Something a little 'better engineered' today. As one of their period advertising slogans aptly read .... You'll find more parts in the bracelet of this award-winning Thalassa than you will in a Rolls-Royce engine. My Jean Lassale Thalassa 7A74-017 'Swiss Made' Seiko 7Axx.

Seiko's simpler (and somewhat cheaper, by a factor of 6) equivalent, with added 'DAY' function - the stainless 7A38-7289 SAA109J.

@ fmc000: Very nice! Today it´s my 7A38-7030 "look-alike"; a 7T42-7A10 from 1990. It´s all titanium and has a sapphire crystal like it´s prominent predecessor

@ Achim. You have a PM - re: Content. Funnily enough, this afternoon, I'm wearing an old favourite that I posted (as a 'library image' / test upload) on page 1 of this thread .... My 7A38-706A 'beater' on matching dark blue TSS Watchworks Aerosport Mk2 strap:

Great shot, Harry - really nice and sharp ! Kinda reminded me of this photo by your fellow countryman Lester Burnham, which I must try myself sometime. The 'jeans pocket' shot.

Thanks Paul, maybe I'm getting the hang of it. It's not a hand in pocket shot; just forgot to turn the photo.

First race of the 2013 F1 Grand Prix season in Melbourne, Australia today .... so I'm wearing a Cartier Ferrari Formula Cal. 531 '7A38'.
Well done to the winner Kimi Raikkonen (himself an ex-Ferrari driver) and Fernando Alonso Forza Ferrari second !

Wearing what is probably my favourite 7A48, the 7A48-7030:

That first shot of your 7A48 really qualifies for the 'up close and personal' prize, Simon. Super sharp dial part numbers at the bottom. Something to brighten up a dull Monday afternoon. My 7A38-7289 self-built Franken, fitted with 718L dial from a scrapped 7A38-726A.

Started the day with one of my divers but found out it's way too fast, so now back to one of my reliable 7A38-7000's. God, I love them!

Today's watch doesn't bear too close an inspection, but what the heck. I love it anyway.

I was only pulling your leg, Harry - I knew that. However, I was remiss in my choice of 'comparison' photo (Lester Burnham's gold-tone 7A38-7060) that I linked in my previous post. I'd forgotten this photo taken by Achim's wife, of his stainless 7A38-7000, which must surely qualify as the perfect 'jeans pocket shot'.
(With thanks to Achim for the use of his photo). The downside of photos such as these, is that the watch appears 'upside down', but there must be a way around this. Wrong wrist ? In the meantime, this afternoon, I'm wearing my own stainless 7A38-7000 (while I'm working on the forum's 7A38 model specific topic).

Hi Paul, it´s nice to hear that you like this photo. These kind of wristshots give a much better impression of the way the watch looks on your wrist, compared to the "classic" wristshots. Unfortunately I don´t have this watch any longer ...

Second round of the 2013 F1 season in Sepang, Malaysia this morning, though why I bothered getting up early to watch it, I dunno. After Alonso's brane fade, the best that Ferrari could manage was Massa in 5th ! Wearing the obligatory Cartier Ferrari Formula Cal. 531 - in grey to match the colour of the skies, and my mood.
