While I was watching him list more stuff yesterday evening, as I refreshed the screen, these three random Seiko quartz watches appeared:
My continued monitoring of MM's re-selling activities may have temporarily deterred him from listing any more 7Axx's, but it appears he is still buying up junk job lots of other Seikos. Here's another job lot of 10 'untested' quartz watches he bought yesterday, winning a US eBay auction for $79.

No doubt, like the previous job lot of 4, three of which incidentally remain unsold, they'll reappear listed separately in due course, having had absolutely nothing done to them, but with their prices likely marked-up by a factor of x10.

His current tally of unsold Seikos is 83. Among his recent purchases, he's also been buying a few more Seiko Kinetics. Needless to say, some of them require replacement capacitors, something he'd be completely incapable of fitting !

Apologies for the double quote carried forward from page 2 of this thread - it's intended to provide some background.

Yesterday, I went through the thread, checking whether all the links I'd embedded still worked. Most still do, but not all of them return quite the same results as they did previously, for example the link to his Etsy page, that I'd included in my 'name and shame' exposé at the top of this page:

He's since redacted it, expurgating just about everything but his (user) name.

His profile photo is gone. Fortunately, I'd had the foresight to interrogate the HTML, right-click and save it already. I just hadn't bothered to post it. ;) He's replaced it with this small grainy image of what appears to be a Swiss chateau.
It appears MM hadn't quite finished attempting to cover his tracks. He's since revised his Etsy profile again, changing the user ID to Mill Auction House. Some details are still currently private, but the fact that it now mirrors his eBay profile is a possible indication that he may plan to resurrect it at some point.

Note my last sentence:
but the fact that it now mirrors his eBay profile is a possible indication that he may plan to resurrect it at some point.

This morning I received an obvious clue that he most certainly had already done so. This mobile phone screenshot from Etsy is the primary image in US eBay listing # 325022768779 ( by another seller) for a different two-tone 7A38-7289:

It didn't take me more than a glance to instantly recognise it as the well-worn two-tone 7A38-7289, with a short bracelet, that MM had been listing (and re-listing) since 5th November last year, which naturally remains unsold.

Although there are possibly bargains to be found, I must admit that I rarely look at Etsy. However, it seems that MM has been extremely busy while I hadn't been paying attention. He's re-vamped his profile and so far listed, in parallel some 2670 of the 4460 items he currently has listed on eBay ! :o Needless to say that includes the majority of his ludicrously over-priced Seikos (in general) and 7Axx's.

It appears from his feedback that MM last used his Etsy account in July 2020. Since then, he's only received one review (in the last couple of days). The last sentence reads like very sound advice.

More or less as I'd predicted (apart from the current mark-up factor), deluded would-be profiteering US eBay re-seller millauctionhouse listed those 10 random untested Seiko Quartz watches yesterday, with individual prices ranging from 'only' $20 (for a non-runner, with no crystal and bent hand) to $60 each, making a total of $440, versus his cost of $79. Needless to say, he's done absolutely nothing with them, as usual.

Time for a quick re-cap / update on MM's current stats, methinks. His current total of all items listed on eBay is 4470.

That now includes a total of 98 for all Seiko watches (and accessories), comprising:
7 x 7A28's; 8 x 7A38's; 20 x 7A48's (of which 16 are his favourite 7A48-7000 / -7009). So basically no change there.
His predominantly gold-tone 7T34 Flightmasters number 7. He has half a dozen other 7Txx's listed besides, including: 7T32's, 7T36, 7T42's, 7T52, etc. All variants of Seiko Kinetic total 10 at present (with at least one other incoming due). The other 40% of his Seiko inventory is made up of mostly cheap quartz watches, some needing battery replacement !

