God damn the Pusher Man !

Post by Seiko7A38 »

I really should be concentrating on finishing off a few other topics I've already started prior to this forum going live.
But what the heck. :P

I don't think I'd previously mentioned this on the old forum, but in the last week of November, forum member Mithra, a.k.a. UK eBay seller exwharf, had listed three NOS 7Axx stainless pushers as '7A28 / 7A38', but without stating any Seiko part number for them, or which models they were suitable for.

7a28 7a38 and others steel pushers with springs, new unused

The part number 81400669 shown on the ziplock packet was indeed for the circlips. So your guess as to which models these pushers are used on is as good as mine. Or possibly not. 8-) He was also also asking a whopping £30 quid apiece for them - almost double the normal selling price, so I was rather surprised, when I looked at the listing again this morning, to see he'd actually managed to sell two of them !! :o

What reminded me of that slightly random listing, was another rather strange one which appeared overnight, listed by a US eBay seller. It's a 7-day auction for a NOS 7A38-706A stainless pusher button, with an opening bid price of $4.95.

New old stock pusher button for a seiko 7a38-706a watch. Part number is 80600509

The part number quoted is correct for a 7A38-706A (and the stainless 7A38-7060 amongst other models), but there's no photo of the actual pusher. Instead there's a hand-written advice note from an unidentified supplier, that in the header above the red ball-point writing states: These Items are temporarily out of stock, and will be shipped ASAP !

Checking my eBay watching page, I note with mild bemusement, that after a number of identical re-listings, somebody got impatient and took a flyer in the early hours of this morning !
