Seiko7A38 wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 8:44 am At the moment, it looks as if he's planning to use it to sell off his remaining stock in trade. Currently he has only listed a total of 6 items (but they're all job lots).
Those first six items listed on eBay by Marc Meltzer, using his 'new' ID, marcscoolstuff have increased to 35 overnight. There's all the usual junk costume jewellery and lower value gemstones, with a few more watches. Again, he's mostly listing the jewellery in lots, rather than individually, presumably in an effort to offload. The same applied to the next batch of three non-working Seiko 7Axx's that he listed yesterday evening, with a typically risible asking price of $600:

All three are fairly well worn and head only. There's a JDM 7A28-7040, which he describes as 'one missing a pusher'. It's actually missing the crown; a 7A28-7049 and another (non-working) 7A38-7080, which had me scratching my head for a moment. Then I realized this must be the same one he previously sold for $187.50 on November 14th last year (as item # 185717081779), but then evidently never bothered to ship, resulting in the disgruntled buyer leaving him a scathing negative feedback (see about halfway down the previous page).

He's still listing higher value items singly, such as his NOS 7A48-7010, which he's now asking $1000 for as a Buy-it-Now:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286054459612

The saga of that one goes back to February 2022 (see page 4 for the full story). He initially tried asking an utterly ludicrous $5000 for it as a Buy-it-Now. He actually paid the US eBay seller $525 for it. See screen prints below.

Although not really encompassed by the scope of this forum, yesterday evening MM also listed individually, one after another, a total of six Seiko 7L22 Kinetics (Coutura and Sportura models), with prices varying between $250 and $850.
I suspect these will be a hard sell, because they're not particularly popular.

That said, Marc Meltzer made his first successful sale on eBay using his 'new' ID marcscoolstuff yesterday evening - and it was a watch, rather than junk jewellery - though not a Seiko. It was this TAG Heuer Formula 1 CAH1111 chronograph.
It sold fairly quickly for an undisclosed best offer, against his Buy-it-Now price of $800.

You may have noticed that all these new listings have San Diego, California as the item location. I'd posted this at the bottom of a post on the previous page on 1st January:
Seiko7A38 wrote: Mon Jan 01, 2024 12:29 pmSomething else I noticed in that listing (also reflected in his 10 current remaining listings) is that the item location has changed again to San Diego, California. Perhaps he's contemplating 'doing a runner'.

Seiko7A38 wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 8:16 am Devious self-styled 'entrepreneur' Marc Meltzer is back on eBay again, less than six months after his primary eBay ID millauctionhouse (formerly Meltzer Trading) with a feedback of over 13,000, was banned for multiple infringements.
I can't say I'm surprised to see him return, given his limited success offloading his remaining stock on other platforms such as Etsy and Poshmark. Incidentally, I forgot to mention he also has a Shopify based website: Marcscoolstuff.com

He's using the same new eBay handle as on Poshmark and his website - marcscoolstuff, which is what gave him away.
I was wondering how MM had planned to promote his website. Transpires that he'd also created an Instagram account.
No surprises for guessing the username - once again it's marcscoolstuff: https://www.instagram.com/marcscoolstuff/

Note the byline: Travelling the country giving away/selling jewelry. That probably explains how he's managed to amass a fairly impressive 3161 followers since April. He's made 111 posts, nearly all videos (reels) a good number of which are blatant plugs for his website. A few of them however give an insight into Marc Meltzer's current lifestyle, revealing the unkempt scruffy beach bum that he's become. See examples like: https://www.instagram.com/p/C5yxwtCPAwu/

https://www.instagram.com/p/C7E6uWlJcq7/

Image

https://www.instagram.com/p/C6G_QSrOOqb/

Image

His unkempt appearance can probably be best explained by the fact that he's living and sleeping (and presumably running what's left of his business) in his car - a Toyota 4Runner. This is no motorhome, but a 14 foot long SUV !

https://www.instagram.com/p/C6of-1zRc2P/

Image

Incidentally, that blue striped blanket is used as a backdrop for a number of his jewellery photos, for example:

https://www.instagram.com/p/C6tx4e7xnwi/

Image

That particular image was the basis for his previous briefly used eBay profile avatar (See screen prints on the previous page). Many of the Instagram photos and reels, where he's displaying jewellery are taken in a local park or at the beach. Presumably he must be renting a storage unit where he's keeping the bulk of his stock in trade. There can't be enough room for it under his bed.

Unfortunately I was more preoccupied with the 7A38's he'd just started listing and didn't realize the significance of it at the time, so didn't think to right-click and save it.
One last Instagram post (in fact MM's very first, made on 10th April this year) caught my eye and raised a knowing smile.

It's that wrist shot of a 7A48-7000 (or -7009) taken behind the wheel of a Corvette. It's an older photo, dating back to late 2021. I remember he briefly used this image as his eBay profile avatar (as meltzertrading), before he started using vintage postcards of castles. See quote above. Note when asked the price of the watch, he replied $600. Typical MM. Undoubtedly the Corvette is long gone - if it ever was his in the first place.

Overnight MM listed another 90-odd items, bringing his current total number of listings to 128. The increased quantity is partly due to his having reverted to listing items individually, rather than in job lots, as he'd done on the first two days. Last night's newly listed items generally comprise mid-range junk jewellery and mostly cheaper watches, including quite a few more Seikos (now totalling 36) of which three were 7Axx's. (One of those may possibly have been listed in error).

