flobaca regularly obtains his by conducting 'back door' deals, making it more difficult. Other times he'll give himself away.
When times are hard, profiteering US eBay re-seller
flobaca sometimes deviates from his preferred prey of 7A38-702x's and scavenges other less desirable common-or-garden Seiko 7A38 models. He's re-sold a few 7A38-7069's over the years.
Two-tone 7A38-7270's crop up on eBay in the States fairly regularly. Going back a few years, they were very much the province of another erstwhile profiteering US eBay re-seller
worldwideweb66 (cited in
this old forum's thread), who similarly used another eBay ID
kyiaye (which coincidentally also has private feedback) to purchase his stock in trade.
Indeed, I'll admit when I saw this, he was my first thought. That said, when Wai Phyo was regularly dealing in 7A38's (he's not dabbled in many years), the watches he purchased for resale were generally of a decent standard. The fact that this one certainly isn't and the lowballing M.O. point to profiteering US eBay re-seller
flobaca being the culprit. Gentlemen, I give you my prediction for one of his next forthcoming botched-up over-priced 7A38 offerings ....
This well-worn two-tone 7A38-7270, with a smashed crystal, that had lain unworn and neglected since 2005, was listed yesterday evening by a US eBay seller, for parts or possible repair, as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of $15.

If you check
the item's revision history, you'll see the US eBay seller was later persuaded to add a Buy-it-Now option.
