Another greedy profiteering US eBay re-seller to avoid !!

PS - Incidentally, rtm127 now has three 7A38-6030's listed on eBay - all ex-Yahoo Japan and all greedily over-priced.

At the risk of repeating myself ....
In the early hours of this morning, greedy profiteering US eBay re-seller Ryan Marucheau, a.k.a. Watch and Jewelry Exchange listed another well-worn JDM 7A38-6030, to join the other 2 unsold examples which he already has listed (one was re-listed) on eBay since January 2025. He's asking $770 for this one - the price pitched in between the other two.

Although Ryan has given up obscuring case-back serial numbers - this one is clearly visible as 493225, I must admit, this one had me scratching my head, albeit briefly. I used my Buyee ending soon email notifications to find it. It was first listed on Yahoo Japan in June last year, with an unrealistic asking price of ¥50,000 Yen.

There were no takers. It was re-listed at the end of October with a somewhat reduced opening bid price of ¥29,999.

It sold for that opening bid price of ¥29,999 Yen, equivalent to approx. $195.45 at the prevailing exchange rate.
Needless to say, the badly scratched case-back serial number 493225 matches.

Around the same time, he also listed another Cartier Ferrari Formula Cal. 531 which he'd sourced from Yahoo Japan auctions. This one's a stainless and gold two-tone with a red dial (model F.610.48.01), for which he's asking a typically greedy thousand dollars. But, in reality, it's not the best of examples, with a short (6.5") bracelet, whose gold plating is tarnished and flaking. He's also fitted it with a non-original replacement stainless pusher @ 10 o'clock, which he doesn't actually mention in his description, other than giving the crown / pushers a rating of 7/10.

This one wasn't so difficult to track down (again using the Buyee ending soon notification). It was listed as a 6-day auction in the first week of November last year. There hadn't been much interest shown by the bidding at that stage.

As you can see from the above screen print it sold for ¥40,500 Yen, after 27 bids, equivalent to approx. $256.38 at the prevailing exchange rate, compared to the greedily marked-up $999.95 that he's now asking.

In the early hours of this morning, greedy profiteering US eBay re-seller rtm127 (a.k.a. Ryan Marucheau of 'Watch and Jewelry Exchange') listed another ridiculously over-priced JDM 7A38, which naturally came from his usual source, Yahoo Japan auctions. This time it's an average condition titanium 7A38-7030, which he ranks as being 7.5 overall (Excellent to Very Good by his standards). He's asking a typically greedily marked-up $1499.95.

There have been a few titanium 7A38-7030 SJS018's listed on Yahoo Japan this year (more than any other JDM variant), but even without a serial number (Ryan has stopped bothering to obscure them) it wouldn't be difficult to identify this particular example by the small ding in the L.H. side of the watch case. Note also the badly faded CHRONOGRAPH dial script (which would originally have been red).

It was a 3-day auction in the third week of February, with an opening bid price of ¥1000 Yen. It sold for ¥60,600 Yen after 20 bids. That's equivalent to $405.92 at the prevailing exchange rate, rather less than he's currently asking.

Apart from the obvious deterrent of his price, one thing I'd be wary of is Ryan's claim that it will fit a 7" wrist. He may be stretching the truth a little (pun intended). Like so many watches sourced from Japan, this one is typically short of bracelet adjustment links ....

It may have taken nearly 11 months, but it looks like profiteering US eBay re-seller rtm127 has eventually found a mug punter buyer for his grossly overpriced 7A38-7030. Why anyone in their right mind would want to pay $1500 for such an example, when they can be found on Yahoo Japan for a third of the price (as indeed this one was) is totally beyond me.
