Flobaca must have had second thoughts about fitting that gash crown. Looking at his most recent re-listing, I see he's changed it for another incorrect crown - still undersized and gold coloured - so I hesitate to use the word 'better'.Seiko7A38 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 30, 2025 9:59 am
His fitment of the undersized replacement crown, which looks like it might be brass and as if it has been filed down, is typical of his penny-pinching and botching. The correct original Seiko crown, p/n 45M76NS1 is still freely available, including, for example from Cousins UK for £6.95 + VAT.

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
On Tuesday 16th September flobaca made a number of revisions to his latest re-listing.
These included replacing the entire set of photos again. Seems he eventually decided to fit the correct Seiko crown.
The following day a bid was placed. The 7-day auction ended in the early hours of this morning selling for the slightly reduced opening bid price of $700.

Looks like that sale has fallen through.
Flobaca's 'triple crown' 7A38-7029 was back on eBay again yesterday evening, re-listed for the third time. Note he's also greedily increased the opening bid price to $800.
(It was originally $750).

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
Here's my next prediction for another of flobaca's forthcoming over-priced offerings. It was a 7-day auction for an average worn condition two-tone 7A38-7270, which he sniped in the closing seconds, yesterday, to win for $152.50.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/197714429823
For future reference, the case-back serial number is 778299.

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
As I predicted in my previous post, profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca listed that average worn two-tone 7A38-7270 overnight as a 7-day auction with a typically unrealistic opening bid price of $275.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/357703914291
Needless to say, the case-back serial number 778299 matches.

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
He listed another 7A38 a few minutes later - a 7A38-6109 'Diver', fitted with a non-original replacement 'President' style bracelet. Again, a 7-day auction listing, with a risibly over-optimistic opening bid price of $325.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/357703931117
This watch came from a low start 7-day auction in the last week of September, for a job lot pairing of the 7A38-6109 and a 5T52-6A39 World Timer. Flobaca sniped it in the closing seconds to win the job lot pair for $135.50.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/236347081723
The photos posted by the original seller don't show the case-back serial number, but there's no doubt in my mind. If any further proof were required, the next watch listed overnight by Flobaca was a gold-tone 5T52-6A39 World Timer.

Although he still hasn't managed to sell the previous example (due to his laughable $525 asking price), profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca is always on the lookout for his next fast buck. Here's my prediction for his next 7A38-702H - a rather grubby example whose 5-day auction ended yesterday, selling for $152.50 after 8 bids.

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
Actually I could have made this prediction five days ago. When I first saw this US eBay listing for a 7A38-7069, I immediately thought to myself - flobaca fodder.
But I decided to wait for the outcome of the 5-day auction.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/306548555212
It ended in the early hours of this morning, selling for $103.50 after 19 bids:
As is his customary manner, flobaca sniped it in the closing seconds using his alter ego zenodass44.

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
Flobaca still hasn't managed to sell his previous 7A38-702H (due to the laughable $525 asking price), but that hasn't stopped him from listing another example overnight - the one I'd predicted in my earlier (partially quoted) post. He's asking an even more ridiculous $550 for this one, particularly in view of the fact that he's half-heartedly stripped most of the gold plating from the bezel; whereas he'd left the previous one's plating intact.Seiko7A38 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 16, 2025 11:03 amAlthough he still hasn't managed to sell the previous example (due to his laughable $525 asking price), profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca is always on the lookout for his next fast buck. Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
Overnight, profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca listed another 7A38 - this time a two-tone 7A38-7020, which I hadn't predicted. It's a 7-day auction with a typically greedy unrealistic opening bid price of $550. As he regularly does, he's stripped the remaining gold plating from the bezel and polished it. For reasons best known to himself, he's also fitted an under-sized gold-plated crown, similar to that which he tried on his 7A38-7029. See my post at the top of this page.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/227065880785
Although I'd saved the photos and quickly matched the distinctive case-back serial number, 445566, it took me a little longer than usual to find the eBay listing where flobaca had bought it, because the previous US seller had erroneously listed it as a 7A38-702H, rather than a 7A38-7020. It was listed on 10th September as a Buy-it-Now for $349.99, with the option to make an offer. Presumably flobaca offered his usual $225 or less and the seller hastily accepted.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286812470908
Here's just a few of the original seller's 17 photos. Note the watch was then fitted with the correct crown.

