As another alternative to the WRUW thread, 'cos if you've actually bothered to try it, wrist shots are actually quite easy (with practice). What I've found is just as difficult, is to get a nice shot of a watch in its box, with all the box, including the logo, in focus and in frame. Watch stands are quite easy, as long as you're only photographing one watch and stand. Multiples aren't quite so easy, as I found. Here's one I tried a couple of years ago (when I owned rather fewer Yema N8's, and no Yema branded watch stands, at the time):
While I remember, let me show you this. There are a number of things I still regret not having bought over the years. This is pretty near the top of the list, accessory-wise:
It was advertised briefly on LeBonCoin in September 2011. I did message the seller asking if he'd be prepared to ship to England, but by the time he replied it was already sold. | |

So let's see 'em. Your 7Axx in a Seiko box, with or without it's manual; simply posed on a Seiko stand, or spread across a relevant period magazine advert (for the same watch). Or any other suitably branded props you've got. One of my personal favourites are a pair of Seiko ashtrays that I picked up on eBay Germany. Yes, I may smoke, but my cigarette butts don't go anywhere near these ashtrays. They've served me far better as photographic props for certain colour watches. Most of you have probably seen these shots before:

What ? Nobody going to give it a try ? This is a shot I've wanted to get right (having tried and failed on various previous occasions) .... A Yema Spationaute III with the Aragatz mission logo. Originally I'd tried printing the logo on (a sheet of A4) paper. Then I had it printed (way too large in hindsight) on a sheet of blue fabric:
A few weeks ago, by some minor miracle, I managed to pick up a genuine Aragatz mission patch on eBay France, for just 7 Euros. I'll admit this variation was inspired by a 7A28-7000 'Ripley Aliens' sold on eBay recently, which used a 'Nostromo' patch as a prop.
