So here's a quick interim update. He's since made a few revisions to the listing.

The ludicrous Buy-it-Now price is currently down to 649 Euros - still way more than double what this example is worth.

It may have taken him nearly 2 months and a further revision / reduction in his ludicrous Buy-it-Now price to 599 Euros (two days earlier), but yesterday afternoon, profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk finally found a mug punter buyer for his latest well-worn stainless 7A38-7020 mit Seiko Official Timer pin. Hard to believe that someone would be desperate or stupid enough to pay that much for a relatively poor example with a misaligned bezel.

Here we go again. At lunchtime today, greedy profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk listed yet another well-worn stainless 7A38-7020, with a Buy-it-Now price of 699 Euros. Same old MO: supposedly 'a full set' comprising a secondhand Seiko presentation box and dog-eared looking user instruction manual and of course the obligatory, but almost irrelevant Seiko Official Timer pin (worth about 5 Euros max). Once again he's uploaded an unauthorised copy of MY scan of pages 17 and 18 of the 1984 Seiko Sport Tech brochure as his eighth image. (See this other related thread).

He hasn't bothered to obscure the case-back serial number (3D5176) in his fourth photo. I'll admit I haven't wasted much time trying to find where he bought it and how much he paid for it. What I do know, for certain, is that better examples of the stainless 7A38-7020 can regularly be picked up off eBay Germany for much less than half his inflated asking price and occasionally, with a bit of diligent searching, for a LOT less. Anything else I write is unlikely to have any effect on the eventual outcome; it's now just a matter of waiting for his next gullible mug punter victim to come along.

Belatedly checking my eBay watching page, it appeared that profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk had already found himself another unwitting victim: his latest UEFA hyped stainless 7A38-7020 mit Official Timer pin sold yesterday morning for an undisclosed best offer:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294605733108

However, common sense appears to have prevailed, temporarily at least, because it was back on eBay again, re-listed yesterday evening, as if nothing had happened.

As I wrote above, I haven't had much success (nor, in truth expended too much effort) recently in tracking the source of profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk's seemingly never ending supply of well-worn stainless 7A38-7020's. There have been a good many such listed and sold on eBay Germany in recent weeks. Occasionally, the pointers are just too obvious to miss. This badly scuffed example, typical of his usual stock in trade, was listed as a 7-day auction on 10th December, with an opening bid price of 20 Euros.

Here's another no better than average condition stainless 7A38-7020 that's destined to re-appear as another of greedy profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk's grossly over-priced UEFA hyped offerings in the not too distant future.

It was originally listed on eBay Germany last week as a 3-day auction with a low start opening bid price of 1 Euro:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seiko-Chrono ... 3829158221

7A38-7020-Stainless+Grey-eBay(Germany)-Dec2021-AndYetAnotherFFS-Ended-Sold-251Euros.png

It theoretically sold for 251 Euros after 12 bids, which personally I would consider a reasonable price, but evidently the German eBay seller had set higher expectations, because he'd also listed it in parallel as a Buy-it-Now for 390 Euros:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seiko-Chrono ... 3829342967

He (or the buyer) appears to have reneged on the transaction and it was subsequently re-listed as a one-day auction:

To no great surprise, yesterday evening, profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk listed yet another UEFA-hyped stainless 7A38-7020, with a typical greedily marked-up Buy-it-Now price of 799 Euros. As with all his recent listings, it's made up to look like a 'full set', with Seiko presentation box and user instruction manual and of course the obligatory (but irrelevant) Seiko Official Timer pin. This time he's only bothered uploading 4 photos, plus the usual 'borrowed' scan of pages 17 and 18 of my 1984 Seiko Sport Tech manual. :x There's no clear shot of the case-back and because I can't precisely match the scratches and dings in the case and bezel, I'm unsure whether this watch is actually either of the previous two I'd forecasted. It may be another one he's bought. :|

Although I'd overlooked to add any updates to this thread recently, I hadn't forgotten about the continuing nefarious activities of profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk. I've just been otherwise preoccupied - and admittedly become a little jaded, seemingly pointlessly repeating myself.

On 6th February, he listed yet another well-worn stainless 7A38-7020, with a typical ridiculous extortionately marked-up Buy-it-Now price of 849 Euros. Unlike his recent previous listings, this time he hasn't bothered to include the obligatory, but in reality almost irrelevant, Seiko 'Official Timer' pin.

It's impossible to read the case-back serial number in his 4th photo. I ought to be able to identify the watch from the number of small dings in the bezel and the bracelet's twisted first joining link on the 6 o'clock side. But frankly I can't be arsed to trawl back through my photo folders to find a match. Besides, it seems to make no difference, even when I can prove that he paid 250 Euros or less for a particular watch; some gullible mug punter will always come along.

Anyway, what prompted me to add this belated update, is I noticed that early this morning, he'd revised the listing, finally reducing the Buy-it-Now price from 849 Euros to a marginally less ridiculous 799 Euros, although he's currently removed the option to make an offer.

Inevitable it seems. Earlier this morning, profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk found himself another gullible mug punter willing to pay well over the odds for another only average well-worn condition stainless 7A38-7020.

Profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk has been dormant for a few months. Perhaps he's met with too much competition for the lucrative 7A38-7020 'Royal Oak' market recently, from the likes of his compatriot TiccTacc. He's back this morning, on his old form, listing an average stainless 7A38-7020 with a typically greedy Buy-it-Now price of €899 Euros. There's a new twist to this latest UEFA themed listing. Instead of a random Seiko 'Official Timer' pin badge, he's now including a 1984 European Championship sticker, with 'Peno' mascot. I wonder where he got that idea from ? Probably the same place as my original scan of pages 17 and 18 of the 1984 Seiko Sport Tech brochure that he stole and continues to re-use in every one of his 7A38-7020 listings.

He hasn't uploaded any clear shot of the case-back, so I've got no serial number to help positively identify where he bought it what he actually paid for it. It's likely that the 'full set' was made up from loose accessories as so many are.

Checking my eBay watching page, I see that profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk ended his most recent UEFA hyped listing for a stainless 7A38-7020 yesterday morning, in his usual preferred manner - as item no longer available.

Profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk (a.k.a Björn Kalscheuer) has been notable for his absence from these pages, so far this year. I assumed he'd given up in the face of too much competition from other German dealers like m.a.k.2979 and Ticctacc. But seems he's not gone away altogether; more's the pity.

This morning he listed a stainless 7A38-7020 - his favourite stock in trade, with a Buy-it-Now price of €1199 Euros.

The watch is in no better than average worn condition, with a typically scuffed bezel and a noticeable ding on the bottom L.H. corner of the watch case. Although the serial number is shown, unfortunately I haven't been able to discover where he sourced it. In a half-hearted attempt at giving the pretence of a full set, he's including a Japanese (JDM) guarantee booklet and an empty blue plastic hang tag (of the wrong style). As with his previous listings, he's including a SEIKO 'Official Timer' pin, but surprisingly omitted to mention the UEFA Euro 84 connection in this listing.

Checking my eBay watching page, I see that profiteering German eBay re-seller quartzwerk's latest stainless 7A38-7020 sold yesterday morning for a reduced Buy-it-Now price of €899 Euros (or possibly for a lower undisclosed best offer).

Note that in September, he revised the re-listing, changing the primary image, thereby adding a UEFA Euro '88 sticker into the package. Of course, the stainless 7A38-7020 SAA009J was the official watch of the 1984 tournament.