I've had other distractions to deal with over the last week or so, hence the reason I haven't kept as close a watching eye on MM's activities as I might have otherwise have done. He's been busy listing more cheap junk Seiko watches, including that tired bejewelled 7431-5300 beater that I'd mentioned above, initially asking $180, 10 times what he paid for it ! :o He subsequently doubled its price to an incredibly stupid $360 and then applied his contrived 50% 'sale' discount.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1980s-Vintag ... 5279982840

Seiko-Quartz-7431-5300-Diamonds-eBay-Feb2022-millauctionhouse-Listing.jpg (218.37 KiB) Viewed 12797 times

That was a week ago; incidentally that 7431-5300 was the last item he listed late in the evening of February 2nd, which then took his current total number of all items listed to just over 4500. A week later it's now rapidly headed for 4600 !!

His current total number of all Seiko watches listed has increased from just shy of 100 to slightly over 130 and continues to grow. Not surprisingly, there hasn't been much movement in his ludicrously over-priced 7Axx inventory and generally the numbers I posted at the end of January still hold good:
Seiko7A38 wrote: Mon Jan 31, 2022 12:51 pm7 x 7A28's; 8 x 7A38's; 20 x 7A48's (of which 16 are his favourite 7A48-7000 / -7009). So basically no change there.
It appears he may have sold his most recently acquired non-working 7A28-7049 (the listing shows 'item out of stock'), presumably for a best offer accepted, although the transaction hasn't yet been completed properly. He's since listed another common-or-garden gold-tone 7A28-7029 to replenish his 7A28 inventory. It's 'Rare' according to his title.

Unlike some of the other recent NOS Seiko 7Axx 'Full Sets', offered by other devious greedy eBay sellers, particularly our Italian 'friend', Giuseppe, the accessories included with this watch appear to all be present and correct and original. 👍

That said, not only isn't this a desirable 7A28 or 7A38 variant, but one of the least popular 7A48 models - an unusually fugly design that Seiko 'blinged up' specifically for the US market. 👎 Compare this tarted-up bauble with the rather more subtle white dialed 7A48-701A SPV002J variant and you'll see what I'm getting at. ;)

The upshot is that MM now holds the distinction of listing the most expensive Seiko 7Axx anywhere on eBay worldwide ! I haven't yet managed to find where he bought it (in eBay History). It may be that he's owned it for some time. Looking at another watch he's just listed (a used H557-5179 with box and papers), that includes a receipt from a (now closed) jewellers, Jack Kellmer Co. in Cherry Hill, NJ, where he previously lived before moving to Phoenix (see top of page 2).

MM has since frigged around with the pricing on that NOS 7A48-7010 (and a good many other of his pseudo-discounted 'sale' items), cutting the percentage from 60% to 50% and hence the Buy-it-Now price is back up to $2500 again.

I must admit that I was mildly annoyed with myself for not being able to find where he'd purchased it and more to the point how much he'd actually paid for it. The reason I couldn't find it before is that the original eBay seller's listing title wasn't specific. He'd included both '7A48' and the sales code 'SPVOO4J' in the description, but of course you can't search on 'included in description' on eBay history. The seller subsequently left MM a positive feedback which made finding it a little easier. It was a 7-day US eBay auction which ended on 1st February. MM won it for the opening bid price of $525.

It's not as if more examples were really needed, but just to show what a complete and utter chancer Marc Meltzer is ....

Yesterday, he once again spent some time frigging around with the prices of his various Seiko watches, including making a number of revisions to that listing for the NOS 7A48-7010. The (undiscounted) Buy-it-Now price is now down to $1500 - compared to the outrageous $5000 he initially listed it for, just over three weeks ago.

Checking my eBay watching page, I see that NOS 7A48-7010 is currently on 'special offer' (for a limited time only). The 25% 'sale' discount reduces the Buy-it-Now price to $1125 - still more than double what MM paid for it 5 weeks ago.

MM must be getting desperate to shift some of his Seiko watch inventory. He's recently done a few 'hatchet jobs' on the pricing of some of them, prior to applying this latest 25% discount. Remember that worn-out two-tone 7A38-7020, which I started this thread with, that he originally listed with an absolutely ridiculous Buy-it-Now price of $1200 ?

Recently the price has varied between $800 - $400. Earlier this month he revised the latest re-listing for the nth time, reducing the Buy-it-Now price to $299.99. With the 25% discount applied, brings it down to $224.99, which is actually less than the £198 he was stupid enough to pay for this tired piece of junk in November last year.