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
That latest addition of the two-tone 7A38-7020 brings flobaca's current tally of unsold 7A38's listed on eBay to EIGHT - certainly more than I can remember seeing in a while. Here's a quick run-down in descending date order.
The eBay item number shown is the current re-listing (or first listing in the case of the two-tone 7A38-7020). The dates shown are the date the watch was first listed; the oldest being the 7A38-7000 fitted with an incorrect replacement bracelet on June 22nd. Because they're not selling, flobaca has made a few reductions in opening bid price, notably on the 7A38-6109 fitted with a generic bracelet, down 23% from $325 to $250, which I have annotated on my screen shots.

It never ceases to amaze me how flobaca manages to find a never-ending stream of gullible mug punters willing to part with their money. His 'polished turd' of a two-tone 7A38-7020 sold yesterday for the $550 opening bid price.Seiko7A38 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 9:25 am Overnight, profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca listed another 7A38 - this time a two-tone 7A38-7020, which I hadn't predicted. Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
Profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca continues to add to his stock in trade. Yesterday afternoon he bought yet another 7A38-7069, in typically well worn non-working condition for $77.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/336283116323
Per his usual modus operandi, he sniped the 7-day auction in the closing seconds, using his alter ego zenodass44 to win.
Looking at the photo of the movement back-plate, I'd suspect it has suffered a serious battery leak at some point.
For future reference, the case-back serial number is 452471.

After re-listing it a total of 10 times, flobaca's most recent 7A38-7069 (from September, see bottom of previous page) eventually sold in the early hours of this morning, for the reduced opening bid price of $200.Seiko7A38 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 8:51 amHe didn't have another immediately lined up in waiting, but it wasn't very long in coming. Profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca is struggling to shift his 'triple crown' 7A38-7029. That most recent (second) sale, posted above, also appears to have fallen through. It was back on eBay, re-listed yet again for the umpteenth time, in the early hours of this morning; this time with an opening bid price of 'only' $650 (rather than $750 or $800). Perhaps that'll be low enough to snare another mug punter.

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
Flobaca's latest listing overnight initially caught me by surprise, because at first glance, it looked very much like the previous re-listing - even the SUNday was the same. However it's not another 7A38-7029, but a stainless 7A38-7020.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/358017468661
I haven't yet managed to determine where he bought it, but in all likelihood he paid less than his self-imposed limit of $225 for it. Once again, this watch is fitted with the wrong gold-tone crown. Looks like he might have been a hurry to get it listed, because this time, he hasn't bothered to polish the top edge of the bezel or replace the scratched crystal.

I really don't know why he bothers to try it on.
Once again, devious US eBay re-seller flobaca has seen fit to replace that gold-tone crown on his stainless 7A38-7020 with the correct one. He re-listed it in the early hours of this morning, with a fresh set of photos and a slightly reduced opening bid price of $625.

Re: Profiteering US eBay re-seller Flobaca strikes again !
If you're following flobaca's eBay activities, you'll no doubt have noticed that he never includes the full model number in either titles or descriptions of his listings. Just '7A38'. There's a reason for this. He's obviously (re)using a template, which he tweaks slightly for each listing. It also allows him a certain 'flexibility' as you'll see in this instance.
I'd been waiting impatiently all month for him to list his next two-tone 7A38-7069. He'd sold the previous example at the end of November, but had bought two more cheap well-worn examples in the interim. See my posts higher up the page. I was half expecting he might build 'a good one' (I use that term advisedly) out of the two. One was missing a bracelet end piece and the other had a battery acid damaged movement. It finally appeared on Sunday evening, as the usual 7-day auction with a $250 opening bid price.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/358061862080
However there's a twist to this one, because it doesn't have the case-back from either of those two 7A38-7069's. For reasons known only to him, it's fitted with the wrong case-back from the similar appearing two-tone 7A38-7060 !
In fact I'd 'bookmarked' this listing when I saw it sold very cheaply at the beginning of December, for a mere $69 !!
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205894751517
The reason I hadn't predicted it was that I wasn't 100% sure it was him.
Needless to say, the (wrong) case-back serial number 8N6155 matches.
