Hello Spammer; Goodbye Spammer !!
Re: Hello Spammer; Goodbye Spammer !!
The bots continue to swarm around the forum in ever increasing numbers, but so far are having little or no effect on response times. I missed their latest high count earlier this afternoon, when it reached a new record of 1631 !
Re: Hello Spammer; Goodbye Spammer !!
This afternoon, the forum suffered it's first SPAM attack in over 18 months. A newly registered member Bryanmark11 posted 16 posts in the space of two minutes - one in almost every forum section !!
He stated his location as 'Sweden' but an IP location check showed London UK. Presumably he was using a VPN. I didn't bother checking all of the posts, but the couple I did skim read were about buying fake currencies.
Needless to say, I immediately banned the ID and all evidence of his visit was quickly deleted in a couple of keystrokes.
For good measure I also reported him to stopforumspam.com where he had recent history.

Re: Hello Spammer; Goodbye Spammer !!
In the early hours of this morning, the forum was hacked by another spammer, who registered as lalo233 using the email address pumalalo206@gmail.com and IP address 23.106.169.120.
In the two minutes he was signed in to the forum, he only made two posts, one in the Gerneral Discussion section and the other in 'Other Watch Forums Sales Corners'. They were well written, slightly different, but both extolled the virtues of recent enhancements to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (an upcoming first-person shooter game).
Needless to say he's been banned and deleted. I also reported his activity to stopforumspam.com, where a quick search showed he's been active and using these (and other) credentials on other forums since November 2024.

At the risk of repeating myself, I missed another bot swarm activity peak yesterday evening. It's now up to 1845 !
