http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150828150662 I wonder what this 7A28-7049 will go for? Over the £500 mark probably!

Yes, it's getting a bit silly, especially now a zero feedback bidder is involved, but then the bidder j***r (35) only has himself to blame. BTW - didn't you see where I'd already written about this one, in another thread, Chris ? See post # 7: http://www.seiko7a38.com/apps/forums/topics/show/7540515-blink-and-you-ve-missed-it-or-was-it-you-who-nabbed-it-

I missed that that thread Paul, the re-seller must be rubbing his hands together in anticipation of his huge profit. He obviously isn't a collector, as this 7A28-7049 is a keeper.

Another crazy asking price from one of our ever-optimistic Italian eBay sellers - angeli_65: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270996993702 SEIKO 7A48 -5000 CHRONOGRAPH MOONPHASE " VINTAGE"
NOS with Tags it may be, but $1150 (approx. £739.69) is seriously taking the p!ss for a common-or-garden two-tone 7A48-5000.

A couple of slightly http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120933906630 Seiko 1/100s chronograph 7T59-6A00 NEW OLD STOCK RARE !!!
Not particluarly rare, as Chronograph.com were selling them off NOS a few years ago ....
.... and we know they can be found a lot cheaper ! and this .... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120933960932 FERRARI CHRONO by CARTIER mit MONDPHASE ! ! !
Rare the Cartier Ferrari Formula Cal. 532 '7A48' moon-phase may well be, but they're something of an acquired taste for most. I'm sure I've seen this same one listed at least twice before. The Buy-it-Now asking price is 1300 Euros (approx. £1,049) !

Although they do tend to fetch 'astronomic' prices at times, I doubt anybody is going to be rushing to bid on this 7A28-7000 Aliens - Listed on Yahoo Japan auctions earlier today, with an opening bid price of 98,000 Yen (approx. $1219) and with 2 loose pushers !! http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g110773686 7A28★ジウジアーロ・エイリアン・激レア(難有)
You've got the give the would-be seller 10/10 for accessorizing, though.

Italian eBay seller 'angeli_65' whose first four over-priced 7Axx offerings started off this thread, continues to churn out the odd gem: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271012051006 SEIKO SPORT 100 CHRONOGRAPH CAL. 7A38 - 6000 "VINTAGE"
Quite rare as 7A38's go, and NOS with tags. Yours for a mere $1500 (approx £956.75).

My Bishop woes continue: ok so it looked in good nick (and JDM?) and there were two brand new pushers with it, but it still sold yesterday for $515 / £331 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320936231525
SEIKO GIUGIARO 7A28 - 6000 BISHOP Speedmaster Chronograph Watch 2 NOS Pushers
and now this, complete with scratched off PVD for $725.00 / £467 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251100814460 Basically I'm going to have to come to terms with the fact I'm never going to own one of them... which makes me very sad... and all thanks to ebay and Italians and minted buyers! Edited by Admin: Fixed your photo / links for you, Daz.

Daz. I was going to write - probably one best avoided, because apart from the crazy price, the seller is none other than 'watches.br'. You may remember them from the franken 7A38-7085 discussed on RLT a year or so ago: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250822095718 Anyway - too late ! Someone's gone and bought their 'Bishop' for the $725 asking price !!

The whole world, including, Japan certainly seems to have gone mad for 'Bishop's at the moment., Daz. This one, a 7A28-6000 SAY048 JDM variant, as one might expect to find there, was listed on Yahoo Japan last week: http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h163590364
セイコー(SEIKO)スピードマスター(7A28-6000)ジウジアーロ非対称
Obviously used, but in nicely cared for condition, with light rubbing wear to the grey coating on the edges of the bezel and bracelet. It also came with box and paperwork. The seller included plenty more photos, embedded in the listing, which are well worth a look. His opening bid price was a very low 1000 Yen (with no reserve). The auction ended about 3:00pm UK time, this afternoon, after at least two 10 minute extensions that I saw .... and 56 bids by 13 different bidders !!

