Re: Rookie of the Year award for Greed and Stupidity ....

Post by Seiko7A38 »

In starting a third page of this diatribe, criticizing the borderline fraudulent and utterly unethical activities of would-be profiteering US eBay seller millauctionhouse (previously meltzertrading), I found myself spoiled for choice of a quote to carry over. This one seemed highly appropriate - even without his scruffy looking 'Poshmark' mugshot.
Seiko7A38 wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 12:47 pmThe question anybody following this thread has to ask themselves, is would you buy any secondhand Seiko 7Axx from a decidedly shady looking character like this ? - let alone at his ludicrously marked-up psuedo-discounted asking prices.
Henceforth to be known as Marky-mark-up-malarky Marc - or MM for short. :P
Hopefully anyone with a modicum of common sense who's read and digested the previous two pages has already figured out the correct answer: Absolutely not - at any 'discounted' price.

Yesterday evening, MM crawled out from under the mountain of vintage Christmas cards he's been listing and re-listing recently and listed four more Seiko 7Axx's that he'd purchased in December. The prices shown on the screen prints I'm about to post were taken as the items were first listed (before being summarily frigged around with and 'discounted').

This, as you'll see is another extremely pertinent quote from the previous page:
Seiko7A38 wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 2:27 pmHaving retrospectively researched his buying activity, one thing quickly becomes abundantly clear. In his pathetic frantic efforts to 'corner the market', his rookie inexperience has resulted in some indiscriminate and questionable purchases.
Not in any particular order, but the first I'm going to cite (his most recently listed Seiko 7Axx) being a prime example.

I'm struggling to find words to describe this 7A28-703B. 'Basket Case' and 'Bottom of the 7Axx Barrel' spring to mind.

It doesn't need more than a cursory glance at his primary image to see the rust staining on the dial and corrosion on the hands, likely the result of a severe battery leak. The fact that the watch is still partially working is a testament to the durability of the Seiko 7Axx movement. Note that he falsely claims in his description 'Original bracelet', when it's clearly not one, but a much earlier non-original replacement Seiko bracelet off another model.

Here's where he bought it from a Cypriot eBay seller, winning their auction in early December for $128.50:

The next one (again not quite in the sequence they were listed) caught me slightly by surprise. MM has been regularly buying up 7A48-7000's and -7009's in his pathetic efforts to 'corner the market'. For a change he listed this 7A48-5000, with an absolutely ludicrous initial Buy-it-Now price of $2500.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEIKO-CHRONO ... 5250617722

Thing is, it's not even close to being a decent example and it's fitted with a cheap leather strap in place of the original Seiko p/n B1406C bracelet. To make matters worse, he bought it from an Indian back-street watch botcher in December, winning their auction and rather foolishly paying $300 for this tired example !

More of the same and the same old mistakes. This non-working 7A48-7000, fitted with non-original generic replacement bracelet, which he was initially asking $800 for, was one I'd predicted earlier (see quote below from the previous page):

I can't remember whether I'd previously predicted this 7A48-7009, but I'd already mentally book-marked it as another of his forthcoming ludicrously over-priced offerings. Yup - another one initially listed with a Buy-it-Now price of $2500 !

Re: Rookie of the Year award for Greed and Stupidity ....

Please excuse the next slightly off topic post (and the fact I couldn't be bothered to take screen shots of the individual listings), but it appears that MM doesn't restrict his greed and crass stupidity to just Seiko 7Axx's. While I was watching him list more stuff yesterday evening, as I refreshed the screen, these three random Seiko quartz watches appeared:

Seiko-Quartz-millauctionhouse-eBay-Jan2022-Listings-Summary-X3.png
Seiko-Quartz-millauctionhouse-eBay-Jan2022-Listings-Summary-X3.png (183.68 KiB) Viewed 11890 times

Note their typically ludicrous initial Buy-it-Now prices of $280, $250 and $300 (for cheap undesirable dress watches).

By amusing happenstance, I'd earlier chanced across where he'd bought them, in a job lot of four Seiko quartz watches, winning the US eBay seller's auction in the early hours of Christmas Day morning, for a mere $67 (less than £50 Quid):

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284575367503

Three of the four were already working and he appears to have done absolutely nothing with them, other than list them separately. I've already highlighted his sheer laziness and complete incompetence, when it comes to watches, but I find it incredible that he listed the 7N39-0A19 with the same sweat-stained leather strap, rotted to the point of breaking.

Seiko-7N39-0A19-millauctionhouse-eBay-Jan2022-5-Fingerprint.jpg
Seiko-7N39-0A19-millauctionhouse-eBay-Jan2022-5-Fingerprint.jpg (210.94 KiB) Viewed 11880 times

Note the familiar fingerprint creeping into the shot.

In case you were wondering what became of the fourth watch on the right of the job lot, that appeared slightly later.
It was specifically mentioned in the original seller's description:

MM listed the 8222-8029 about 45 minutes after the other three, but as a 'head only', having managed to remove the 'Native American' style bracelet, yet seemingly incapable of fitting a replacement battery. More like too darned lazy.

