Was anybody else watching this ? An almost mint, but not NOS, condition 7A38-6040 SJS038 was listed on Yahoo Japan last weekend, as 6-day auction with an opening bid price of 50,000 Yen. I placed an initial bid of 52,000 Yen on it, not expecting any realistic chance of winning it. A couple of hours later, a bid cancellation notice landed in my inbox.
I was annoyed, but I as knew I wouldn't be prepared to pay the price, resigned myself to being a spectator. Presumably for reasons best known to himself, the Japanese seller was blocking all bidders using Buyee (not just mine). I tried to place a bid again later, a couple of times, only to be met with the same message: an unexpected error occured.
I'd still kept it on my Buyee watching page. Half an hour ago, the watched item ending soon notification arrived in my inbox. By then the bidding had only reached 61,000 Yen. I thought to myself 'Nah - that'll go on a while longer'.
Indeed, I caught it just within the last 5 minutes of the total automatic extension time of 25 minutes.

That's how it ended, with bidding @ ¥131,000 Yen after 44 bids - equivalent to approx. $1190.10 USD / £864.35 GBP.
