Wearing my favourite 7A38-7020 Franken 709L dialed Mod on this sunny Summer morning. The lighter Seiko p/n Z1020S bracelet is more comfortable to wear when it's warm, than the standard B1171S.

Wearing this common-or-garden stainless 7A38-7280 SAA119J this morning. It's one of the first examples I acquired, back in March 2009. It just needed a new crystal and a good clean ....

.... oh and replacement of the missing inner section from an adjustment link.

As I received it, right out of the box, without a battery. NOS with tag.

Here's my 'twin' to James's Yema Spationaute III Aragatz. Though it's not the watch that I purchased from the same US eBay seller on 29th August. That's still incoming and probably at least a week away - currently somewhere in eBay's global shipping program. This is another almost identical NOS example I bought from US eBay seller watchaddict412 back in February 2018. It's case-back serial # is 5-658, 67 units after James's 5-591.

I'm betting you'll receive yours, then open the case and insert a working battery, all before I have mine opened to get it running (probably by a professional unless i acquire a proper tool). Would be interested in hearing whether it has no battery at all or a dead battery inside -- when I asked the seller she had no idea.

My newest incoming Yema Spationaute III Aragatz finally arrived from the States late this morning. (Midday by the time I found it) now fitted with a new battery. I wrote an update in 'our' thread. Here's a couple of slightly better wrist shots:

Something to brighten up a dull overcast Tuesday morning - 2 shots of my best condition example of the 7A38-701B SAA005J 'Vulcan'. This one (like the other two) is fitted with the correct Seiko p/n Z1118S bracelet. See this thread.

I'm wearing this NOS Orient J39701-70 this morning. Although identical to all intents and purposes, it's not the same watch that I posted here last August, but another NOS example I bought off eBay Italy recently, which arrived last week. Not like I really needed another - I just felt like treating myself (plus the seller had reduced the price considerably). On receiving it, seems I quickset the day / date in too much haste, because a couple of days later I noticed it was showing the wrong day. So to be certain I elected to let it cycle though a complete week. Turns out the change-over works fine.

It's been another busy month on eBay, as the 'Royal Oak' hype and price hiking continue unabated. Really glad I bought a couple before it all got too crazy. Probably my best example of the stainless 7A38-7020 SAA009J. It's mint - almost NOS condition. Cost a mere €226 Euros off eBay Germany in May 2018. Easily worth 4 times as much today (according to the speculators). :P

Not exactly NOS, but nearly as good as - my 7A38-7029 AA013M, built from a salesman's sample case and NOS bracelet.

A month without a single WRUW thread post - shame on me (and the rest of you). I replaced the battery in my stainless 'Poor Man's Jean Lassale Thalassa 7A74-017 yesterday, probably for only the second time in my ownership. I'd forgotten what a fiddly job it was to remove the case-back, with those eight tiny (M1) screws. I'd also forgotten what a delight that its bracelet (with more parts than a Rolls Royce engine) was to wear. So comfortable in fact, I've kept it on. :)

Wearing my most recently acquired NOS Yema Spationaute III Aragatz, subject of this other thread, on this dull overcast SATurday morning, which now thankfully appears to have miraculously recovered from its earlier timekeeping 'hiccup'.

Wearing this NOS condition Cartier Ferrari Formula Cal. 531 this SUNday morning. I went through my small collection of them earlier this week, checking for the 'two-second two-step' indicator and replacing batteries where necessary. This got one. I don't think I've ever looked it up before, but according to the 1988 brochure it's model number F659.44.83.

Apologies if that wrist shot's a bit grainy; the sky's overcast again and the light quality's poor. Here's a sharper photo of the same watch I took 10 years ago:

Wearing one of my second string stainless 7A38-7000 SAA007J's this morning. I paid £100 for this watch about 5 years ago (although it had some issues). According to everybody's favourite chancer, it's got to be worth £650 nowadays. :P

Wearing one of my three second string 7A38-7010 SAA001J's this morning. Replaced the battery in this one yesterday afternoon, so hadn't got round to putting it away in the collection box yet. This one's almost mint, save for a barely discernible scratch in the watch case's silver anodised coating.

Wearing this decent condition stainless 7A38-6080 SAA089J this morning, having replaced its battery (and a couple more from the same collection box besides) at the weekend.
