Reasonably priced 'NOS' 7A38-6060 SAA071J on eBay Italy

Some of the rarer more desirable 7A38's have turned up on eBay Italy over the years in NOS condition. However, they're frequently stupidly over-priced and often not quite as 'NOS' as the might be. Case in point. This mint 7A38-6060, fitted with an incongruous tan leather strap, which appears to have been crudely notched to fit the 18mm lug width, was listed at lunchtime yesterday, by an Italian seller. However, his asking price is quite reasonable, compared to some - €350 Euros (or Best Offer).

I must admit, I was surprised that it hadn't been snatched up overnight. Not by myself, I hasten to add. I already have two 'NOS' 7A38-6060's, fitted with non-original silicone straps.

Checking my eBay watching page, I see that NOS 7A38-6060 SAA071J (head) sold late yesterday afternoon for the €350 Euros Buy-it-Now asking price. My only surprise is that it took 6 days to find a buyer.

It may be a wild guess on my part, but I believe the same NOS condition 7A38-6060 rocked up on Instagram yesterday, posted by sand.sti (Stian Sandvik). It's now fitted with a non-original bracelet whose finish very closely matches the carbonised titanium of the watch case. I see Rob Lambert asked about the strap - Stian gave a typically cagey reply.

It's remarkable how supposedly 'new old stock' examples of these relatively scarce variants still keep turning up on eBay Italy after all these years. Another NOS 7A38-6060 SAA071J was listed yesterday afternoon. This one is double the price of the previous example - the seller is asking €700 Euros !

He claims in the description that it is COMPLETAMENTE OROGINALE!! It does appear to be fitted with the correct p/n ZPA22D perforated leather strap. However that has seen better days, showing signs of delamination. Not only that, but some incompetent has removed it and re-fitted it inside out, scratching the undersides of the case lugs in the process.