Indeed, just as I'd expected, overnight MM went on to screw around with the prices of all those items I've posted higher up this page (and probably loads more besides), reducing them and applying various contrived sale 'discounts', so by this morning, they looked like this (in summary format):

They may be cheaper (possibly temporarily), but all are still grossly unrealistically over-priced for their condition. :!:

FWIW, here's an updated link to the latest summary of all millauctionhouse Seiko eBay listings and specifically to his:
7A28's (currently 6), 7A38's (currently 8) and 7A48's (currently 16). I don't expect any are likely to sell any day soon.

My bad - although the last sentence of my previous post was intended as meaning the future tense. :P
I'd failed to spot that MM had actually managed to sell another of his over-priced 7Axx's earlier on Tuesday morning.

It was a non-working JDM 7A28-7040, fitted with a non-original bracelet and described in his typical lackadaisical lazy manner as: For repair. Not running. Don’t know what’s wrong with it I bought it this way. Top right pusher is stuck.
It sold, not for his 60% discounted 'sale' price (joke) of $320 but for an undisclosed, presumably much lower, best offer.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185237948927

No excuse for having missed it earlier, other than I don't bother adding many of his items to my eBay watching page. There's already enough over-priced crap on there. When I'd run searches on his Seiko 7A28 listings, it had registered there were a couple of JDM 'head only's amongst them, but I must have somehow overlooked this one.

This may be a bit of a long shot, but I have a sneaking suspicion that MM has already purchased another 7A28 'Diver' to replenish his slightly depleted inventory. This 7A28-7049 (with a 'D' typo in the listing title) sold in the early hours of Monday morning for an undisclosed best offer.

I can't be certain it was MM who bought it, because there's no feedback number shown in the eBay Purchase History, but the encrypted buyer's eBay ID of u***o, includes a couple of letters from millauctionhouse. Another coincidence is the seller's location of Scottsdale, which is another suburb of Phoenix, 20 miles from Glendale, where MM resides. Besides, the seller described it as: 'currently not functioning', so it should be right up MM's street !

Speaking as I was about MM's inventory ....
Seiko7A38 wrote: Mon Jan 10, 2022 9:18 am For the benefit of anyone else who might be following his antics (and wondering what the heck is going on), here's a quick (if slightly 'off topic') update on MM's latest shenanigans. Yesterday, he spent (more like wasted) about 10 hours ending (as allegedly no longer available) and re-listing over 1000 of his older unsold 4000 plus items. That's the sole reason why loads more of his eBay listings for cheap tat junk jewellery, vintage Christmas cards, bottle openers and various other ephemera are flagged as 'New' this morning. Best I can tell, he actually listed nothing new yesterday.
Although I've kept a fairly close watching eye on his antics, I haven't bothered counting the number of re-listings, but I'd estimate that MM has 'recycled' around another 1000 of his older unsold inventory items over the last couple of days. It got me thinking. How can someone manage to amass 4000 plus unsold items. :? We've already established that the bulk of it, probably around 2500 items, is basically cheap old tat (sorry 'vintage estate costume') jewellery, which is his primary stock in trade. Then, highest in value is his recent venture into watches: currently 70 plus Seikos and another 100 or more assorted watches, predominantly cheap quartz, half of which need replacement batteries. So what makes up the rest of his inventory ? I'd already mentioned the 760 vintage postcards he's listing on the previous page. The next largest quantity came to my notice, due to his recent re-listing antics. How about over 520 bottle and can openers ? :o Some 'vintage' and a few rusty !

MM's inventory of Seiko 7A28's may be gradually diminishing, one way or another, but his stock of 7A48's continues to grow exponentially. Late yesterday evening, he listed yet another 7A48-7009, initially with a typically ludicrously marked-up Buy-it-Now price of $2400, which he's since 'discounted' by 50% to $1200.

Nothing particularly remarkable about this one: it's fitted with the correct original bracelet and is working, but the 10 o'clock pusher looks like it's stuck in and the crystal is badly scratched - which of course he'll do nothing to remedy.

Even if MM wasn't totally incompetent (or too darned lazy), he'd barely have had time to do anything with it anyway. Here's where he bought it earlier this week, winning a 7-day US eBay auction for $299 (as the sole bidder):

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-SEIK ... 4771924989

But squinting hard, the case-back serial number 534634 matches the 7A48-7009 he's just listed:

Seems he's still not finished accumulating them either. There's already another 7A48-7000 in the pipeline. This one was first listed earlier this month as a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of $400, but there were no takers. The US eBay seller re-listed it as another 7-day auction with the opening bid reduced to $375, which evidently proved too much of a temptation for our budding compulsive 7A48 hoarder (and deluded would-be profiteering re-seller).

The eBay Purchase History user ID encryption seemed to be working better than usual on this occasion, by actually managing to introduce a random character, but the feedback number of 11130 clearly points to the winning bidder / buyer being millauctionhouse.

