Greetings Friends! My name is Pedro and I´m from Portugal. I have recently found this forums after becoming curious about Seiko´s 7xxx calibers and the very elegant designs using these movements, and also the propper ways to keep them ticking. I am also a bit of a seiko fanatic...

Good day all, Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nick, i am 43 years of age, and i love watches. Now i am old enough, and maybe lucky enough, to have been serving in the British armed forces (Army) when the Seiko gen 1 and 2's were being issued to aircrew through the G10 stores. The gen 2 was nice, but the 7A28 based gen 1 was always the one, the only one to be honest. I had many a chance to acquire one at the time, but foolishly turned down the opportunities/offers- hindsight is a wonderful thing. Anyways, i have just, very recently picked up my first 7A28 watch, a 702A to be exact. lovely watch, fair condition for its age, but wonderful in my eyes. Photo's and a thread to follow shortly. It is good to be reading threads from real enthusiasts, and not just fanboys (i have become slightly disillusioned with most watch forums due to non appreciation of non vogue watches). Good to be here, and hopefully i will be soaking up lots of information regarding the 7A series in the future. Best regards- Nick

Hi everyone, I am a guy from Sweden by the name of Kent, I believe that I have always been a collector. Started with stamps, coins beercans, fishing reels, fishing rods, lures, cameras......damn maybe I should call me a hoarder! But these days it is mostly down to watches. A couple of dozens. My collection of 7a´s is still small but hopefully growing, today a 7A38-6010 arrived. Bought "as is" claiming that is was working but wouldn't zero the chrono. After some cleaning it is now running strong on my wrist. I figured I had to join this community where I have lurked around for some time. I will add some pics when daylight arrives. One more time, greetings to you all!! Regards Kent

Welcome aboard, Kent. Your second name isn't Clark is it ? You may have lurked here for a long time, but I've also 'stalked' you over on SCWF. As soon as I saw your user-name - I recognised you as the man with that Johannes Brost 7A38-702A poster. Cool. Mentioned it here, about a month ago, as you may already have read: http://www.seiko7a38.com/apps/forums/topics/show/7386491-seiko-7a-s-in-period-magazine-advertisments

Hi, thank´s a lot. Yes I´m that guy. The poster is adding some joy to my office. When I showed it to my wife she only had one question "Where are you going to put that?" So it is now in my office. /Kent

Hi again! I guess I promised some pictures also, today it is a lovely november day in Gothenburg so I brought out the camera. Here are some pic of my 7A´s and some other Seiko chronos that I currently have in my possession.
As you can see in the pictures I´m not the mint condition type of guy, so some of my watches are kind of beaten up. But I like to wear them without the fear of adding a new scratch to a perfect watch that survived 40 years before me! The golden 7a38-7000 is the one awating the +-battery connector that you found for me Paul . Greetings from Sweden /Kent

Hi, Kent. Thanks for posting and sharing your photos with us. They might have got a few more views if you'd posted them (or at least those of your 7Axx's) in the 7Axx General Discussion area, rather than here. Up to you if you want to start another little thread there. There was (or still is) a slight problem with your photos. I've seen this happen with a few other posters (including Carlo previously). Somehow the images appear to be stretched top to bottom (in fact they're actually compressed sideways to fit the page width). It's to do with the Photobucket image coding. You don't need the part 'Height=768 Width=1024'. The forum software will resize for you.
I've fixed the first four images, by editing your post (in HTML). Let me know when you've read this and I'll adjust the others for you.

Hi Yes they looked a bit odd, thank you for the editing, if it is possible for you to edit the others it would be nice. Maybe I´ll start a thread with some pics, Could add some when fixing the 7a38-7000? /Kent Done. Paul.

Hello. Great site. I am a big fan of the 7A28 based Seiko's (obviously also the 7A38's also). Specifically the 7A28-7049 and 7A28-7120. I have the later and it was whilst looking for a solution to a problem with the watch that i found this great resource.

gday everyone im dave from queensland australia, im not a big watch fan but i thought id share my seiko story! i work in the rubbish industry and found this old seiko with no bracelet and not running about 8 years ago, seeing it was a seiko and looked ok i took a punt and put a battery in it and it runs, its only just gone flat again so i googled around and saw that these are a popular watch, i wouldve never guessed a whole forum would be dedicated to them, mines a 7a28 as in my avatar, i dont wear a watch daily as it would get in the way of my work etc, i wear this one if we go out etc, its a december 83 build, saved from the rubbish dump! i like it and will keep it forever, its my only watch,my wife always wants to buy me one for christmas or birthdays but i always tell her i already have a good old seiko!

since ive got the photo upload sorted here it is,i quite like its knocked about look, not too ravaged,if these old watches could talk?
Edited by Admin: Dave. Here's how it should look (without the Photobucket height="768" width="1024" coding):

Not quite 'sorted' Dave. Like a couple of the previous posters, your embedded image is slightly distorted (appears 'stretched'). Not sure where you're (all) picking up that coding with the sizes included, but see my reply to Kent above. In a minute, when I've typed this, I'll edit your post, leaving your original uploaded image for comparison.
