WTT: For Trade - my 7A38-704B beater for your 7A38-? beater

(Two of the better photos from that SCWF WTT advert now removed, at the request of the poster.) Take a look for yourselves.

The seller is candidly open about the condition of his trade offering, but had requested that I do not post his photos on our forum.

Yes, the 7A38-704B may be one of the rarer, hence more sought-after, of the 7A38-704x variants - but not in that tired condition.

And as for the 7A38-xxxx models the optimistic poster would propose to swap this for (beater or otherwise):

- 7A38-6000

- 7A38-6030

- 7A38-6040

- 7A38-6060

- 7A38-6070

- 7A38-701A

- 7A38-701B

- 7A38-706A

- 7A38-7010

- 7A38-7070

- 7A38-7080

- 7A38-7290

Dream on !!

PS - Having tracked this German SCWF member's activity on here, this morning, various topics in the 7A38-xxxx model specific area and a couple of other recent threads would appear to have inspired some, if not the majority of, the models in his 'fantasy wish list'. ;)

The watch has been TRADED! Thank you very much to the SCWF.

I want to trade my 7A38-704B for your 7A38-? ....

That dog-eared 7A38-704B with the knackered bracelet was allegedly subsequently traded - though Lord only knows what for.

Whatever ....

It's now listed on eBay Germany:

Seltener vintage Seiko Chronograph 7A38-704B Sports 100 Armbanduhr 80er Jahre

Opening bid price is 1.00 Euro, fortunately .... Dieser Artikel kann leider nicht nach Großbritannien verschickt werden.

I forgot to mention, but apart from the obvious similarities, their serial numbers match - # 441177 ....

Another of 'Sharpie's photos from SCWF (all now mysteriously deleted):

.... and from the current eBay Germany listing:

Funny how both he (who had allegedly traded it) and the current eBay seller are both in Berlin. Note also the same backing cloth. ;)

Footnote: that 7A38-704B subsequently sold, on May 13th for 78 Euros (approx. £62)  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200757804570

Another example in much better (albeit rather grubby) condition was listed almost concurrently on eBay in the States:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261019526151

SEIKO 7A38-704B sports a 7A38 calibre.WATCH MENS 100M CHRONO SPORTS RARE NR!

Although it had a scuffed crystal, the watch suffered from far less coating wear, generally, and the bracelet appeared unstretched.

That one, by comparison, sold on May 15th for $178 (approx. £111) and unlike Sharpie's tired example is eminently restorable. :)