I hadn't added any updates updates to this thread for a couple of weeks, because frankly not much has happened in my absence. I believe MM may have purchased a couple more 7Axx's in the interim, but if it was him (I couldn't confirm the encrypted buyer ID's conclusively), he still hasn't listed them on eBay. The only bit of excitement (if you can call it that) was when he registered on the forum earlier this week. His membership was terminated once I'd figured out it was him.

Other than that brief incursion, there's not much to report. It's business as usual for MM. He continues to turn over large volumes of cheap tat costume jewellery, but his watches, particularly the Seiko 7Axx's aren't selling, simply due to their ridiculously marked-up prices (even when 'discounted') and mostly rather poor condition.

A fortnight ago, on the evening of 18th March, MM appears to have deliberately selectively ended all his 160-odd listings for Seiko watches and parts, in the usual manner, as allegedly no longer available and re-listed them once again.

Speaking of busy fools, yesterday, April 1st, MM randomly ended as allegedly no longer available and summarily almost immediately re-listed nearly 800 of his current 4800 items. These happened to include 8 of his 16 7A48-7000/-7009's (of more anon) which he'd previously only re-listed a fortnight ago on 18th March. Needless to say the Buy-it-Now prices have been screwed around with and pseudo-discounts applied once more.

Given his proclivity for constantly screwing around with his listings (ridiculously marked-up asking prices aside), it's not exactly surprising that MM has met with very little success, as far as watches go. Because of his underhanded tactics, it's sometimes difficult to determine whether he has actually sold one. Here's a couple of examples:
Seiko7A38 wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:52 amThe second, a well-worn and non-functional two-tone 7A38-7190, fitted with a generic replacement two-tone Speidel Fix-o-Flex expanding bracelet, is best described as a complete and utter joke ! They're asking an absolutely ludicrous $450, which is supposedly discounted by 25% from their original marked-up Buy-it-Now price of $600 !!

That well-worn non-working two-tone 7A38-7190, fitted with a non-original Speidel Fix-o-Flex replacement bracelet (which incidentally MM foolishly paid $84 for), was last re-listed along with all his other Seiko 7Axx's on 18th March, with a 'reduced' Buy-it-Now price of $200. He ended that re-listing on 29th March, in the usual manner as allegedly no longer available, but hasn't re-listed it since. So does that suggest he's sold it by the 'back door' ?

At first glance, this listing, which coincidentally was ended on the evening of March 18th, at the same time as all his other 7Axx listings, might give a false impression that MM had finally managed to sell one of his 16 7A48-7000 / -7009's for an undisclosed best offer. But had he ? :?

If you check the photos in the ended listing, you'll see that its case-back s/n is 6O3788, which is one he'd first listed in December (as his item #50). Perhaps someone can explain why he re-listed the same watch, serial # 6O3788, using the same photos, a little over 15 minutes later @ 20:27:30 ? Another sale that fell through ? :|

At the risk of repeating myself, yesterday 17th April, which was Easter Sunday, MM repeated this pointless exercise once again. This time he only managed 770 or so of his current 4500+ items, but somehow included 3 of the 8 7A48's which he'd previously re-listed on 1st April. What a complete and utter waste of time.

After numerous re-listings and umpteen price changes, with or without 'sales discounts', that well-worn 7A38-7080 fitted with a short non-original Speidel replacement bracelet, first listed by meltzertrading in the first week of November last year, may finally have sold. Checking my eBay watching page, MM (as millauctionhouse) ended the latest re-listing in the early hours of this morning, as allegedly no longer available. He hasn't re-listed it this time.

WatchCount.com's look-up tool shows it has been sold:

Ending the listing in this devious manner is most likely another flagrant example of eBay fee avoidance on his part.

