The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
That re-sprayed, much re-sold and well-travelled 7A38-7140, subject of God knows how many posts in the old forum's
7A38-7140 SAA051J Black Chrome Coated thread ....
Which last resurfaced on Instagram, almost exactly a year ago, in June 2020, posted by its latest Japanese owner ....
.... was listed on Yahoo Japan earlier today, with a 'Prompt Decision' Buy-it-Now price of 200,000 Yen !!!!

Two of the YJ listing photos (3rd and last) are same as he'd uploaded to Instagram last year. Bit of a giveaway, that.

Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
I just checked that Yahoo Japan listing and the Japanese seller has reduced his ludicrous 'Prompt Decision' Buy-it-Now price from ¥200,000 Yen by 17% to 'only' ¥165,000 Yen. For reasons best known to himself, he's also reduced the listing duration from 7 days to one (24 hours).
https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b551233584
Meanwhile, this lunchtime, a greedy Japanese cross-platform proxy re-seller mushuplab also listed it on eBay, with an even more ridiculous Buy-it-Now price of $2,357.79 US, which equates to approx. ¥260,000 Yen - rather than ¥200,000 the YJ seller was asking (and has since reduced to ¥165,000 Yen).
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seiko-Vintag ... 2929427053
The photos are mostly the same as previously posted on Instagram and uploaded to the Yahoo Japan listing by the bona fide Japanese seller, except in a much smaller (500x500) size. The only one I don't remember seeing before is this shot of the back of the watch. Still nothing showing the case-back serial # 560452, but naturally I'm taking that for granted.

Hmm. Interesting. Checking my eBay watching page, I see that the presumably unauthorised Japanese eBay proxy re-seller ended his ludicrously over-priced listing earlier this morning, as allegedly no longer available. Not that it ever was available, directly from him.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402929427053
Yet the bona fide Yahoo Japan seller's 24-hour reduced price re-listing ended with it unsold (or so it appears).

Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
It's back on Yahoo Japan, re-listed as another 1-day listing. Same risible 165,000 Yen 'Prompt Decision' Buy-it-Now price. In fact it's the same YJ item number.

This watched item ending soon reminder notification from Buyee was near the top of my email inbox this morning:
I clicked on it to find the hapless Japanese seller had already re-listed it again - this time for 7 days.
I suspect this may go on for a while.

Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
Indeed - as predicted. The hapless Japanese would-be profiteering re-seller re-listed it once again this morning, with a new YJ item number and price reduced to 'only' 150,000 Yen. He's also resorted to keyword spamming in the title.

I didn't notice immediately, but he's swapped the photos in this re-listing (their backgrounds are deceptively similar):

Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
In the latest revision of his YJ re-listing, the hapless Japanese seller has further reduced his Prompt Decision Buy-it-Now price by 13%, to 'only' 130,000 Yen and the listing duration to 2 days.

Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
The ongoing failed efforts of hapless would-be seller popstyle10 to flog the infamous re-sprayed 7A38-7140 on Yahoo Japan continues to provide a source of amusement. His previous latest 'reduced' re-listing still had a day or so to run. Earlier this morning, he created another parallel 7-day listing in which he's added a 7S26-0030 SKX013K Diver into the 'bargain'. Sorry that's the wrong word. Now yours for a mere 150,000 Yen.
https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u450690926
He's uploaded a fresh set of photos, most of which include the 7S26-0030, but in doing so hasn't helped his cause. The first one clearly shows the lateral slop between the bracelet links (which I'd pointed out in a post in the old forum's 7A38-7140 thread) and the edge-on view clearly shows the well-worn pushers (which weren't re-sprayed). Ooops !
Amusingly, it came up in conversation in a thread on SCWF about a fortnight ago. The previous owner didn't describe it in exactly glowing terms in his reply.
At least compared to how he previously described it in his FS advert on SCWF Trading Post in May 2020 (asking $450).

And so it goes on - ad nauseam. This morning, the hapless Japanese seller has further reduced the Buy-it-Now prices on his two parallel listings, by applying discounts of 5% and 13% respectively, reducing them to 95,000 and 130,000 Yen.
Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
The previous Instagram posts of the re-sprayed 7A38-7140, made by seiko_vintage_watch last year, had all been fairly innocuous, without a hint that it was for sale, but two days ago, he posted this blatant plug for his Yahoo Japan listing:Seiko7A38 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 8:04 pmWhich last resurfaced on Instagram, almost exactly a year ago, in June 2020, posted by its latest Japanese owner ....
Initially, I ignored it, but yesterday gave in to the temptation to add a comment or two. They were typically factual but sarcastic. To his credit (and much to my surprise), the Japanese owner / poster / would-be seller hasn't deleted them.
This morning the latest re-listing had been further slightly reduced to 90,000 Yen.

