From my numerous posts slating them, I may have given readers the impression that asking ridiculous four-figure sums for Seiko 7A38's was a trait peculiar to Italian eBay sellers. Seems not to be the case any more. This admittedly very nice, well cared for used example of the 7A38-7070 SAA031J was listed earlier this morning by a German eBay seller, as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of 1499 Euros !
Oddly, the seller has only uploaded one head-on view photo of the watch (as his primary image), with three of the reverse side and three more of the case-back. Looking at his feedback and other items for sale, he appears to deal primarily in collectable vinyl records, vintage cameras and other antiques, rather than watches. So perhaps he may eventually realize that he's significantly over-priced it.

How much for a nice condition used 7A38-7070 ??
Re: How much for a nice condition used 7A38-7070 ??
I love very much Seiko 7Axx watches but I think recently the prices are "no sense" example.
I have some 7Axx watches but the maximum price (in my opinion) for a good watch well aged could be around 300€ not more...
But the watch word often are a good example of "no sense" .
Unfortunately for this "no sense" evolution I stopped to buy this watch...
Too much money for me

Seems it was too much money for anybody else !
For the last year, German eBay seller d.hasenmecki has continued to re-list that 7A38-7070 almost once per week, always as a 7-day auction, stubbornly sticking to the same grossly over-optimistic opening bid price of €1499 Euros.
The most recent re-listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225197883796
.... ended yesterday morning with it unsold once again:

Nearly 2½ years since it first appeared, deluded German eBay seller d.hasenmecki is still re-listing that 7A38-7070, almost continuously, every 7 days, doggedly sticking to the same totally unrealistic opening bid price of €1499 Euros.
Today, there was something to compare it to - albeit VERY briefly.
A 7A38-7070, in similar little worn condition, was listed on eBay Germany with a Buy-it-Now price of €124.79 Euros !
Even with 20% VAT added (€149.75), that's a TENTH of the price of the other one. Somebody snagged a real bargain.

I saw it too late unfortunately. Checking WatchCount.com's look-up tool, the listing was live for less than 8 minutes.
