I'd already spotted them (from my eBay watching page), but not bothered to mention before.

Presumably these will also reappear on eBay UK in due course, with extortionately marked-up Buy-it-Now prices.
So far, greedy would-be profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007 hasn't listed any more of the 7A38's he'd purchased from German eBay seller henzz1337, but late last night, he listed that 7A48-6000, with an extortionately marked-up Buy-it-Now price of £650 ! Note that he's also describing it as 'NOS', which isn't strictly true. Check out the bracelet's distorted first joining link on the 12 o'clock side; an indication it's actually been worn a fair bit (or clumsily handled).

Although the case-back serial number 7D2977 wasn't particularly legible in the original German seller's photo, it's fairly obviously the same watch (as confirmed by the feedback).

Re: Yet another profiteering (UK) eBay seller to avoid !!

Allow me to make another prediction, that's very likely to become yet another extortionately marked-up forthcoming offering from greedy would-be profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007, possibly after he's got round to listing the remaining 7A38's he purchased from German eBay seller henzz1337 in January (see previous page).

I've never been averse to 'tasteful' bling and have always had a bit of a soft spot for the gold-tone 7A38-7260 SAA100J. Indeed, if you've read the above linked 7A38-xxxx model specific thread on the old forum, you'll already know that my collection included half a dozen, in varying condition of which these three examples, fitted with the original Seiko p/n BRJ37G leather strap are the best.

They're not rare, not by any stretch of the imagination and turn up on eBay, mostly in Italy, but also UK fairly regularly. The knack is in finding examples with minimal wear to the gold plating on the rim of the bezel and tops of the lugs - and if you're fussy (and fortunate) on the original Seiko strap. Now I most certainly don't need another one, but when decent examples come up on eBay, they still somehow manage to perk my interest.

One such example came up on eBay UK earlier this month, listed as a 10-day auction, with an opening bid price of £155. I didn't bother taking a screen print of the listing; just right-clicked and saved the superb photos* and added it to my eBay watching page. It was being sold by the original owner who had fitted a good quality Hirsch replacement strap.

*I hadn't realized before, but the seller had revised the listing a number of times, subsequently replacing a few of his photos. I've uploaded less than half, both from the original set and later additions. He'd also revised the description slightly since I first read it (removing an erroneous sentence about an 'original' Seiko buckle, that wasn't, which he'd mistakenly included):

The auction ended yesterday evening, with the 7A38-7260 selling for a higher than average £205 after 4 bids.

Checking the eBay Bidding History, shows that up until 15 minutes before the auction was scheduled to end, no bids had been placed, then someone placed one for the opening price of £155. Three snipe bids came in the final 10 seconds, two from the winning bidder, with a feedback of 1954, which coincidentally happens to be the same as hollizaak007.

So now it's just a matter of waiting, to see how much over his 'minimum standard' extortionately marked-up Buy-it-Now price of £365 he tries to flog this one for.

Well there's a turn-up for the books !! At lunchtime today, more or less as predicted, profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007 listed that gold-tone 7A38-7260. But in an uncharacteristic move, he's set the Buy-it-Now price @ £255, only £50 more than he paid for it a week ago, instead of his usual level of mark-up (in hundreds). :|

It's obviously the same watch. The case-back serial number which the previous (redacted) owner had partially obscured is 780199. Hoverever, it's not quite the 'full set' that it was previously. Both the 7A38 user instruction manual and Seiko presentation box are no longer included in the sale. Typical dirty dealer move.

At the beginning of this week, would-be profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007 listed a couple more of the 7A38's that he'd recently purchased from German eBay seller henzz1337, with typical greedily marked-up Buy-it-Now prices.

That was followed 10 minutes later by this 7A38-728A SAA128J German market variant, without the gold sub-dial rings. He's asking a typical greedily marked-up Buy-it-Now price of £350.

He made the German eBay seller henzz1337 a best offer (presumably one less than 200 Euros) for it in early January.

Last weekend (26th / 27th February) he'd also pulled his regular stunt of ending his existing listings (on this particular occasion because of alleged errors) and immediately re-listing them. He did actually deign to reduce a couple of his previous ludicrous Buy-it-Now asking prices by a fiver or a tenner. This appears to have had the desired effect, in attracting fresh attention, because the re-listed two-tone 7A38-6080 since sold for an undisclosed best offer.

By dint of his greedily marked-up asking prices, this still currently leaves him with seven 7A38's and two 7A48's unsold. With his propensity for ending and re-listing, there's not a lot of point in my posting individual eBay item links, but the oldest is that 'stunning' two-tone 7A38-7190, fitted with a non-original replacement bracelet, that he first listed in July last year. Not forgetting, he's still yet to list two more 7A38's which he also purchased from German eBay seller henzz1337 in early January: a two-tone 7A38-7060 and two-tone 7A38-7280.

He rectified the first of those two earlier omissions yesterday afternoon, listing the two-tone 7A38-7060 with a typically greedy and ludicrously marked-up Buy-it-Now price of £500.

