Remiss of me not to have spotted these before, particularly with '7A38' included in the listing title. This job lot pair of Yema N80P896 'Psuedo Plongeurs' was listed a couple of days ago, by a French eBay seller, as a 5-day auction, with an opening bid price of 160 Euros. There are still almost 3 days of the auction remaining. The white dialed version has a chronograph fault and the case-back of the black dialed version appears to have been skimmed.

The original 5-day eBay auction for the job lot pair of Yema N80P896 'Pseudo Plongeurs' ended a couple of days ago, without any bids placed - unsold.

The French eBay seller immediately re-listed them as another 5-day auction, but then ended the re-listed auction early, after only one day, because of an error.

This Yema Spationaute III 38mm 'reduced' model # N80A696 in used, but evidently decent well cared for condition, still fitted with the original Yema shark strap, was listed by a French eBay seller late this afternoon, as a 7-day auction, with an opening bid price of 200 Euros, or the option to Buy-it-Now for 350 Euros.

Hardly worth mentioning really. This well-worn gold-tone Yema model # N71X33 '7A28'. fitted with an incongrous-looking cork strap was listed earlier today by a German eBay seller, with a risible 'pie-in-the-sky' Buy-it-Now price of 249.95 Euros. Clearly a chancer who has no idea of the real worth of these things. Not much. :roll:

This dressy Yema N81W63 Breguet Classique clone, with the more attractive dark blue and silver dial, was listed in the early hours of this morning, by an Australian eBay seller, as a 5-day auction with a sensible opening bid price of $180 Au., with the option to Buy-it-Now for an equally reasonable $245 Au. Apart from the usual (slipped tool) scratches on the case-back, it appears to be in decent condition, still fitted with the original Yema leather strap and comes with the correct period Yema presentation box. If I'm not mistaken, the seller stevenkazza_9 is an erstwhile member of this forum (Steve7a). Pity then that he won't ship outside Australia.

Looks like Australian eBay seller stevenkazza_9 (a.k.a 'Steve7A')'s sale of that Yema N81W63 has fallen through. He re-listed it this morning as a Buy-it-Now, with a reduced asking price of $225 Au. He's since added 3 new photos, subsequently making the wrist shot his primary image. Another shows the Shimauchi Ltd. V906 signed '7A38' movement.

The description looks much the same as before, apart from the addition of:

RELISTED DUE TO "NON PAYING" HIGH BIDDER!

I see Belgian forum member 'Johngo' has re-listed his almost NOS condition Yema Spationaute III on Catawiki. Bidding is currently @ 220 Euros. Hopefully his reserve price will be met this time.

I didn't have a problem with that, except he'd posted it by using the Quote & Reply button, thereby including a quote of my immediately preceding post. So I deleted it and sent him a quick PM, asking him to re-post it without the quote. He didn't.

His auction ended a few minutes ago, with bidding @ 341 Euros. Adding Catawiki's 9% commission gives a total selling price of 371.69 Euros.

I really shouldn't care less, but this downright lazy cheapskate kind of profiteering annoys the hell out of me ! :mad: In the early hours of this morning, an Australian eBay re-seller listed what is obviously the same Yema N81W63 sold by stevenkazza_9 a week ago for $225 Au., as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of $230 Au., or the option to Buy-it-Now for $300 Au. He's obviously cloned Steve's re-listing, using eBay's 'Sell one like this' feature, right down to the (slightly edited) description in the same color font. To add insult to injury, he's re-using 8 of Steve's photos, including his wrist shot as the primary image and has the gall to write: Sorry about the quality of the photos, I am not a very good photographer. His own crappy photos, which only include one of the watch are the last 4 in the set.

I have for sale a stunning and elegant Vintage YEMA Paris N81W63 Quartz Analogue Watch with Chronograph Stopwatch with a Yema Paris tag and replacement battery note

This watch uses the powerful Seiko 7A38 Day/Date movement - which followed the first-ever Seiko 7A28 movement in the early 1980's.

The watch was made in France, where the Yema brand has become legendary for it's high quality and reliability

It is water resistant to 5 ATM (50M) - although it hasn't been pressure tested - has a 30 minute stopwatch function which is measured by a large sweep second hand.

There are 3 pushers which all work correctly and the Cabochon? crown is on the left side

All functions work as they should and the day and date roll over nicely and, given its age, the face looks really good but the back

has a number of visible scratches. It keeps very good time.

The Yema branded genuine leather band looks original as it has been well worn but still looks good. It would fit a wrist up to about

19.5cm

I have included a copy of the manual of the 7A38 movement which is very helpful

The French seller hadn't sold them and re-listed them again separately as 5-day auctions earlier in the month. I don't know what to say, really. Words almost fail me. This JAZ Paris N8YZ669 was listed yesterday evening by a US eBay seller. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the dressy little JAZ N8's, particularly the attractive Panda dial version and thought they were under-valued. But $850 ??!! To add insult to injury, it's being offered to buyers outside USA through eBay's dysfunctional GSP programme, which potentially adds another $274 in charges, to the already ridiculous asking price.

