I didn't think that would hang around very long at that price. If you click on the link in the previous post, all you'll see now is:

As mentioned previously, I've seen some crazy, often speculative, prices for Yema Spationaute III's - especially from would-be French sellers - asking prices of 400 or 500 Euros are not uncommon for examples in nice condition. But this one just about takes the biscuit: http://www.watchchrono.com/EN/watch/yema/spationaute_iii/13270.htm
Yours for a mere 950 Euros !

A pair of decent-looking 43mm Yema N8's were listed on LeBonCoin earlier this afternoon: http://www.leboncoin.fr/montres_bijoux/351744234.htm?ca=1_s Montre YEMA spationaute 3 Mise en ligne par david le 5 août à 16:53.

Prix : 260 € Ville : Brest Code postal : 29200 Description : montre YEMA Flygraf trés bon état verre avec légeres rayures fonctionne parfaitement Bit pricey though, at 260 Euros apiece, particularly for the less popular N8 Flygraf, so I doubt they'll sell quickly.

Two US eBay.com auctions for Yema N8's ended this week: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140820421141 Beautiful YEMA of Paris Men's Quartz Watch - Tachymeter, Black Leather Band
A very handsome men's Yema quartz watch. Goldtone case with stainless steel back. Three smaller dials and a date windown. Excellent condition - no chips, cracks, or scratches to the crystal. The case also is in good shape as is the black embossed leather band. Few signs of wear. Just needs a new battery. Guaranteed to run or full refund. The first, a dressy model N81W53, sold on Wednesday 15th August for the low opening bid price of $49.95 (approx. £31.86). The second was a N.O.S. Yema Spationate III model N80P76 (43mm): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190713200456 YEMA Mens SPATIONAUTE III All Stainless Steel Analog Chronograph Strap Watch NIB
YEMA Mens SPATIONAUTE III All Stainless Steel Analog Chronograph Strap Watch NIB Original 1988 MSRP: $475.00
Brand: YEMA - 100% AUTHENTIC Model Number: YN80P76AQ Brand New (NOT Refurbished) in the Box NO RESERVE - The Highest Bidder WILL WIN!
YEMA Men's SPATIONAUTE III All Stainless Steel Analog Chronograph Strap Watch New In Box.
This is a product of the Seiko watch company, which purchased YEMA of Paris in 1988. It uses a restricted Seiko 7A38 multi-function movement and commemorates the mission to space by the first French astronaut to engage in an international spacewalk (from the space station Mir) Jean-Loop Chretien—who wore this model during his Nov., 1988 spacewalk. Some people have said that Seiko bought the company for this opportunity. It is a very rare watch that collectors prize. This striking polished and brushed metal finish all stainless steel Men's watch from Yema's SPATIONAUTE collection has a round recessed analog blue dial with high contrast yellow markers and three black sub-dial (two are part of the Chronograph feature and the third acts as the second hand). The watch also features silver tone luminous hands , day/date calendar in both French and English at the three o'clock position. split time chronograph stopwatch, unidirectional rotating bezel, tachymetre display on the outer edge of the dial, screw down caseback, arched crystal and is water resistant to 10 ATm/100meters. The Yema water resistant navy blue padded leather strap secures with a silver tone buckle. Attractive wooden Yema gift box included! Case Diameter: 43mm; Case Thickness: 13mm; Bracelet Width: 22mm; Bracelet Size: Men's Standard-Length. 90 Day Limited Warranty. Original MSRP: $475.00 (1988 Dollars) The description went on and on ..... Despite the seller's lengthy and enthusiastic description, which was on the whole correct (apologies to Jean-Loup Chrétien) .... The auction only received 66 views over the 7-day listing period. The seller was unfortunately blocking bids from outside USA. And despite the seller's anticipation: Used watches like this have sold for over $750.00. Our watch is brand new but obviously dates from 1988. The watch sold in the early hours of this morning for the opening bid price of $250 (approx. £157.94). Serves him right, I say.

That, incidentally, as far as I can remember, was the first Yema Spationaute III that I've seen listed on eBay in the States. Funny how a half decent eBay listing can soon bring out the copycats. Listed almost simultaneously on Detroit Craigslist: http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/bar/3135066213.html Date: 2012-08-09, 1:48PM EDT Trade YEMA Paris Watch S.Steel 100m Water Resistent, Tachymetre` - $1 (New Baltimore)
The watches features are as follows: It is a YEMA TACHYMETRE` SPATIONAUTE 111 of Paris France, Quartz movement, 100M, Stuller Crocodile leather, Hand made in Italy. Day & Date windows, & much more. I know this is an older watch possibly antique? Not sure how old, it was my wife's grand father's watch. We don have a need, and figured it could find a better home. The estimated value is $525. +- Bring / Call with your tradable Thx !

Perhaps I should amend the original title of this topic - adding on Craigslist (where I'd seen Yemas before), and now Ricardo.ch. (etc). This one - the alternative Roman numeral dial version of model N81W53 (see my prior post above) was only listed yesterday evening: YEMA Paris Elegance Herren / Damen Vergoldet
Sie Bieten auf eine sehr schöne Elegante Herren / Damen Uhr Chronograph von YEMA Paris Vergoldet, wenig Getragen,Batterie sollt Erneuert werden,Ohne Anleitung,Kratzer Frei. Although it's a current auction listing, I don't have any qualms about mentioning it on here, because IMHO, it's fairly unlikely to sell. Not only is this probably the 'girliest' of all the dressy Yema N8's, but with an opening bid price of 150 Swiss Francs, it's expensive. I bought my own identical example - except it was NOS, from Kucimo, almost exactly two years ago - and paid him $67 US, IIRC. http://kucimoinc.blogspot.de/2010/08/yema-with-legendary-seiko-7a38-movement.html

If any member is interested in one of these NOS Yema Spationaute III's, the price is now down to $225 + shipping. They're also available on the early style (very) dark blue shark skin strap:
Drop me a PM for further details of how to order - and get them shipped elsewhere (outside CONUS). Can't guarantee whether the dial lume may be aged / yellowed, and limited quantities only remaining.

