Brazilian eBay seller denguinho is, of course, our 'old friend' and arch watch botcher, watches.br masquerading under a new ID. The format of the multi-coloured description and frequent use of the word 'impeccable' are dead giveaways. If you want to see some of their earlier efforts, check out this thread in the eBay section.

A rather nice, almost mint condition 7A38-7070 was listed last night by a US eBay seller, with a possibly over-ambitious Buy-it-Now price of $600. As soon as I saw the seller's photos and scan read the description, I immediately got that Déjà Vu feeling. This watch has of course featured earlier in thread, in some detail, starting when it first appeared in this FS advert on SCWF Trading Post in March 2017. I'm not going to bother with any quotes (partial or otherwise). If you want to read the prior sales history, it's all there, about halfway down page 2.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233127812840

This watch is all original, complete with full bracelet, and works perfectly including the day/date & chronograph.

There are a few small marks: a pressure spot on the bezel insert, a rub mark near the clasp, and a mark on the case back. The caseback has remnants of the original protective sticker/film which may be rubbed off if desired.

With the exception of those small marks, this watch is as pictured in excellent condition.

Everything on this watch is original and has never been refinished, modified, etc.

Please free feel to ask any questions and of course to make an offer.

USA buyers only at this time please.

From one extreme to the other.  This well-worn 7A38-7070, in dire need of some TLC, missing its crown (remnant of broken stem) and with manky lume and stated chronograph issues, was listed earlier this afternoon by a UK eBay seller, as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of £99.99.

The US eBay seller re-listed that almost mint 7A38-7070, subject of my penultimate post, late last night, with the Buy-it-Now price reduced from $600 to $525, but now with the 'Make Offer' option removed.

That almost mint 7A38-7070 remains unsold. The US eBay seller re-listed it again, late last night, with the Buy-it-Now price further reduced to $475 and still no 'Make Offer' option.

The almost mint 7A38-7070 listed by a US eBay seller sold about 15 minutes ago, for the reduced Buy-it-Now price of $475. I'm just rather surprised that it actually hung around that long before someone snapped it up. :/

This 7A38-7070, fitted with a non-original replacement Seiko bracelet, was listed at lunchtime today by a UK eBay seller, with a 'pie-in-the-sky' Buy-it-Now price of £415. It's not possible to conclusively identify the bracelet fitted (the stampings are conveniently out of focus in the seller's case-back photo), but it looks distinctly like a Seiko p/n B1170S, normally found on the stainless 7A38-7000. A well worn one at that. The seller exwharf is a member of this forum (Mithra) who really ought to know better than misrepresent stuff in this manner.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132966106940

A really nice condition Seiko 7A38-7070 with original bracelet. All things function well. Not repolished or relumed an original watch. So hard to find these that have not had something on them altered. This one is completely correct with rare full coloured bracelet.

Edit: Hah ! By the time I'd finished composing / submitting my original post the seller had already revised his listing, removing the false claims of complete originality and any reference to the bracelet and reducing the Buy-it-Now price from £415 to £375.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132966106940

The revised (much shorter) description now reads:

A really nice condition Seiko 7A38-7070 All things function well. Not repolished or relumed. So hard to find these that have not had something on them altered.

It's still not right though. :P

This well-worn 7A38-7070, fitted with a non-original Seiko bracelet, was listed late last night by a Mexican eBay seller, with a fanciful 'pie-in-the-sky' Buy-it-Now price of $300. The bracelet fitted appears to be a Seiko p/n C022, but I've absolutely no idea what it's off. Note also the numerous plier marks around the 4 o'clock pusher - the sign of a true botcher.

This not so rare 7A38-7070, in average / well worn condition, was listed yesterday evening by a UK eBay seller, as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of £0.99. The seller states that it's in need of repair, but it looks like just a simple matter of sorting out the sticky 10 o'clock pusher (and giving the rest of the watch a good clean). Bidding has moved on somewhat, since I took my screen print yesterday and is currently @ £155.

Well, suspect or not, that 'iffy' 7A38-7070, fitted with a non-original replacement bracelet, listed last month by Brazilian eBay seller denguinho (a.k.a. watches.br), finally sold in the early hours of this morning for the $299.99 Buy-it-Now price.

This 7A38-7070, in average worn condition, fitted with a replacement Yobokies repro' bezel insert, was listed yesterday evening, by a UK seller, with an almost laughable 'pie-in-the-sky' Buy-it-Now price of £525, or the option to make a more sensible, much lower offer. Despite his rosy description, the seller hasn't even bothered to replace the scratched crystal - presumably in the interests of maximizing profit.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401681507314

Having unsuccessfully re-listed it twice (for another 30 days at a time) at the same almost laughable 'pie-in-the-sky' Buy-it-Now price of £525, earlier this evening, UK eBay seller dazzler3369 re-listed his 7A38-7070 once again - this time as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of £340.

This average worn condition 7A38-7070, fitted with a Yobokies repro' bezel insert, and suffering from an errant SEIKO dial logo was listed earlier this afternoon by a German eBay seller, with a Buy-it-Now price of 285 Euros, or the option to make an offer. If the loose logo sounds familiar, you might want to flick back to my series of posts in the lower half of page 9 of this thread. I suspect this may possibly be the same 7A38-7070 sold by German eBay seller silversurfer365 in October last year, but as Carlo nearly always deliberately hides the case-back serial number of watches he sells, I can't be sure.

Versand innerhalb Deutschlands €6, EU Versand ebenfalls möglich.

Paypal only!