Time to dig a little deeper into MM's activities, methinks Image maybe by adding a little Mayhem into the mix. 8-)
Mayhem Solutions Group is an international Investigation Agency and Private Security Company, based in Chandler, AZ., not a million miles* from Glendale, offering a range of discreet professional services, including surveillance. Image
Saw this on their Facebook page / photos and they're absolutely right; I've probably exhausted Google search results.

I must have got MM rattled. Last night he failed to win a US eBay auction for yet another knackered 7A48-7000, that he might otherwise have added to his stash. It sold for $122.50. It was fitted with a non-original replacement bracelet and a non-runner to boot, so would have been right up his street.

I had another hearty chuckle to myself at MM's expense this morning. I see that overnight he's listed a couple of 7A48 bracelet adjustment links, with a pre-discounted Buy-it-Now price of $40:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Sing ... 5118968792

Whether that's $40 for the two links (as shown in his photos) or a Single Link (per the listing title) is anybody's guess. :?
If the latter, then he probably also deserves a mention in this thread as well. He doesn't state which 7A48 model they're suitable for (other than a spots 100), but of course they're from a p/n Z1093C bracelet used on the 7A48-7000 / -7009, of which he currently has 15 listed for sale at various ludicrous asking prices, ranging from $400 to $1500.

As to where they came from, I strongly suspect that like his 7A48 instruction manual, they came supplied loose with one of the watches he's purchased. I'm not about to trawl through the old listings to find which. Reason I say that, is simply because as he's evidently incapable of replacing a battery, it's unlikely he could adjust a bracelet size either. If he has removed them from one of the watches he has listed for sale, that's typically unethical, but it mightn't seem wrong to MM. After all he only has a weedy 6½" wrist.

I've known for some time that MM has been closely following this thread, by some of his knee-jerk reactions to my posts.
So you can imagine my amusement to see that he'd revised that listing overnight, editing the title, not once but twice. He's also applied the usual almost obligatory contrived 50% 'sale' discount, which still hardly makes them a 'bargain'. However, incredibly he failed to spot and rectify his earlier unforced error. Sloppy, Marc.

Meanwhile as far as watches (and particularly Seiko 7Axx's) go, MM seems to be keeping his head down. For the time being, he's reverted to the safety of his regular stock in trade, i.e. cheap tat junk jewellery (not all 'vintage costume' either). He seems fairly indiscriminate. Over the last few days he's listed dozens of tasteless brass and silver rings with pre-discounted prices ranging from $60 - $120 apiece. Here's where he bought the majority of them, in a bulk job lot of 100 a couple of weeks ago, for $307. Entrepreneurship or little better than scrap metal dealing ?

My previous jibe was deliberately intended to provoke a reaction from MM and predictably he responded by listing a few more Seikos overnight, which now brings his current unsold tally to 80. Amongst them was this 7A38-7000 in no better than average worn condition, which I'd already forecasted last weekend (see partial quote below). He initially listed it with a typical ludicrously marked-up Buy-it-Now price of $2000, then applied his usual contrived 50% sale discount.

That brings his current tally of listings for 7A48-7000 / -7009's to 16, with potentially another 1 or 2 still in the pipeline.

MM also obliged by confirming another of my earlier predictions (see partial quote below), by listing this non-working 7A28-7049. In his usual lazy manner, he's done absolutely nothing with it, not even making any attempt to clean the previous owner's accumulated DNA off the watch case. Yours, if you're stupid enough, for the current knock-down 50% pseudo-discounted sale price of 'only' $500.

That last sentence of my prediction was an absolute classic, even if I say so myself. 8-)
You'll need to zoom in on the original seller's case-back photo, but needless to say, the serial number 430511 matches:

Interestingly, in the description he's included 'Item 104'. The previous 7A48-7000 that he listed last night was 'Item#103'. Presumably this is his own inventory reference. Whether they indicates these are the 103rd and 104th Seikos he's listed is anybody's guess. :? Incidentally, last night he also listed a gold-tone 7T32-6B50 (which allegedly works 'great') asking a ludicrous $500 and a gold-tone 5M62-0C88 Kinetic (correctly a -0C40) asking $150 that incidentally he paid $12.60 for, his description of which beggars belief and aptly illustrates his complete ignorance, laziness and incompetence.

Speaking of MM's other random (non-7Axx) offerings, he has literally dozens of other (s)crap non-working Seiko watches listed among his current total of 80. This sentence from yesterday's post, WRT scrap metal is appropriate in a few cases.
Seiko7A38 wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 2:27 pmEntrepreneurship or little better than scrap metal dealing ?
I thought about mentioning this one earlier. Slightly off topic I concede, but it would be remiss of me not to do so. :P MM first listed this knackered A914-5010 LCD on 14th January with a typically ludicrous Buy-it-Now price of $200. He's since screwed around with the price three times already (see screen print of the revision history below), but with the application of his latest contrived 50% sale discount, it's currently down to $100.

The current average worldwide scrap value of 316L stainless steel is approx £1.50 / €1.60 / $2.00 US per kilogram. Assuming the watch weighs approx. 100g, less glass and movement, perhaps a more realistic value would be $10 !!