A rare variant of Yema Spationaute III, a blue-dialed 38mm 'reduced' (model # N80A66) surfaced on eBay in the States last week. It was in very poor condition, and little better than a parts donor, with battered bezel, chipped crystal and missing hands lume, etc. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320987648889 VERY RARE VINTAGE FRANCE YEMA 100M DIVER CHRONO MEN Watch BID $1 NR USA Free S&H

As far as I'm aware, I feel it's safe to say that, without exception, all Yema N8's left C.G.H.'s Besançon factory fitted with leather straps. However, it's not uncommon to see both 38mm and 43mm Spationaute III's and N8 Flygrafs retrospectively fitted with bracelets. Here's another, which I came across on LeBonCoin this evening: http://www.leboncoin.fr/montres_bijoux/375088171.htm?ca=1_s

A fairly rare (though probably not quite so desirable in most 7A38 collectors' eyes) Yema N8 variant turned up on eBay last week. A Yema model # N81W63 - the very dressy faux Breguet Classique Louis Quinze styled one, with the Navy and metallic White dial: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320991007366 YEMA Paris Chronograph Tachymetre Unique Dial Japan movement Men's Watch
I've an example of one of these in my collection already (without 'Paris' and 'Quartz' on the dial), but with its rather battered watch case and bent lugs, it's always been something of a 'place-holder'. Although not perfect, this one looked a lot better in the seller's photos. So I nailed it.

As you've probably gathered from my previous post, I'm not averse to the odd dressy / blingy (nor totally O.T.T.) I came across another 'jazzy' one, earlier this morning, on eBay in the States - a JAZ Paris N8YZ63. These were actually manufactured by the same company C.G.H. (i.e. Seiko France) as the Yema N8's (hence the N8 model #). http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360493870891 Retro1980's? Men's Gold JAZ Watch Quartz Paris Calender Date Timer Bolted Crown
Jaz is a division of Seico (sic) in Paris, France and highly collectable Watch is used, has scratches and nicks, still beautiful Quartz movement, bolted on crown Watch is 1.5 inches across No paperwork, you will have to figure out the buttons yourself Needs battery I reckon I could just about figure out the buttons myself (without the paperwork - blind-folded even). So I nailed that one too.

For a "Blingy" watch I find that quite nice, with the screwed on faceplate! Excellent find Paul, Knowing all the 7Axx derivatives you do find a bargain or two! I should do the same as I am in desperate need of a couple of 7Axx movements.

They do actually wear quite well for a 'small' 7A38, Chris - they're quite weighty - the cases are (heavily) gold-plated brass. I've got one of these already (for which I paid the princely sum of $20, in March last year), but it has a few issues .... Like a 'stop-gap' replacement sweep hand I've fitted. This one is on the original genuine ostrich strap, too:
The equivalent two-tone model N8YZ669 (chrome on brass case) is nicer, IMO:

As far as your comment: 'I should do the same as I am in desperate need of a couple of 7Axx movements.' goes, Chris .... These watches deserve to be restored and cherished for their own sakes, rather than simply regarded as 'movement donors' for common-or-garden Seiko 7A38's. I remember receiving a similar comment about three years ago, when I bought my first Yema N8. See this thread on the old Network54 SCWF: http://www.network54.com/Forum/78440/thread/1257120176/ Shock, Horror .... My First >>NON-SEIKO<< 7A38 !! (30+ Shimauchi V906-powered C.G.H. made '7A38's later). Scroll down to Lee's reply, further down the page: Glad to hear you bought it................. now whip the movement out, and give the rest of it a decent burial. In fact, I've done precisely the reverse on two occasions - scrapped 2 Seiko 7A38's to repair an Orient J39 and a Yema N8.

The same eBay seller (who once was the US importer / distributor for Yema) listed another of those NOS Spationaute III's last week: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120999947808
It sold in the early hours of this morning for the opening bid price of $225.

Slightly Should anyone be interested (possibly any members who have recently purchased one of those NOS Yema Spationaute III's) .... A Canadian eBay seller is offering (multiple copies) of that 1989 Yema L'Heure des Héros advert, featuring the Spationaute III: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400331539533 YEMA Y1115 SPATIONAUTE III MENS WATCH 1989 PRINT AD
Might make a nice back-drop for a photo with your 'new' watch.

That jazzy little JAZ N8YZ63 finally turned up in this morning's post - I'd almost given it up for lost. As the seller had stated in their description, it was indeed as dead as the proverbial dodo - and clearly in need of a new battery. I got a pleasant surprise when I opened the caseback - one of the cleanest 'needs battery' movements I've seen in a long while. Though this artificially-lit Q&D photo barely does it justice - it fairly gleams !
Note the dead battery still fitted - a SEIZAIKEN SR936SW. Years old, but absolutely bone dry underneath, with nary a sign of leakage. SEIZAIKEN is a Seiko Instruments Inc. company: http://www.sii.co.jp/components/battery/productDetailBat1MFzJP.jsp?recordID=50675

Yet another Yema Spationaute III (2nd Left) which I spotted on LeBonCoin this afternoon - listed in a job lot, but also priced separately: http://www.leboncoin.fr/montres_bijoux/385369400.htm?ca=1_s Montres de marques originales en lot ou à l'unité Mise en ligne par merle le 28 octobre à 15:15.
