Nearly forgot to add this onto the thread, too. Last week, a keyword spamming Italian eBay seller listed a gold-tone 7A38-706A with the alternative (and IMHO rather more attractive) Roman numeral dial, as a 7-day auction, with an opening bid price of 150 Euros and the option to make an offer.

The 7-day auction ended mid-week, with the 7A38-706A selling for the opening bid price of 150 Euros.

I suppose I should add a footnote to this sorry saga. I was the unfortunate winning bidder of that gold-tone 7A38-706A. I paid the seller immediately, but the watch never arrived. :( After 3 weeks, I opened a case in eBay's Resolution Center. The seller stubbornly refused to make a refund. So I escalated it and eventually got my money back and left him the appropriately worded negative feedback he deserved. Although he wouldn't admit to his mistake and tried to blame it on the courier, the seller himself had entered the wrong number into Poste Italiane's tracking system. When it arrived in the UK, although it was correctly addressed, Parcel Farce, being their usual helpful selves (not), rejected it and returned it to the seller.

A matter of hours after I'd received my refund, the Italian eBay seller re-listed it, as another 7-day auction, with the opening bid price increased to 199 Euros.

Needless to say, it went unsold.

The seller went on to re-list it 6 more times as 7-day auctions, without success.

He re-listed it for the 8th time early this morning.

It finally sold again, earlier this afternoon, for an undisclosed best offer:

This gold-tone 7A38-706A with the more attractive Roman numeral dial, currently a non-runner in need of a replacement battery, was listed earlier this morning, by an Italian eBay seller, as a 10-day auction with an opening bid price of 140 Euros.
