You've got to give this enterprising Italian eBay seller 10/10 for effort. See: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150769700964 Seiko 7A28-7020 James Bond
The Seiko 7A28-7020 SPR007 connection is well known to James Bond fans. See: http://jamesbondwatchesblog.com/category/reference-numbers/seiko-7a28/ and: http://jamesbondwatchesblog.com/2010/10/james-bond-wore-worlds-first-quartz-chronograph-seiko-watch/ But would you pay 400 Euros (approx. £335) for an only average condition 7A28-7020 - if it came with the 007 window display ? Probably one for the die-hard 007 fans, methinks.

But would you pay 400 Euros (approx. £335) for an only average condition 7A28-7020 .... I noticed the Buy-it-Now price on this 007 lot has since dropped, twice now, to a mere 180 Euros (£150). Getting there slowly ....

It's been nearly two years since I started this thread, but I knew we had one somewhere. In fact, where it was, laying dormant near the bottom of page 4 of the eBay section, it took me a while to find it .... and I nearly gave up looking and added this post onto the eBay 'Craziest Prices' thread, where it rightfully belongs. Did anybody else spot this albeit brief listing for a 7A28-7020 'James Bond' SPR007J on eBay Italy ? Yours for a mere $1200 !! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151230695183
Exceptional rare seiko 7a28-7020 James Bond in museum condition! Come with original box and window display prop. Impossible to find in this condition for your collection! Just replaced the battery! So that's $195 for the watch; $5 for the new battery and $1000 for the cardboard cut-out then ? Edit: I just clicked on the original eBay link that I posted in March 2012 (it still works). Guess what ? Same Italian seller vurdulakit.

Speaking of Italian eBay sellers, crazy prices and 'props', one of our 'favourite' Italian eBay sellers likes to use 1:43 die cast model cars as 'accessories' in his listing photos. Recently he had a NOS 7A28-7020 SPR007J up for sale with an asking price of a cool $1000. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121285396339
What connection, if any, the (unidentified) light blue 1960's sports racer might have to do with James Bond, only Strega_68 knows. In 'A view to a kill', Roger Moore is probably best remembered driving a Renault 11 taxi (sawn in half) around Paris. It sold three days ago against a best offer. According to Goofbid's eBay Best Offer History tool, he accepted $700 for it.

Yet again, would-be Italian eBay seller vurdulakit tries a different slant on the Bond theme: P.o.S. and watch re-united once again.

In the intervening months since I last updated this thread, there have been quite a few 7A28-7020 SPR007J's listed on eBay. Many have been speculatively over-priced as Buy-it-Now's, like this example currently listed on eBay UK asking £400: I've also noticed a number of ill-informed idiots incorrectly including the words 'James Bond' in their eBay listing titles .... in their pathetic efforts to draw attention to their eBay listings for other lacklustre 7Axx's which patently aren't, such as this: This tw@t even included 'Military' in his title. One reason I chose to give this thread a timely bump more rightfully belongs in THE CRAZIEST eBay 7Axx Prices thread .... Indeed that's where most of his eBay listings usually get a free plug ! Yesterday, Italian eBay seller valentinasex (a.k.a. goffre78 - real name Alberto Ulmi) listed a NOS 7A28-7020 'James Bond'. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-/181700900193 ORIGINALE SEIKO VINTAGE GIUGIARO 7A28-7020 SERIE GIUGIARO CON SCATOLA E TAG no MANUALE JAMES BOND NEW OLD THE STOCK IMPOSSIBILE DA TROVARE X ALTRE INFO CONTATTATEMI DA MUSEO DELLA SEIKO INTROVABILE
ORIGINAL SEIKO VINTAGE WATCH 7A28-7020 JAMES BOND NEW BOX no MANUAL PERFECT WORKING X COLLEZIONISTI E NON FOR COLLECTION! SHIPPING TO EUROPE 25$ EXPRESS SHIPPING TO WORLDWIDE 35$ EXPRESS Yours for a mere $2200 or £1482.33 !! Thing is, not only is Alberto greedy, lazy and a lousy photographer he's not the sharpest knife in the box, either. Check out the label on the tag in his first photo:
It shows SDW225P (a 7T32-6D4A - hence 'Alarm') - not SPR007J, the correct sales code for a stainless 7A28-7020. He's pulled this stunt a few times before - just shoves any old label into the tag holder to make it look more complete. In fact, I wouldn't mind betting this is the very same NOS 7A28-7020 that was listed by strega_68 back in March last year.

