Perfect watch for a dismal overcast rainy day. Seiko 7A38-7270 case with the blue dial movement out of my 7A38-706A.

Got this out earlier today and found, like so many others lately, it needed a new battery.

A very Q&D 'as received' shot of my newest incoming Orient J39 - a variant I hadn't seen before last weekend, the J39009-80. It arrived by DHL from Italy on Thursday and I haven't yet had time to do anything with it. First thing to do will be to find a suitable replacement black leather strap. Evidently, it's meant to be that unusual burnt gold / antique brass finish. I'll write up a separate thread about this one, when I can find time. It's an interesting little back story.

Not my style, I have to admit, but the Orient looks nice. 7A38-7070 for me today

Today it´s a 7A28-7050; the chrono hands have been repainted by my watchmaker. Crown is not original and the dial is not perfect but I like the watch anyway. By the way: does anyone know if this is a Giugiaro design or not? I assume it´s not but I´m not sure.

I still think your old avatar looks better Don. Here's my recently acquired cheap beater Racer J39725-70 that I've just finished fettling this morning (by fitting a suitably cheap and nasty 20mm 'Feiko' bracelet). Apologies for the poor quality shot, but the light is bad and there's a bitterly cold wind blowing outside, so I was quick.

Yes, it's definitely an acquired taste, especially that 'antique bronze' finish, but my recently acquired Orient J39009-80 is slowly growing on me.

A bit of bling to brighten up a sunny but bitterly cold afternoon. Something I bought from Don recently - a gold-tone 7A38-7280 SAA124J, in very nice little worn condition, which had previously belonged to the late Mike Kelley.

Wearing an old favourite this morning: a Yema Spationaute III which I gave the pet name Grand Bleu (for obvious reasons).
But whichever way I contorted my wrist, I still couldn't avoid catching some reflection on the domed crystal. So there was only one answer for it - change the angle of refraction.

I bought another RACER J39710-70 off a Spanish eBay seller last month. It was supposed to be 'NOS', but like so many watches falsely listed on eBay using that tempting moniker, it clearly wasn't. But it was better is some respects than my previous example, particulary the bracelet, which appeared to still have the full complement of adjustment links. I've just got around to re-sizing it - and in the process, donated a couple of links to my previous one, which was fitted with a clasp extender. Here's a Q&D wrist shot of the newer one.
