The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Following logically on from yesterday (at the bottom of the previous page), I'm wearing one of my (two) NOS condition light gunmetal two-tone 7A38-7250 SAA080J's. The colour combination with a beige dial is so 1980's. I hadn't worn this particular example in over two years and it was one of the watches I replaced the battery in on Monday.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing this almost mint two-tone 7A38-726A SAA102J, fitted with the correct original Seiko p/n BRJ36G leather strap. The watch has been in my collection since June 2009, but it took me nearly 8 years, till March 2017, to find the correct strap. Full story here in an earlier post.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing something different for this blue SATurday - a Kamatz 517000, in NOS condition, still fitted with its original Poljot branded cardboard consistency 'leather' strap.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
New month and time for another red SUNday. Wearing my Cartier Ferrari Formula Cal. 531, model # F6444401 today.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Back to working my way through my collection box of 7A38-724x/-725x and 726x. This morning I'm wearing this stainless 7A38-7260 SAA097J fitted with an aftermarket teju lizard strap. I actually prefer this to the OEM Seiko BRA35S strap.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing a two-tone 7A38-7260 SAA098J this morning. This one's fitted with the correct original Seiko p/n BRZ16G grey leather strap, which was a German market option as SAA098J3.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Although I have three more gold-tone 7A38-7260 SAA100J's fitted with the correct original Seiko p/n BRJ27G strap, this one, fitted with an aftermarket lizard strap (by Iw Suisse) is my real favourite. The rich tobacco colour goes so well.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Unlike its 7A38-724x and 7A38-725x siblings, the 7A38-7260 (and -726A) only ever came factory fitted with leather straps. Back in 2009, I must have had a surplus of two-tone 7A38-7260's (and plenty of time on my hands), because I fitted a non-original Seiko p/n Z1623.E bracelet to one of mine. It still survives in that configuration to this day.
It wasn't just a matter of snapping it into place. I remember it was a fiddly job, painstakingly re-radiusing the bracelet's end pieces to get a perfect fit (the 7A38-726x watch case isn't circular, not even between the lugs). I was pleased with the result and took this comparison side-by-side photo, with my similar appearing 7A38-7240, back in December 2009.
Interesting little postscript, re. the source of the bracelet, which I hadn't managed to uncover before this morning, The ears of the end pieces are stamped Z1623.E. So, following normal Seiko convention, for a two-tone version, I'd assumed that the part number would be Z1623C, for the last 13 years. Wrongly as it transpires. I know I'd searched for it before and come up empty. This morning I inadvertently keyed Z1623 into Seiko Oceania's database without the suffix and finally came up trumps. There are two versions of the Z1623.E bracelet - Z1623K and Z1623L !! They're fitted to a US export quartz analogue day / date model 5Y23-8289, which came in gold-tone and two-tone (as SCZ424P and SCZ426P). I managed to find current eBay listings for both as sample cases. https://www.ebay.com/itm/284533374590
Note to self. In future, refer to the bracelet p/n as Z1623L (not Z1623C).

Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing this NOS condition stainless 7A38-7260 SAA097J, fitted with the original Seiko p/n BRA35S black leather strap.
For ease, I copied that caption from an earlier post here, but it's not the same stainless 7A38-7260 SAA097J. I bought this one from another Italian eBay seller in March 2014. Funnily enough it also has an 8Dxxxx serial number. However, thinking back, I'm not absolutely sure it's still fitted with the same strap it came on. Here are the seller's 3 photos:
It is now fitted with the correct Seiko p/n BRA35S, whereas the strap it came fitted with, although similar appearing and embossed the same, was less padded and had two floating keepers (as opposed to one fixed and one floating).

Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Lazy choice for me - wearing this Yema Spationaute III Aragatz on this blue SATurday morning.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
I can't remember which of my nine Yema N8 Flygrafs I'd already posted in the WRUW thread this year, so I took pot luck !
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing this NOS condition gold-tone 7A38-7260 SAA100J, fitted with the original Seiko p/n BRJ37G tan leather strap.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Apart from posting duplicates, I've nearly finished working my way through my 7A38-724x/-725x/-726x collection box. But seeing as this watch has only made one prior appearance in the WRUW thread, when I first acquired it, two years ago, I thought it deserved another. Wearing my almost mint two-tone 7A38-726A SAA102J, fitted with the optional German market BRJ38G leather strap, this morning. Pity the photo came out a bit dark.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing this 'grab and go' stainless 7A38-7270 SAA093J 'beater' this morning, for want of anything closer to hand. This is the last (tenth?) example of this model, that I bought in June 2020 from a UK eBay seller. There's no space left in my 7A38-727x collection box, so this one, along with three other lesser examples, has never been put away. It's got a few tiny dings and swirlies, but isn't so bad as to warrant re-finishing. Hence it's likely to remain in the 'grab and go' pool.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Thoroughly dismal day, weather-wise today. I managed to grab this quick shot of my 7A38-7070 SAA031J 'beater' (the one fitted with a Yobokies' repro' bezel insert), between the showers. Excuse the couple of tiny raindrops on the crystal.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Another miserable wet morning. I nearly had to resort to an indoor flash-lit shot. Thankfully there was a brief respite in the weather and I managed to grab this shot of my favourite Orient J39701-70 with the 1985 Indianapolis 500 dial logo.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing this NOS condition Yema Spationaute III Aragatz on this blue SATurday morning.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing this NOS condition 1989 Yema N8 Flygraf this morning. This is the first example I bought with cream coloured lume, off eBay in the States in March 2013 for $199. For more detail and photos, see the old archived forum thread.
Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Wearing this Junghans High Tech Chrono 24/4610 on this chilly Monday morning.
This tidy example was built up using the surprise 'freebee' case and bracelet, courtesy of German eBay seller Klaus:
