His fitment of the undersized replacement crown, which looks like it might be brass and as if it has been filed down, is typical of his penny-pinching and botching. The correct original Seiko crown, p/n 45M76NS1 is still freely available, including, for example from Cousins UK for £6.95 + VAT.
Flobaca must have had second thoughts about fitting that gash crown. Looking at his most recent re-listing, I see he's changed it for another incorrect crown - still undersized and gold coloured - so I hesitate to use the word 'better'.

On Tuesday 16th September flobaca made a number of revisions to his latest re-listing.

These included replacing the entire set of photos again. Seems he eventually decided to fit the correct Seiko crown.

The following day a bid was placed. The 7-day auction ended in the early hours of this morning selling for the slightly reduced opening bid price of $700.

Looks like that sale has fallen through. :| Flobaca's 'triple crown' 7A38-7029 was back on eBay again yesterday evening, re-listed for the third time. Note he's also greedily increased the opening bid price to $800. (It was originally $750).

Here's my next prediction for another of flobaca's forthcoming over-priced offerings. It was a 7-day auction for an average worn condition two-tone 7A38-7270, which he sniped in the closing seconds, yesterday, to win for $152.50.

As I predicted in my previous post, profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca listed that average worn two-tone 7A38-7270 overnight as a 7-day auction with a typically unrealistic opening bid price of $275.

He listed another 7A38 a few minutes later - a 7A38-6109 'Diver', fitted with a non-original replacement 'President' style bracelet. Again, a 7-day auction listing, with a risibly over-optimistic opening bid price of $325.

This watch came from a low start 7-day auction in the last week of September, for a job lot pairing of the 7A38-6109 and a 5T52-6A39 World Timer. Flobaca sniped it in the closing seconds to win the job lot pair for $135.50.

The photos posted by the original seller don't show the case-back serial number, but there's no doubt in my mind. If any further proof were required, the next watch listed overnight by Flobaca was a gold-tone 5T52-6A39 World Timer.

Although he still hasn't managed to sell the previous example (due to his laughable $525 asking price), profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca is always on the lookout for his next fast buck. Here's my prediction for his next 7A38-702H - a rather grubby example whose 5-day auction ended yesterday, selling for $152.50 after 8 bids.

Actually I could have made this prediction five days ago. When I first saw this US eBay listing for a 7A38-7069, I immediately thought to myself - flobaca fodder. 8-) But I decided to wait for the outcome of the 5-day auction.

It ended in the early hours of this morning, selling for $103.50 after 19 bids:

Flobaca still hasn't managed to sell his previous 7A38-702H (due to the laughable $525 asking price), but that hasn't stopped him from listing another example overnight - the one I'd predicted in my earlier (partially quoted) post. He's asking an even more ridiculous $550 for this one, particularly in view of the fact that he's half-heartedly stripped most of the gold plating from the bezel; whereas he'd left the previous one's plating intact.

Overnight, profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca listed another 7A38 - this time a two-tone 7A38-7020, which I hadn't predicted. It's a 7-day auction with a typically greedy unrealistic opening bid price of $550. As he regularly does, he's stripped the remaining gold plating from the bezel and polished it. For reasons best known to himself, he's also fitted an under-sized gold-plated crown, similar to that which he tried on his 7A38-7029. See my post at the top of this page.

Although I'd saved the photos and quickly matched the distinctive case-back serial number, 445566, it took me a little longer than usual to find the eBay listing where flobaca had bought it, because the previous US seller had erroneously listed it as a 7A38-702H, rather than a 7A38-7020. It was listed on 10th September as a Buy-it-Now for $349.99, with the option to make an offer. Presumably flobaca offered his usual $225 or less and the seller hastily accepted.

That latest addition of the two-tone 7A38-7020 brings flobaca's current tally of unsold 7A38's listed on eBay to EIGHT - certainly more than I can remember seeing in a while. Here's a quick run-down in descending date order.

The eBay item number shown is the current re-listing (or first listing in the case of the two-tone 7A38-7020). The dates shown are the date the watch was first listed; the oldest being the 7A38-7000 fitted with an incorrect replacement bracelet on June 22nd. Because they're not selling, flobaca has made a few reductions in opening bid price, notably on the 7A38-6109 fitted with a generic bracelet, down from $325 to $250, which I have annotated on my screen shots.