I say that because this particular 7A28-7049, fitted with a rubber 'rally' strap, which he's asking a laughable $500 for, here, is already included in a job lot of three 7Axx's that he listed on the first day, as his second listing. See previous page (item # 286052911197, where he's asking $1200).

Immediately after that he listed his other used 7A48-7010, which he's now asking $400 for, despite stating that it's suffering from a recalcitrant sweep second hand and needs a service:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286055907275

I was expecting MM to list a few more of his 7A48-7000 / -7009's last night. He currently had 3 listed (in two job lots), which meant there must be at least another 6 or 7 still remaining. But he only listed this one, a 7A48-7009, fitted with a non-original (Speidel) replacement bracelet, which he's currently asking 'only' $300 for:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286056102215

The photos he's (re)using are the same as he was using at the end of last year - and in some cases date back much earlier. Purely out of curiosity I thought I'd look this one up on the spreadsheet, I'd been maintaining to track MM's re-listing antics. In case you can't quite make it out from the photos, the case-back serial number is 5O4664. Trust me. ;)

He first listed this watch in December 2021, when he was asking a ludicrous $1000 (after a 60% pseudo-discount). He subsequently re-listed 7 times, finally reducing it to $300 (with 25% discount applied), before ending it (with all his other listings on 31st December 2023. The amusing thing is that he foolishly paid another US seller $403 for it !!

PS - Did anyone else spot the error on that listing ? Note the item location: Cherry Hill, New Jersey (where MM once lived) rather than San Diego, California. Makes one wonder where he's actually keeping his stuff, after his last 'runner'. Perhaps he's making a trip back home to collect the rest of his stuff, because this away message has since appeared at the top of all his listings. Seems a strange move to take a vacation, when you're already living by the beach. :P

Doesn't bode well, for anybody foolhardy enough to buy anything while he's away, especially remembering the unacceptable delays in shipping, cited by so many of MM's previous disgruntled customers (as millauctionhouse).

On a lighter note, at the risk of replicating an earlier post from January 2022, I couldn't resist commenting on this once again. This morning I had a quick browse through through the other 'lower end' Seiko's (ranging in price from $300 down to $50), that MM listed last night. I find it incredulous that he actually had the gall to re-list this non-working A194-5010 with a broken screen and broken bracelet and still ask $50 for what is, in reality, no better than scrap.

Here's what I wrote about it previously (at the bottom of page 3):
Seiko7A38 wrote: Sun Jan 23, 2022 11:11 amI thought about mentioning this one earlier. Slightly off topic I concede, but it would be remiss of me not to do so. :P MM first listed this knackered A914-5010 LCD on 14th January with a typically ludicrous Buy-it-Now price of $200. He's since screwed around with the price three times already (see screen print of the revision history below), but with the application of his latest contrived 50% sale discount, it's currently down to $100.

The current average worldwide scrap value of 316L stainless steel is approx £1.50 / €1.60 / $2.00 US per kilogram. Assuming the watch weighs approx. 100g, less glass and movement, perhaps a more realistic value would be $10 !!

He's currently listing 991 items. All the usual junk jewellery, etc.. I did a quick check on his 7A48's. Not only is he listing the 2 job lots that he'd listed on eBay, but he's also listing the other remaining 11 unsold 7A48's individually. As you can see from the screen shot, he's reverted to his old tactic of false discounting. All of the prices are supposedly 50% off.

That away message is utter bnllsh!t. :!: MM is apparently using it as some sort of delaying tactic, because over the last four days, he's added another 34 listings (more junk jewellery and job lots of watches), bringing his current total to 194. Marc Meltzer's seemingly fraudulent eBay 'away' message expired last night, but not before he'd added another two dozen listings for junk jewellery. This brings his current total number of listings to 227. (eBay incorrectly shows 221).

There's still no sign of him listing his other unsold 7A48-7000 / -7009's on eBay, but last night, for reasons best known to himself, MM ended (allegedly because of an error) and re-listed the job lot of two non-working 7A48-7000's that he first listed on 10th September (see bottom of previous page). Ah. I see what he's done now. The previous (now ended) listing was a Buy-it-Now (for $300). The re-listing is a 7-day auction with an opening bid price of $300. Fairly pointless !

Looks like MM is sliding back into his old ways again. According to eBay, he's managed to sell a total of 4 items, but has already picked up his first negative feedback, reducing his current feedback percentage down to 80%. :!: I hadn't spotted it previously, but it turns out that he'd managed to snare a mug punter buyer for that 7A48-7009, fitted with non-original (Speidel) bracelet. The listing hasn't been ended properly and typically shows as just 'item out of stock'.

I'm not sure what prompted me, but I decided to check on that listing for the 7A48-7009 fitted with non-original Speidel bracelet. I was surprised to find that MM had actually ended the listing last night, correctly as item no longer available.

I'd been keeping tabs on MM's activities and over the weekend, the total number of items he'd listed on eBay had crept up to around the 250 mark. I was going to post the latest number this morning. I was shocked to find there weren't any. Starting around 6:27 pm yesterday evening, he ended ALL his eBay listings as 'item no longer available'.

His eBay profile now displays the 'We are sold out' banner. According to eBay, he managed to sell a total of 5 items, as his re-invented alter ego marcscoolstuff, before falling on his sword, presumably to avoid another impending ban.