I've no idea what he may have paid for it, other than his best offer was accepted, so presumably less than 225 Euros. Thing is the two-tone 7A38-7060 SAA016J is one of, if not the most commonly seen 7A38 on eBay Germany and decent examples can easily be picked up for around 150 Euros.

Whereas this may admittedly be a decent well-cared for example, it's certainly not 'New without tags' or 'NOS condition' as he's touting it. You only need look at the discoloured (sweat stained) JWC II inspection sticker on the case-back to figure out it's been worn quite a bit. Presumably in an effort to complete the illusion, taking a leaf out of Giuseppe's book, he's added a blue Seiko presentation box and a 7A38 user instruction manual - but the wrong version; it's the 'Sports 100' edition. At first glance I thought it might have been the manual belonging to the gold-tone 7A38-7260, but seems he bought this deliberately for this purpose. Oops.

Over the last few days, would-be profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007 again pulled his regular stunt of ending a number of his listings, because of supposed errors and immediately re-listing them. Often he's not actually made any significant change, simply using it as a ruse to bump them. Last Sunday, he did the same to his ridiculously over-priced listing for the gold-tone 7A38-7060, which first appeared in mid-January. Not the first time either. On the previous occasion, he reduced the Buy-it-Now price from £700 to £695.
Seiko7A38 wrote: Mon Jan 17, 2022 9:28 amIt didn't click straight away, but that encrypted eBay ID i***a is none other than profiteering UK re-seller hollizaak007. So far, he hasn't left positive feedback against all SIX 7A38's he's purchased from German eBay seller henzz1337. He'd also purchased this NOS condition gold-tone 7A38-7060 from him a few days later, again for an undisclosed best offer:

He had actually made another change to the re-listing, which I didn't spot immediately. As I hinted in my previous post he appears to be drawing inspiration from devious Italian eBay seller Giuseppe (oysterdelarge727), particularly with regard to presentation - using the same 'recycled' packaging in subsequent listings. This latest re-listing appears to have mysteriously gained a Seiko presentation box, in two new photos, one of which he's made the primary image.

It's just an illusion of course, designed to deceive - clearly the same blue Seiko presentation box that he's offering with the used two-tone 7A38-7060 that he listed last weekend. Per his description:
Please see photos carefully as these form part of the description and is sold as seen. A great watch in NOS condition. Box not included for storage only.
Presumably he means 'for display purposes only'.

This thread wasn't particularly intended to concentrate solely on the re-selling activities of just hollizaak007, although lately he's by far and away the greediest culprit. Indeed I've included at least one other profiteering UK eBay re-seller on the first page of this thread. Funnily enough, only a week ago, another relative newcomer, beautique_timepieces got a mention in another thread. Rather than continue that thread, I'm going to merge their activities into this one ....
Seiko7A38 wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:26 pmI don't think I've mentioned them in this forum section before, but one of the less conspicuous (by their level of activity) would-be profiteering UK eBay re-sellers on the periphery of my radar is beautique_timepieces. Unlike most other re-sellers, they tend to purchase their stock in trade at UK online auctions, often through the-saleroom.com, rather than eBay like so many others. They're also quite active on Instagram, which is evidently their preferred selling platform.
.... because they now share common ground with hollizaak007.

At the weekend, they listed this average condition stainless 7A38-6080 on eBay, with a Buy-it-Now price of £279.99.

It's also listed in parallel on Etsy, with the same set of eight photos and a slightly higher Buy-it-Now price of £299.99:

Naturally they've given it the obligatory plug on Instagram (without stating either of those two prices):

In case you might be wondering what they share in common with hollizaak007, the answer on this occasion is their source - German eBay seller henzz1337, whom just a week earlier, had listed this same stainless 7A38-6080 with a rather more realistic Buy-it-Now price of 195 Euros

No great surprise, as it appears to be his favoured modus operandi, profiteering UK re-seller beautique_timepieces ended his eBay listing for that stainless 7A38-6080 very early this morning as allegedly no longer available.

I know for a fact that beautique_timepieces has been reading my posts in this thread, because he started following me on Instagram, specifically so he could block me. Very childish Karl. I also have it on very good authority that in future he plans to obscure the case-back serial numbers on watches he lists for sale. Presumably hoping that will prevent me from tracking and conclusively proving his re-selling activities. Remember I wrote earlier in another thread:
Seiko7A38 wrote: Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:26 pmI don't think I've mentioned them in this forum section before, but one of the less conspicuous (by their level of activity) would-be profiteering UK eBay re-sellers on the periphery of my radar is beautique_timepieces. Unlike most other re-sellers, they tend to purchase their stock in trade at UK online auctions, often through the-saleroom.com ....
Guess what's coming up for sale later today on the-saleroom.com ?