Looks like MM has finally struck lucky and found another mug punter. I hadn't previously bothered posting an update, (or taking a screen print), but on the evening of 18th March, he'd re-listed his NOS 7A48-7010 at the same time as all his other Seiko watches. The Buy-it-Now price was initially $1500, but as usual, he constantly frigged around with it. If you want a good laugh, check out the item revision history. I make that no less than 34 changes to the Buy-it-Now price !!! Yesterday evening he changed it (from whatever it was previously) to $1200 and that's what it appears to have sold for in the early hours of this morning. Friday 13th - Unlucky for somebody else. :(

Devious profiteering re-seller millauctionhouse had re-listed that dog of a two-tone 7A38-7020 on 18th March (at the same time as all his other 7Axx's). I can't remember what the latest initial Buy-it-Now price was, but if you check the item revision history, you'll see it was academic, because he changed it three dozen times over the last two months.

I'm not sure what could have possessed the buyer (other than being blind or drunk), but it appears to have sold (again) yesterday evening for a best offer accepted.

Why anybody would want to pay that kind of money for such a tired piece of junk, when much better examples regularly crop up on eBay Germany, is completely beyond me. Here's one that sold just a couple of hours later:

Seiko7A38 wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 9:52 amOne can only assume they are attempting to corner the market by establishing a monopoly on eBay, thereby driving up the prices for this relatively common 7A48 variant. They may need to buy a few more yet !!
That now makes a total of 15 7A48-7000's / -7009's that he's currently listing and best I can tell, unless I've missed any, he hasn't sold a single one to date. To coin the old adage: Speculate to accumulate or accumulate to speculate ? :?
He may have sold a couple of 7Axx's earlier this year, but (apart from the non-sale in March) MM still hasn't met with any success shifting his unsold hoard of sixteen 7A48-7000 / -7009's. I've been keeping tabs on his shenanigans and some of them have now been-re-listed at least half a dozen times since last December. One noticeable difference is that their current (50% discounted) prices now range from $250, for a non-running head only, to $500 for complete examples on the correct original Z1093C bracelet, compared to the absolutely ludicrous $400 to $1500 he was asking in January.

One might have thought he would have learned his lesson by now - that these watches are far too common to be able to create any kind of monopoly. I believe he's purchased at least 3 more 7A48-7000/9 this year: one in February and two in April (all as best offer accepted), although if my assumptions are correct, he still hasn't listed any of them on eBay yet. Indeed, I thought he might have finally given up, but his evident obsession with this 7A48 continues. He bought another cheap 7A48-700X with issues, winning a US eBay auction in the early hours of this morning.

The eBay Bidding History shows a winning bidder with a feedback of 12175 - it couldn't be anybody else, but him.

It remains to be seen what he plans to do with it. The real 'gotcher' with this example is that it's missing its case-back (the US eBay seller had used the 7A48-7010 dial part number in his listing title, which is common to both the normal worldwide export 7A48-7000 and US market 7A48-7009). Here's his description:
GOOD DAY FOLKS, UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1980's SEIKO CHRONOGRAPH MOONPHASE WRIST WATCH. IT'S A 7A48-7010T SPORTS 100 MODEL. I INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY AND THE WATCH RUNS AND IS KEEPING TIME ACCURATELY BUT I CAN'T GET ANY OF THE OTHER BUTTONS TO WORK. THE SECONDS HAND MOVES AROUND AS DOES THE HOUR AND MINUTES HANDS BUT I CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE CHRONOGRAPH FUNCTIONS TO WORK, IT WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED., THE ONE GLARING PROBLEM IS THE BACK COVER IS MISSING, YOU'LL HAVE TO ORDER ONE FROM SEIKO. THE MOVEMENT LOOKS OK, BUT IT HAS A COUPLE OF SPOTS OF TARNISH. YOU CAN SEE IT'S CONDITION BY MOVING YOUR MOUSE CURSOR OVER THE PICS. IF YOU COLLECT OR REPAIR OLD SEIKO WATCHES, THIS IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR RESTORATION.
Logically, MM could use it to improve or rectify one of his lesser condition non-working / head only examples. But as he appears to be totally incapable of the most basic tasks, including replacing batteries, I somehow doubt it.
