I've long since lost count of the number of 7-day re-listings, but it took US eBay re-seller flobaca seven months to find a mug punter buyer for that particular well-worn 7A38-7069. It finally sold yesterday afternoon to a novice buyer (with feedback of 1) for the reduced opening bid price of $230.

I suspect that flobaca has his next 7A38-7069 lined up already. This well worn example was listed yesterday by another unsuspecting US eBay seller, as a 7-day auction, with an opening bid price of $29.99. Checking the bidding history as it stands, the first and only bidder, with encypted ID 9***4 and private feedback is zenodass44, flobaca's alter ego.

The outcome of that 7A38-7069 is yet to be determined. Flobaca has been outbid by a couple of other bidders and there are still two days of the auction left to run. Edit: he didn't bother bidding again.

However, flobaca's next 7A38-702x is already assured. Yesterday evening, he appears to have persuaded a US eBay seller to end their listing early (a frequently used tactic of his) and sell it for a mere $9.99 ! :o It's not a 7A38-7029 (per the listing title), but a two-tone 7A38-7020 - and a pretty poor example at that.

Meanwhile, flobaca evidently already had another two-tone 7A38-702x up his sleeve. Yesterday afternoon he listed this well-worn 7A38-702H, fitted with a non-original gold-tone Seiko p/n Z163 bracelet, as a 7-day auction with an opening bid of $240, or the option to make an offer. It's also fitted with a non-original replacement crown.

Checking my eBay watching page, profiteering US re-seller finally found himself a mug punter buyer for that gold-tone 7A38-7000 fitted with a non-original replacement bracelet, which he'd been re-listing since last September. It sold for the opening bid price of $240 in the early hours of this morning.

He did his usual trick of ending the listing early, 5 minutes after the bid was placed. That one took him 1 year and 2 months to sell - and at least sixty 7-day re-listings !

Flobaca's most recent well-worn 7A38-702H, fitted with a non-original gold-tone bracelet sold rather more quickly than his gold-tone 7A38-7000, taking by comparison, only three 7-day re-listings. It sold a couple of days ago for the opening bid price of $240 (or possibly a best offer). All I can say is some folks must be desperate.

I think I can safely make another prediction of flobaca's next 7A38-7069. There were five of them listed on eBay during the month of November. This was the last - a 7-day auction which ended on 4th December, selling for $77.51.

Just as I predicted in my previous post, profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca listed that same 7A38-7069 yesterday evening as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of $325. He's pitched it higher than usual, but then this one's in much nicer condition than some of his previous examples. Whether he'll get away with it remains to be seen, but he's assured of making an easy profit on his $77.51 outlay.

Yesterday evening profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca listed a two-tone 7A38-7020 as a 7-day auction, with a lower than usual opening bid price (by his standards) of $200. It's in generally poor condition: the bezel plating is well worn, the Tachymeter ring is cracked, the 1/10 second sub-dial is scabby and the 6 o'clock side of the bracelet is attached by a centre section from an adjustment link.

This is the same two-tone 7A38-7020 he bought from another US seller, for only $9.99 (according to eBay) on 24th October last year. See my post higher up this page. Needless to say, the case-back serial # 3N7557 matches.

Flobaca's scabby two-tone 7A38-7020 failed to attract any bids first time around, so he just re-listed it as another 7-day auction. It sold in the early hours of this morning for $202.50 after two bids.

I'm not quite sure what's become of that half-decent 7A38-7069 that profiteering US eBay re-seller flobaca listed in December last year. He'd re-listed it at least half a dozen times and dropped the opening bid price from $325 to $300. Then on Tuesday morning, he ended the latest 7-day re-listing, after just 36 hours, as item no longer available.

On Tuesday evening, he replaced it with another 7-day listing for a 7A38-7069, which he's also asking cheekily $300 for ! This one's best politely described as being in well worn condition. The bezel looks like it's been polished to remove the last remaining traces of gold plating and it's been fitted with a non-original generic replacement bracelet.

In that last photo, it looks like it may have benefited from a new crown. I haven't managed to find where he bought this one, either as a head only or fitted with this bracelet, but I'd hazard that it probably cost him less than $50 bucks.

Checking my eBay watching page, I see that flobaca ended his latest 7-day re-listing for that well-worn 7A38-7069, fitted with a non-original replacement bracelet, late last night, because the item was no longer available. If he did manage to sell it off eBay, I can't believe he'd have got anything like $300 for it.

I'm fairly confident in my prediction of what will very likely be flobaca's next 7A38 offering - yet another 7A38-7069. The 7-day US eBay auction for a typically worn example, with dubious sounding minor faults, ended yesterday evening, selling for a mere $68 after 19 bids.

As I'd predicted, profiteering US eBay seller flobaca listed that 7A38-7069 late last night as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of $250. Doesn't look as if he's done anything to it (other than re-setting the chronograph hands).