Realistically still a long way to go, assuming common sense prevails, but now you've got to include the Instagram WOW factor, where common sense frequently falls victim to bullsh!t and hype.
Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
To add to this ongoing farce, I see that Japanese profiteering cross-platform 'proxy' re-seller japan_pre-owned_vintage has just listed the same watch twice on eBay.com with two differently marked-up Buy-it-Now prices: $1388 and $1674 !
Edit: In their habitual manner, they went on to list it in parallel (twice each) across multiple eBay domains, including: .com.au, .at, .es, .fr, .it and .co.uk - so they now have it listed on eBay a dozen times so far !

Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
I take that back. The Japanese seller has since deleted not only my comments, but the entire Instagram post !
Instead of sensibly continuing to reduce the prices of his two YJ re-listings, he's foolishly decided to do an about turn.
The two latest 7-day re-listings have had their prices increased back up to 150,000 and 200,000 Yen respectively !
Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
Still, after that recent relapse, at least he's headed back in the right direction again. Now down to 'only' 85,000 Yen.Seiko7A38 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 6:58 amThis morning the latest re-listing had been further slightly reduced to 90,000 Yen.

A couple more would-be profiteering Japanese eBay 'proxy' re-sellers have since jumped on the bandwagon, the latest appeared overnight, listed by the inappropriately named nice-watch-jpn. This is most certainly not a nice watch !!Seiko7A38 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 9:18 amTo add to this ongoing farce, I see that Japanese profiteering cross-platform 'proxy' re-seller japan_pre-owned_vintage has just listed the same watch twice on eBay.com with two differently marked-up Buy-it-Now prices: $1388 and $1674 !

Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
I'm not sure what to make of this, but incredulity is high on my list of emotions. Over the weekend, deluded Japanese eBay seller popstyle10 had continued to frig around with his latest re-listing for the re-sprayed 7A38-7140, changing the 'Prompt Decision' Buy-it-Now price (first increasing it back up to 100,000 Yen) and listing duration. Frankly, by this time I was understandably already sick and tired of documenting his repeated shenanigans, so didn't bother to post again.
I ran a search on '7A38' on Yahoo Japan this morning, but his listing was unusually missing from the results summary.
So naturally, I clicked on the much re-used YJ item link: https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m506177254
Seems he'd further increased the price back up to 150,000 Yen, but this latest revision of the re-listing, which lasted only about an hour, yesterday afternoon, had been ended - as shown by the google translation of the listing header:
To compound this, checking my eBay watching page, the most recent Japanese eBay 'proxy' re-seller nice-watch-jpn had ended his listing late yesterday evening, allegedly because the item was sold (as opposed to no longer available).
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174844097810
Japanese eBay 'proxy' re-seller japan_pre-owned_vintage followed suit in the early hours of this morning.

To coin the favourite expression of Australian YouTuber Ozzie Man Reviews: F*ck Me ! After that brief hiatus, it's back on Yahoo Japan once again, re-listed for the nth time, using the same item number. This time @ 'only' 110,000 Yen, a figure I don't believe he's used before, which incidentally is a 26% discount on the previous ludicrous 150,000 Yen.

Deluded would-be YJ seller popstyle10's constant frigging around with his re-listings for the re-sprayed 7A38-7140 continue ad nauseam. I'd resolved that I wasn't going to bother posting any more updates until something changed significantly. It still hasn't, in terms of pricing or listing duration. This morning it's back down to 90,000 Yen again (discount of 40% on the base price of 150,000 Yen, for one day only). We've been there at least twice before.
https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m506177254
Other than to check whether it was an auction, fixed 'Prompt Decision' Buy-it-Now price or, as in this case, yet another 'discounted' listing, I'd stopped bothering to click on the summary page and look at the actual detail of the listing. Not sure what prompted me to do so this morning, but when I did, I got a little surprise. At some point in the proceedings, earlier this week, he'd added another (7th) photo, which I hadn't spotted before.

Re: The re-sprayed 7A38-7140 SAA051J listed on Yahoo Japan !
Last week, hapless Japanese seller popstyle10 had re-listed his re-sprayed 7A38-7140 yet again, with the Buy-it-Now price reduced to 85,000 Yen (the same as the lowest it had been once before).
https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m506177254
Needless to say, the outcome was fairly predictable.
I notice he's re-listed it again, for the umpteenth time this afternoon, with the Buy-it-Now price reduced to 80,000 Yen.
https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m506177254
At this rate, we might get down to a realistic sensible price by Christmas !
