This 'dibs' thing, as you pointed out when it was first mooted isn't tenable really.

Can't remember exactly what it was now, possibly a 7A28, rather than a 7A38, but you, Simon and IIRC, Bob Barkell (another regular last-second sniper I've encountered, but not a forum member) all got out-sniped on something I had on my eBay watching page. 

And here's me up at well past 3:30am, just having concluded a WUS deal.
