Hi there, I am fairly new to the 7axx watches, but I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pretty 702A watch this week. This is my second 7a28 - I already purchased a 7049 a couple of months ago. The 702A has a small flaw, which I would like to fix nevertheless; the 1/10s hand has been slightly damaged so I am looking for a replacement. I see these hands offered on ebay but in full white, whereas the 702A has a chrome center. Would anyone happen to know a source for this, or even a part number? (Originally uploaded, now missing photo was previously hosted by Tinypic.) Thanks! Eric (from The Netherlands)

Eric. If you've checked Seiko Oceania's database, then you'll have seen that most of the parts data for the 7A28-702A is missing. I'm going to stick my neck out, by saying that the sub-dial hand you seek is probably the same part used as the constant seconds hand on the 7A28-7050, 7A38-701X and 7A38-704X. Which, if I'm correct, would make it a Seiko p/n 04E14AK. Ebay seller seikoparts14 (Tony Plaza) has them: Tony's photo isn't the clearest (they're in a poly bag), so I've asked the question. I'll forward you his reply.

Much obliged Paul! Tony has confirmed these are the ones with the polished center, so I have ordered one from him.
