Just got out my stainless 7A38-7140 'beater' to do a quick comparison with another similarly well-worn example that's recently been listed on eBay - and to count up the number of links. Mine's only on my wrist courtesy of a clasp extender.

Got my 7A38-705A out this morning, to try another different Seiko bracelet on it. Why you may ask ?

Wearing a stainless 7A38-7000 on this grey overcast Monday morning. Typical English summer's day - it's drizzling.

Speaking of 'slightly grubby', as I was .... That very reasonably priced stainless 7A38-7020 did indeed clean up very nicely.

Something a bit different this afternoon: an attractive little watch that doesn't see the light of day as often as it should. A stainless 7A38-6080 SAA089J.

Wearing one of my favourite self-built Frankens today. Funnily enough it's a combination of two watches on this page - the watch case is from a stainless 7A38-7020 and the black / grey 709L is from a 7A38-7070 (yesterday's shot), but with white Day / Date wheels. The hands are from a 7A28-7040 (hour / minute are in fact same as a 7A38-7020). The 10mm fitting bracelet with nicely matching rivet detail is a NOS (or at least it was) Seiko p/n Z1020S. Must build another one sometime.

First wristshot of my new 7A38-701A. I´m sure some more will follow in the future.

Of course today one more time the "new" 7A38-701A. This time a photo with the usual angle.

How are you supposed to follow that ? So here's mine. First time it's been out of the collection box this year. Far from mint, but I'm still happy with my old 'Vulcan'.

Very nice Vulcan. The hands make it look classic and a little bit elegant. Today one of my favourite "diver" 7Axx, the black 7A38-7080.

Wearing my second string 7A38-6060 SAA071J today - photo taken in the shade in an attempt to avoid reflections off the domed crystal. It's actually a nice bright sunny afternoon.

A recent flurry of emails and PM's from a newly-joined forum member (clearly enthusiastic about acquiring his similar model), reminded me I hadn't worn this in a very long time. My ex-Wimstore 'Freebee' Orient J39701-70, fitted with a non-original Seiko p/n G1410S stainless bracelet. Of course, when I came to get it out of the collection box, the battery was flat - and the next one to it.

Closer examination of the watches in that collection box revealed that it just wasn't the one next to it, but there were half a dozen more besides, that were either stopped or displaying the 'two-second tick' low battery symptoms.

Having gone through that collection box yesterday afternoon, which contains the bulk of my J39 collection, replacing flat batteries, I needed to reset the dates (and times) on most of the others. This one was showing SAT 29 (and still on GMT) - an indication that I hadn't worn it in a long time.