Speaking of Déjà Vu .... The other thing which prompted me to update this thread was that I'd noticed Italian eBay seller vurdulakit had recently once again re-listed his Seiko 'View to a Kill' 7A28-7020 James Bond cardboard cut-out P.o.S. display. It finally sold at 10:30 this morning. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151626881604
I wonder who might have bought that. I think I could probably make an inspired guess. I suspect it'll soon be heading on its way from Turin (Torino) to Florence (Firenze).

What was that I wrote yesterday ? Remember how I started off this thread ? You've got to give this enterprising Italian eBay seller 10/10 for effort. Well, by comparison, I think it would generous to award UK eBay seller 2011jim2345 3/10 with a D- for literacy. Over the next couple of days, I watched with some mild amusement as he changed photos (frankly not much better); various other terms and the initial pie-in the-sky Buy-it-Now asking price rapidly came down in stages .... by over a Thousand Quid !! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemRevisionDetails&item=261827756641
After all that, he terminated what was originally a 30-day listing, yesterday evening, after less than 3 days, with the price down to £285: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261827756641
He re-listed it, a few minutes later, as a 3-day auction: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261831138686
hi im selling this very rare james bond watch (a veiw to kill) 7a28-7020 genuine all good condition no scratches on screen couple little scratches on strap as used, but all in all great condition MUST NOTE NEEDS NEW BATTERY WHICH IS TEN POUNDS FROM JEWELLERS dosent come with battery happy buying and will send first class free postage sorry about pic quality camara isent the best, very collectable to collectors are screaming out for these if you visit the homepage on seiko theres loads of people wanting this watch thanks for looking you wont be diserpointed Unbelievably, although he obviously seems fairly desperate to sell it, he still hasn't bothered to get a new battery fitted.

I'm in catch-up mode at the moment - so please forgive the slightly belated update. Despite his somewhat less that stellar literary and photographic abilities, yesterday eBay seller 2011jim2345 finally managed to sell his 7A28-7020 'James Bond' SPR007J for £190. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261831138686
Probably more than he deserved. Meanwhile the other UK eBay listing by seller munchkin55bass with a Buy-it-Now of £400 is now halfway though it's 30-day duration:

I had added it to my watching page - just out of curiosity. I'd noticed that yesterday, the seller munchkin55bass had reduced his pie-in-the-sky Buy-it-Now price from £400 down to £250: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemRevisionDetails&item=221720618801
From memory, there were 30 other people watching it, besides myself and the 30-day listing was due to end sometime this weekend. But earlier this evening someone got an itchy trigger finger. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221720618801

Ms Valentina Sex has still not sold hers (his?) Never gave 7A28-7020's much of a look, and no chance of me splashing out $2200 for a watch that has been subject to product placement in a movie. For that price I would at least have expected free PP.

Old news, I'm afraid, Dirk. Check out my post of 27th March. The eBay listing you linked is Alberto Ulmi's (a.k.a. goffre78 / valentinasex) third 30-day (re)listing - of the same 7A28-7020. Sometimes he'll go on re-listing his ludicrously over-priced offerings for months, even years on end, without dropping the price. For $2200 I'd expect nothing less than the watch personally delivered by Fiona Fullerton (Pola Ivanova) - naked but for a fur coat. It wouldn't be too much to ask - she only lives a few miles away from me.
The actress in the above opening scene of the movie, where the 7A28-7020 SPR007 is most visible, is actually former 'Miss World' Mary Stavin who played MI6 agent Kimberley Jones, rather than Fiona Fullerton.

Did not notice it was a relisting of the one from March, it only now popped up in my search page... I had a look through his other offerings - rip offs - I wish my wages were calculated with the same currency converter he uses: 1200 for a speed timer, 1200 for a casio digital, in fact the cheapest Casio on his page is $250 for a ST50!!!! worth $3 in parts!

It seems that would-be Italian eBay seller vurdulakit has still not sold his 7A28-7020 'James Bond' SPR007J. 'Cos, three and a half years since I started this thread, it's back on eBay re-listed once again, in yet another guise ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151897060665
