Seiko 7A38 - by the numbers

If you browse other watch forums you may have seen quite a few polls on them.

Unfortunately Webs forum software that we're using isn't the best and doesn't even include this fairly basic feature. 

I'd been giving this matter some thought lately - as to which Seiko 7A38's I like wearing most on a regular everyday basis.

I'm not talking about any other brands (my favourite non-Seiko 7A38, by far and away is the Yema Spationaute III Aragatz)  ....

Nor any of my self-built modded Frankens - just pure un-modified Seiko 7A38's.

Here's my personal Top 5:

1) 7A38-706A Stainless / Dark Blue dial (on leather strap)

2) 7A38-7000 Stainless / Black dial

3) 7A38-7280 Stainless / White dial

4) 7A38-7029 Stainless / Taupe dial

5) 7A38-7270 Stainless / Black dial

What's yours ?

Yes, I debated about the 7A38-7010, Simon - but in all honesty I don't like it / wear it enough to include it in a Top 5.

Pretty hard to choose, since I do not own that many 7A38s, but here are the ones I like most, from the least to the most:

5) 7A38-6010 SAA040J - Black Chrome (+G-P) small 'Diver'

4) 7A38-706B SAA084J Two-Tone White

3) 7A38-706A SAA034J Two-Tone Black(ish) dial

2) 7A38-7010

1) 7A38-7060 with silver dial

That's what the WRUW thread is for, Con. Well there's my 5 posted. 

Our tastes not always match, Paul, but I have to agree the 706A on leather strap is stunning indeed. Still, my now gone 6000 remains, to date, my favorite one.

Here are my Top Five 7A38 (with pics  ):

1. 7A38-701A,

2. 7A38-6080,

3. 7A38-7020,

4. 7A38-7000,

5. 7A38-7130

The 7A38-701A I still regard as my "holy grail" concerning the 7Axx. The 7A38-6080 I also really like to wear; great silver dial and very comfortable. The 7A38-7020 I don´t have for a long time, but it will become a nice watch for everyday. The 7A38-7000 is a beauty; the 7A38-7130 too, but not really comfortable to wear.

But I have to say that I´m wearing also my 7A28´s a lot; most notably the 7A28-701A.