One extremely grubby 7A38-706A (serial number 441819). Bidding is currently @ £100 (+ 24.95% commission / VAT etc.). How can I be so certain he'll go for it ? Well apart from past history, Spicers Auctioneers just happens to be located in Goole, East Yorkshire - his home town. ;)

That 7A38-7190, fitted with a non-original replacement bracelet (that he paid the Italian eBay seller less than 180 Euros for) was one of the first batch of three 7A38's listed by profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007, last July. The other two had sold fairly quickly. I've lost count of the number of times he's ended and re-listed this one, during which he'd reduced the Buy-it-Now price from £355 to £335. Checking my eBay watching page, it appears to have sold yesterday lunchtime. The eBay Purchase History points to it having sold for a best offer, rather than the full Buy-it-Now price.

Yesterday evening, profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007 listed two more two-tone 7A38's with typically greedily marked-up Buy-it-Now prices. Both come supplied with rather secondhand looking Seiko presentation boxes. Unless I've failed to spot any over the last 4 months, I believe this are the last two of a large number of 7A's he's purchased from German eBay seller henzz1337 during that period, though not in the order he acquired them.

Indeed, the 7A38-7280 which he's asking a risible £385 for is one of the first batch of three 7A38-728x's he purchased at the beginning of January, which for reasons best known to himself, he has held back until now.

I've only bothered uploading 3 of his rather lacklustre photos. The last shows the damage to the presentation box. He seems to have gone out of his way to obscure the case-back serial number. No matter, because even though the previous German seller's listing has long since dropped off eBay history, I'd already saved his set of 8 photos (it's s/n 822352) ....

Best I can tell, he's sold approximately a dozen so far and yesterday evening he listed 9 assorted 7A48's. You'd have had to be on the ball to spot a few of the 7A38's, because some sold very quickly, soon after they were listed, the majority as best offer accepted (against relatively low Buy-it-Now prices), like these 3, which sold within a matter of seconds of each other:

The other one, a two-tone 7A38-727A, for which he's asking a typically greedy marked-up Buy-it-now price of £400, is a more recent acquisition from the same source: German eBay seller henzz1337.

Since I took my screen print, he's revised the listing, shuffling the order of his photos, making another of the head-on views the primary image. Once again, there's no clear shot of the case-back; in the one above the serial number is conveniently obscured by the bracelet. No matter; I'd 'bookmarked' it in anticipation. It's serial number 7N8874. ;)

Often he's not actually made any significant change, simply using it as a ruse to bump them. Last Sunday, he did the same to his ridiculously over-priced listing for the gold-tone 7A38-7060, which first appeared in mid-January. Not the first time either. Although I've concentrated on flagging his nefarious 7A38 activities, profiteering eBay re-seller hollizaak007 deals in many other Seiko watches besides, including 7A28's and 7A48's. In fact anything he thinks he can make a profit on, with minimal effort. Currently his most expensive item is a 'Stunning' 7A28-703B which he listed yesterday evening, with a typical greedily marked-up Buy-it-Now price of £850. Despite that, it's already attracting a fair bit of attention.

Whereas the watch is undeniably in good well-cared-for condition and probably as close to a 'full set' as you're likely to find, it's certainly not 'New with tags' as he's categorized it. The clasp and bracelet show signs of wear, viz. both scuffing and the odd slightly distorted link. Here's where he bought it from a somewhat gullible UK eBay seller only 4 days ago.

It's worth taking a closer look at the previous seller's photos, which show evidence (particularly the accumulation of dirt under the clasp) that it had actually been worn a fair bit, before it was cleaned up:

Needless to say, the case-back serial number 380496 matches.

The eBay Purchase History shows the previous seller originally listed it last Friday as a 10-day auction with, given the condition, a possibly slightly over-optimistic opening bid price of £500. There was also the option to make an offer.

It's clear that the gullible seller didn't realize the watch's true value* and was bamboozled into selling it too cheaply. How low did hollizaak007 stoop to maximize his potential profit ? As revealed by the feedback he left him. £300 ! :x

Earlier this week, greedy profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007 had made a number of minor revisions to his listing. They included changing the condition 'New with tags' to 'Used' and adding this to the end of his description:
PS Sensible offers I'm not interested in £750. Cocky little b*st*ard. :x

Given the considerable interest, I'm not exactly surprised to see it sold yesterday morning, netting him a quick profit of £500 Quid for doing nothing more than cleaning it and taking some photos.

Oops.
Greedy profiteering UK eBay re-seller hollizaak007 managed to find a mug punter buyer for that two-tone 7A38-7060 yesterday afternoon. It sold for an undisclosed best offer. One can only hope it was nothing like his £500 asking price.

Re: Yet another profiteering (UK) eBay seller to avoid !!

Surprisingly, given his proclivity for regularly ending and re-listing his over-priced offerings, that two-tone 7A38-7060 was the original listing dating from 12th March. This morning, he ended all (8) listings for his remaining unsold 7A38's (and 7A48), once again because of supposed errors in the listings. So far, he's only re-listed the gold-tone 7A38-7260, but I'm sure the others will be back soon.

Edit: By 10:00, they were all back on eBay, re-listed. Most of their prices had been increased between £5 and £25.