Not exactly 'crazy', compared to some of the ridiculous asking prices we've documented in this thread - just borderline plain stupid. A relatively common 7A28-7039 with a far-from-perfect bezel inlay; rather iffy lume on a few of the dial batons .... and fitted on a skinny replacement bracelet off a Seiko digital (as openly stated in the seller's listing description): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150879604254 Rare SEIKO 7A28-7039 Japan "Speedmaster" 1ST GEN>1982>15J>Working!
Bought it from a sale of a retired Air Force Pilots estate, working great and keeping perfect time. Excellent condition for a 30yr old timepiece. This is one of the rarest and sought after Seiko's. I think its a holy grail for Seiko collectors. Please let me know if you have any questions? The Hardlex crystal was just replaced and it was cleaned & timed last week. The bracelet isn't the original but its off a A159 Seiko NoS SS watch and is as new, Adjustable and quite comfortable! Case measured 40.6mm 9 to 3 exc. crown/pushers. All functions work perfect, the 1/10s hand at 3 o'clock flies around at a fast pace, making a complete revolution every second, very cool feature. Thanks for looking! I suppose one should be grateful for small mercies - that it is actually 'working' for the giveaway asking price of only $650 !!

In case anybody clicking on the link in the previous post thinks I may have got the eBay auction mixed up - I haven't. The would-be seller appears to have had a change of heart (erm, better make that The same 7A28-7039 is now offered on a choice of NATO strap, or another ill-fitting replacement stainless bracelet:
The previous ridiculous $650 asking price is now reduced to 'only'

Seems that Italian eBay seller 'angeli_65' may have finally seen the light. Now re-listed (for the nth time, having gone unsold since April), with an opening bid price (rather than a Buy-it-Now) of 'only' $250: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271043863292 I wonder if that will still be low enough to tempt any bidder(s).

Not so much a 'crazy' price - just plain borderline ridiculous. Listed last night on Yahoo Japan was this 7A38-7180 with worn black chrome coating: http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e126205846 OH済海外版世界初セイコースピードマスターデイトファースト7A38
Yours for the opening bid price of 49,800 Yen - equivalent to £399.55 (may as well call it £400) or $635 US. Alternatively, with a bit of patience, you could easily pick one up in similar condition on eBay UK for £50 - £100.

Goffre's back with another 7A38. His asking prices; command of English language and photography skills don't get any better with practice. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190725774757
VINTAGE SEIKO WATCH 7A38-7140 GIUGIARO MEGA RARE NOS NEW OROLOGIO
original SEIKO VINTAGE 7A38-7140 giugiaro NOS!!!!!!! BOX,ORIGINAL perfect working VERY VERY RARE IMPOSIBOL FIND! GOOD LUKE Yours for a mere $1100 (approx. £684.80). Actually, thinking about it, compared to the ridiculous $2350 originally asked by that other deluded Italian eBay seller 'angeli_65' for the 7A38-7140 which started off this thread, that's almost reasonable. Incidentally, in case you didn't follow that listing, somebody was daft enough to pay $800 for it eventually: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270900021867

Just to demonstrate how speculative some of these crazy eBay asking prices are ($1100 = 853.50 Euros) .... The same 7A38-7140 was listed on eBay Italy classifieds for 'only' 520 Euros a week ago (presumably by a previous seller): http://annunci.ebay.it/annunci/orologi/padova-annunci-padova/seiko-orologio-raro/33522606 Seiko orologio raro
Bracciale in acciaio verniciato PVD. Vetro zaffiro. Completo questo orologio astuccio con scatola di protezione e la garanzia ancora in bianco. Raro orologio dal design accattivante da intenditori, frutto della collaborazione tra Seiko e il famoso Giorgetto Giugiaro. Pezzo unico e molto raro. Vi prego di informarVi su questo orologio. A vostra disposizione Apart from one photo of the (unstamped) Seiko warranty booklet, the photos are exactly the same as in the current eBay listing. So not only is Goffre trying to make a fast buck, he didn't even bother taking any new photos - instead re-using the previous seller's.

Il fondello, avvitato, riporta oltre al logo della Seiko, la referenza dell'orologio 7A38-7140 e la matricola 580088. And there's the 'gotcher'. I thought the box (and more) looked familiar. But that serial # 580088 has confirmed my suspicions. I'm still in the hurried process of writing up the 7A38-7140 thread in the 7A38-xxxx Model Specific section .... But I can now safely say this is exactly the same 7A38-7140 which sold on eBay in August 2011 for 'only' 253 Euros (approx. £219).
So, all I can say is: More fool the buyer who pays anything like Goffre's grossly inflated (+237%) asking price of 853 Euros !!

Although he's recieved 4 offers, they obviously weren't close enough to the $1100 Goffre's was asking for his 7A38-7140. But rather than end that Buy-it-Now listing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190725774757 which has just under 22 days to run, he's started another 5-day auction listing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190729027600 - with an opening bid price of $710. Which should be interesting, but I'm not sure if it's in contravention of eBay's duplicate listing policy.
