Re: My Dad's 7A28-7020 reappears!
I'll pass on this one, to be honest! While my Dad had a better tolerance for bling that I ever did, his 7A48 was a bit much even for him. He rarely wore it, and when the link between the bracelet and the case broke, it got relegated to a drawer. So upon inheriting this watch, I felt no great attachm...

My Dad's 7A28-7020 reappears!
In another thread I told the story of how I got my first analog chronograph, a 7A38-7000. My parents and I were on a day out shopping in Nice, and my Dad fell in love with these brand new Seiko chronographs that were proudly being displayed in a shop window. He went in and bought himself one on the ...

Re: The ONE and ONLY WRUW thread - Part Deux !
Look who's back! https://photos.smugmug.com/Watches/i-Tpsrr8F/0/3fc5f92c/X2/IMG_1966-X2.jpg Thank you Paul for making this miracle happen. I feel just like I did when, alongside my dad, I first exited the shop with this marvel on my wrist. I believe it was in 1984. My father had bought another 7A38 ...

Re: How difficult is it to find spare links for a 7A38 chrono?
Well, given that it will obviously be difficult to source these links without being at the mercy of the likes of Giuseppe, I'll take you up on your offer for a clasp extender. At least it will allow me to give some wrist love to my chronograph.

Re: How difficult is it to find spare links for a 7A38 chrono?
The clasp extender was actually my first idea. I have used these things on a few others of my watches, including a vintage Omega Speedmaster, in the past and they work reasonably well. As far as dear Giuseppe is concerned, his listing makes obvious the fact that he's looking for a transaction off eB...

Re: How difficult is it to find spare links for a 7A38 chrono?
You're making me doubt now. After all, I haven't seen this chronograph in almost a decade, but I remember pretty clearly having trouble getting the clasp closed. But describing me as a "big lad" is a bit too kind. I'm in serious need of a healthier lifestyle! As a result, I have a 21...

How difficult is it to find spare links for a 7A38 chrono?
With the imminent return of my 7A38-7000 chronograph (for which I have to warmly thank our host) comes the question of how on earth I'll be able to wear it. This watch was given to me when I was 15, and at now 52 my wrist has acquired more girth than its earlier incarnation in my teenage years. Even...

Re: Who dreams up these stupid nicknames ?
I have another worthy candidate for the title of Seiko's 'Royal Oak'...
Amusingly enough, I actually own this watch, which I inherited from my dad.
