Some 9 years ago, no disrespect to the late Roger Moore intended, I started a thread on the old forum, cheekily titled:
Would you buy a watch worn by 007 Roger 'eyebrows' Moore ? It was posted in the eBay forum section and intended to poke fun at some of the rather over-optimistic prices then being being asked by eBay sellers: notably the Germans and Italians. I added updates sporadically and it eventually ran to 3 pages and received 15,000 views along the way.
Incidentally, there are still two examples being re-listed by German and Italian eBay sellers, with asking prices of 1100 and 1500 Euros. No great surprise, they're the same sellers / watches I posted in the old thread back in August 2020.
I've no intention of continuing that running commentary. However, the demand elsewhere still appears to be strong. Last weekend, a decent example was listed on Yahoo Japan as a 7-day auction with a low opening bid price of 100 Yen. I couldn't fail to spot it because the seller had included '7A38' at the end of his listing title. I duly added it to my Buyee watching page, purely out of curiosity. The auction ended about 5 minutes ago. The default automatic extension of the finishing time was enabled, but nobody bid after the last 10 minute window (when I took my screenshot below).

So that's how it ended - sold for a hefty ¥141,000 Yen after 86 bids, equivalent to approx. $1285.50 USD / £932.10 GBP.

That's a nice looking style. It's one of the things I like about these dressier references, slim and elegant.
