Hi, George. This is a relatively common problem with this model - and all the others in the 7A38-728x range, which use the p/n B1627 bracelet. Spare links aren't that easy to find nowadays. Assuming your watch is still fitted with the short (12mm) non-adjustable clasp closer, an acceptable alternative method of increasing the length of the bracelet is to fit a longer clasp cover (of the same 16mm width). Original Seiko fitment (no adjustment):
25mm long 5-hole adjustment:
35mm long 7-hole adjustment:

That's a great idea. I'll see if I can find a longer clasp cover, thanks! George

I'm not 100% sure if this actually is genuine Seiko (the additional word 'JAPAN' is frequently found on Feiko bracelets), but if it is a reproduction, it appears to be a very high quality pressing. Ideally you'd want to find one with the SQ logo, instead of Japan, but .... PS - This longer 'Stelux' style Seiko clasp cover won't work with your existing Z-fold, because it doesn't have the securing tabs:

Great NOS 7-hole SQ clasp find, Don (presuming it's 16mm) - but what's George going to do with the rest of the band ?