Seems December 2020 is really turning into the 'Silly Season' on NOS N8's. Yesterday evening, Italian eBay seller strega_68 listed not one, but two supposedly new unworn Yema N8's.

The first is a N81W63 Breguet Classique clone, the version with the more attractive dark blue and silver 'Louis Quinze' dial. It's fitted with a Yema branded strap, and although I have seen other alternative straps fitted to this model for the Italian market, I'm not convinced this one is original. However, what is interesting about this particular example, is that its case-back still retains almost all the red waxy plastic protective covering - which we've seen traces of on previous examples.

Extremely Rare Yema Paris Chronograph Watch Seiko movement caliber 7a38 vintage. new, never worn all original Yema Paris. Works well. Collector's item.

The second N8 is a Yema N80P896 Psuedo Plonguer, fitted with a non-original aftermarket two-tone bracelet. The seller has currently uploaded a single photo.

In yet another instance of recent Déjà Vu (from the previous page), a very familiar looking Kamatz 517000 re-appeared on eBay earlier this morning, listed by an evidently extremely lazy would-be profiteering US eBay re-seller, with an eye to making a fast buck for absolutely zero effort. Not only hasn't he bothered to take his own photos, re-using the previous seller's images (which can be found on page 33 of this thread), uploaded in a much smaller size, direct from his mobile phone, but he's also copied the bulk of their description. Worse still, neither has he bothered to replace the flat battery (which he appears to state they don't make anymore). Yours now for a mere $395 !!

Apologies for the full quote, but I'm just carrying forward the pertinent information from the previous page. It's time for a somewhat inconclusive footnote to the saga of that Kamatz 517000. Over the last 4 months or so, the would-be profiteering US eBay re-seller netur-26 had made a large number of revisions to his listing.

These included uploading his own set of photos, which were actually something of an improvement on the previous seller's. He also reduced his greedily marked-up Buy-it-Now price, in stages - a total of 14 times, from his original ridiculous $395 to a more realistic (if still on the high side) $165. So that by the middle of December, the much revised listing now looked like this:

Yet oddly, I can't find any conclusive evidence proving that it actually sold.

There's nothing on eBay to show that it did and WatchCount.com shows it as still being 'available'. All there is in the eBay Purchase History is the deliberate lowball offer of $95 that I made him back on 14th August.

Weirdly enough, a similar fate appears to have befallen the Kamatz 518000 Oscar Bravo 'Panda' that was listed by another US eBay seller about a week later ....

There is also the option to make a much lower more realistic offer. Note the title of the listing - obviously copied verbatim from that of deluded US eBay seller cousinsgold2011. One assumes they also took his lead for their pricing.

I hadn't posted an update on this one before, for the same reason - simply because I hadn't managed to figure out what had actually become of it. The deluded US eBay seller texasman6238 had made a couple of revisions to his listing, one of which was reducing his original ludicrous 'pie-in-the-sky' Buy-it-Now price of $599.99 to a marginally less ridiculous $399.99 at the end of September.

The listing ended 3 weeks ago on 5th December, in similar strange circumstances.

I can't find any evidence of it having been sold on eBay and WatchCount.com shows it as ended unsold and still 'available'. Again, the eBay Purchase History shows only the two declined cheeky lowball offers that I made, back in August.

I've been meaning to add this update to this thread for a couple of days. Nothing to hide, or be ashamed about - I've just been busy with other stuff. Remember that NOS JAZ N8YZ669 listed the week before Christmas, by a US eBay seller, with a ludicrous 'pie-in-the-sky' Buy-it-Now price of $850 (plus $274 in GSP charges) ?

I'm not sure what prompted it, but at the weekend, just after midnight on Saturday, the US eBay seller revised their listing making a couple of minor changes to the title and description (adding in the sales code 2020H) ....

.... But more significantly, reducing their 'pie-in-the-sky' Buy-it-Now price from $850 down to a marginally less ridiculous figure of 'only' $450.

A couple of hours later, I received one of those mildly annoying discount offers from the seller, with a reduced Buy-it-Now price of 'only' $350. :roll: Instead of declining, I made them a cheeky, somewhat lower counter offer - and much to my surprise, they accepted !! Flushed by that rather unexpected success, striking while the iron was hot, I made an identical cheeky lowball offer on their NOS two-tone N8YZ669 (that they'd originally been asking a ludicrous $850 for) which was similarly promptly accepted.

Remiss of me, I'd overlooked posting this before now, even though I'd taken screen prints and uploaded them to the photo gallery. Fortunately, Buyee just sent me an 'ending soon' notification as a timely reminder.

This Yema Spationaute III Aragatz was listed on Yahoo Japan late on New Year's Eve as a 7-day auction, with an opening bid price of 3,980 Yen. I only spotted it when the listing was already 4 days old, but no bids had been placed at that stage. It's in average worn condition, with a scratched crystal and in need of a replacement battery. It's still fitted with the original Yema shark strap, albeit rather worn looking and heavily sweat-stained.

Google translates the Japanese description as follows:

This is chrono from YEMA, France.

Probably manufactured in the 1980s and 90s.

It is an item that is rarely seen in Japan.

Currently, the battery is dead.

There are scratches on the windshield, but the main body is good without any noticeable scratches.
