Strong money for a watch needing fixing or am I wrong :?:
Was watching this with a view to buying but I suppose the call of "Bond" and the fact it's a sweet looker launched it out of my orbit.

Colum.
£361.51 achieved at auction by a 7A28-7020 SPR007J isn't too outlandish by today's standards. These watches in mint condition have fetched £1000 before. You'll note that the seller didn't mention the 'James Bond 007 / View to a kill' connection (which has since been bought into question), but enough enthusiasts will have recognised it as such.

I had to smile to myself when I read their description of the fault:
Requires Repair - New batteries fitted, runs however the chronograph hand does not reset to 12 and can't be adjusted
This does of course sound like the common self-inflicted displaced centre seconds finger tension spring problem.

Yes I did read of that condition and wonder lol. Is this the 7A28/38 equivalent of listing a watch as "untested, needs battery"

I've bought from them before, a 7t62 flightmaster which was a non runner. It went for strong enough money too. No doubt fellow amateur watch meddlers like myself with ambitions to bung in a new cheap movement saw a cheap flighty. Only thing was they failed to mention buttons A and B screw down crowns were comprehensively seized. In short I'm cautious of them, they distance themselves from the product and description is vague. Hanlon's razor only goes so far.

I'd like the 7A38 version of this but yes from researching today they do seem to fetch the bigger numbers. I have to ask...how many have you ?

As I guessed lol :D
Your 7A horde is probably a surer bet than pension contributions in today fiscal market!

I'm going to state that I prefer the 7020's egg shell white (?) over the 7060's pearlescent dial, assuming I'm correct in that.
I really love white faced seiko chronos and will keep my eyes peeled, but it's going to be a slow burner as I'm not dropping anything close to a thousand for one.
In the meantime my beloved first watch which I got going again will have to suffice.
