How are the dial and hands held in place if there's nowt in it?   I did wonder if I could meld one of my cheapies with a newer case, but, A, the band doesn't have a clasp, and the band is different to my $31 purchase.  Just wondered if I could make one good one out of one and a quarter watches. :/

Rob.

There are a couple of topics about Salesman's Sample Cases on the forum already - one of which should answer your question.

E.g. http://www.seiko7a38.com/apps/forums/topics/show/8344538 Salesman's sample cases selling for strong prices on eBay

With Seiko 7Axx sample cases, the dial is usually held in place with tape and the hands are fixed to (taped) dummy spindles, like this:

Seiko 7Txx sample cases usually have a 'destroyed' movement fitted - i.e. one that was deliberately damaged to render it unsaleable.

Check out these two other current 7T32 Sample Case listings also from Ron Canda (49Ronnie): 161192030185 and 310838860322

Both state in the description: THERE IS A DESTROYED SEIKO MOVEMENT INSIDE THIS CASE.
