After a long time a photo of my 7A28-7040; still one of my favourites. It also has the Yobokies bezel insert.

Saad - in future please note that our WRUW thread is intended for wrist shots of 7Axx's, as per my post on the first page:

Before I (re)move Saad's well intentioned post, for not being quite 'in the spirit of' our WRUW thread, I suppose I ought to replace it with something 'suitable'. So here's a Q&D wrist shot of one of my 7A38-706A's on a matching dark navy blue leather strap.

There are not many 7Axx with sunburst dial like the 7A38-706A.

I don´t need day and date today. And also no colours on this rainy Friday.:) (7A28-701A)

This is for Jonas (not 'Mr Jones', but 'JJ') who may eventually get around to joining the forum. ;) Meanwhile, he's been pestering me with all kinds of questions via email. Had me looking in one of my collection boxes earlier today, to check something out before replying to him. It wasn't actually this particular watch, but another 7A38-726x. As I put the other one back in the box, I realized I hadn't worn this lovely condition 7A38-726A in years. :( Picked it up on eBay in June 2009 for less than £40 - it had a fairly common (self-inflicted) fault - indeed, it's described in this other thread. Came fitted with a horrible dark green shark strap, which I quickly swapped tor this cheap tan lizard grain strap as a 'stop gap'. Quote: "Excuse the strap. I was going through a Lizard phase". It's still on there.

Belated Edit:

Added below is a wrist shot Jonas emailed me (taken the same day) of his gold-tone 7A38-7260 now fitted with a tan lizard strap. :)

Wearing another of my favourite 'beaters' today - my 'Dinky Diver' 7A38-6000 fitted with vintage Seiko 'Beads of Rice' bracelet.

The Beads of Rice bracelet fits perfect to the 7A38-6000. :)

7A38-701A for me today.

Today my 7A38-7000 with the exotic, arabic, red Friday.

The7A38-7000 maybe is the model with the most nice details: unusual case design; 3 different case finishes (matt, polished, brushed); a nicely integrated bracelet with black ornaments; a very nice tachymeter and a two-tone dial with chrome-edged subdials and indices.

Fresh off Ebay @ $100 with free shipping :P  As close to NOS as you can get, with all band links. :D  Seiko 7A38-7000 from December 1983. Oops, I need to center the sweep hand. :(  I agree with Gufi above about details on this model. :)

I'm new to the forum and have only just found out about this thread, however it is still Friday here in Colombia.  :)

Here is a new arrival that our host very kindly helped me to locate.  A NOS Yema Spationaute III. This is my first 7A38, having arrived here via an interest in 'space' watches, but I very much doubt that it will be my last...

Suffering from a case of belated (in more ways than one) Monday Morning Blues today. :( Somehow, yesterday morning, I managed to miss an Orient J39701-70 that was albeit very briefly listed on eBay. See the 'J39 pricing' thread which I updated this morning. I dug mine out to compare its condition with the seller's photos and in most aspects, I'm still content with my own example. Except that one I missed yesterday was fitted with the original Orient p/n SA160 bracelet, whereas mine came fitted with a leather strap, which I replaced with one of those cheap and nasty 'Feiko' 20mm aftermarket bracelets, as a 'stop gap' - and for want of anything more suitable. Still, I suppose I should console myself that I paid less than half the price for it. :)

My newest incoming non-Seiko 7A38, which I picked up off eBay Germany a week or so ago - another Jaz Paris N8YZ669 'Panda'. I hadn't worn this one before (it's still in 'as received' condition - on the original Jaz 'mock croc' leather strap), but was talking watches with a neighbour earlier today and quickly grabbed this (and a couple of others, including a Spationaute III) to show him the variety of styles, using this caliber, that were once available.

I may have written previously (erroniously) that the watch case of this particular Jaz N8 model was chrome plated brass. From what I've since learned, I'm pretty certain that it's actually Palladium plated - like the Orient / Racer J39028-70. Although this example was found in Germany, it came with an instruction / warranty booklet (in American English), which confirmed my earlier assumption that these watches were manufactured by C.G.H. for the U.S. export market.

Paul, the Jaz looks ... interresting. ;)

Today it´s the two-tone 7A38-6080 with the silver sunburst dial which is so difficult to catch on a photo.

A very brief outing for my 7A38-705A SAA027J this sunny Sunday spring afternoon. :)

When I first uploaded this photo, for a horrible moment, I thought I'd graunched the bezel rim (near the '10' mark). But thankfully, not. Checking my earlier photos of this watch, those couple of tiny nicks have always been there; I'd just not picked them up before.

PS - the chronograph hands are most definitely orange (not faded to yellow) - it's just a(nother) trick of the light. :P

And while I am at it, a little word of apreciation of 2 franken on the previous page. The 706A with black dial and the rebuild of the Speedtimerkollektion Franken. The speedtimerkollection is really cool and different and yet seiko could have made it. i want one. perhaps more than i want a 7a28 7040 case with the day date complication of the full black 7a38 7080. But that little round black dial beauty...love it too
