Just wondering if anybody on here managed to grab one of these. Listed by an Italian eBay seller - most with a very reasonable Buy-it-Now price of 250 Euros.

The seller appears to have re-listed them a dozen times (twice more after I took the screen prints):

I bought one for a Japanese buddy (the Italian seller wouldn't ship to Japan  )

Definitely genuine NOS condition (but not original packaging).

I've been eying that one. But what kept me back, is seeing it with same pics and different prices from at least one other seller.
Yours did arrive? I should seriously consider buying one then.

Looks great.

Yes - next day (took less than 24 hours to my door in UK from Venice, Italy by DHL Express). I opened it, took a photo; packed it up again and shipped it off to my buddy in Japan. Looks like it may be delivered to him tomorrow.

I know Phil (Supermoto) bought one as well (the next one listed), and his arrived on Saturday.

Although the Italian seller re-listed it 12 times, I'm trying to work out how many he actually had. I know two of the sales were not completed, because those were when my Japanese buddy tried to buy them and the Italian seller wouldn't ship to Japan.

Hence my question:
Just wondering if anybody on here managed to grab one of these.
As the seller hasn't re-listed them for 48 hours I suspect he may now be sold out. :(

I would have bought one I think - eBay and PayPal should protect the buyer.

That's 3 accounted for (versus 12 listings)

To answer my own question, it looks like Italian Seiko collector Itau (Luigino) got one as well.
He posted this on the Italian Kronos watch forum a couple of days ago.

Generic 'tin can' packaging is obviously the same as the one which passed through my hands on Friday last week, on its way back to Japan.

Talk about blatant profiteering !!

As the seller hasn't re-listed them for 48 hours I suspect he may now be sold out. :(
Well maybe he wasn't quite sold out, because the Italian eBay seller albysurf1995 listed one more 7A28-7A00 SBBJ005 yesterday, with a slightly increased Buy-it-Now price of 260 Euros. Still pretty reasonable. It sold within a few hours.

I was wondering when the profiteering re-sellers were going jump on the bandwagon and pick one of these up. It was just a matter of time - and it didn't take very long. Also listed yesterday - by one of the worst of the bunch, another Italian eBay seller, oldantiquestyle a.k.a. Alberto Ulmi (who has gone by a variety of eBay usernames in the past, including goffre78 and valentinasex) ....

A NOS 7A28-7A00 SBBJ005 - Yours for a mere $2500 if you're daft enough ! :eek:hmy:

Oddly enough, it comes in the same generic (non-Seiko) 'tin can' packaging. :p

So now we know someone else who bought one.

Obviously following suit. I doubt either of those will sell at anything like those asking prices*. But I bet he's kicking himself now for having let 10 plus (or however many he actually sold) go for around 250 Euros. Sorry you missed the last one (@ 260 Euros). :(

*Highest I've recorded is a NOS SBBJ007 selling for $950 as a best offer (vs $2000 BIN) in July 2013.

Those are not priced like the original issued ones. Like the reissues of the 6105 being put out by the Chinese this could be termed an homage. Make sure you have done your due diligence before pulling the trigger and be sure you know what you are getting before you buy. If you like the look of the watch and you are 100% sure what is inside of the case for the price then cool. If you are looking for an investment then question the seller until you are satisfied with what you are getting for your money !

Is this meant to be a serious post, or is it a poor attempt at trolling ?

I can assure you that they were genuine 30 year old NOS originals. I myself had the opportunity to examine one and I think I know enough about Seiko 7Axx’s to be able to distinguish between the real deal and a cheap Chinese made fake. You may have missed this, but I wrote at the bottom of my first post:

Definitely genuine NOS condition (but not original packaging).
Had you bothered reading the subsequent posts properly, then you might have picked up on the fact that Italian Seiko collector Itau also purchased one.

Speaking of due diligence, may I recommend that in future, you familiarize yourself with the model in question first, before dismissing something as a fake, just because the seller has a load of them and had unwittingly priced them somewhat cheaper than the usual market price for a desirable collectable Seiko. That way, you might actually come across as the ‘master’ you claim to be, rather than an uninformed novice.

Your ironic use of the term ‘an homage’ gave me a laugh too – I presume you’re unaware that there was a batch of homages to this watch produced recently. Cased in China too. The SCED053 and SCED055 reissues were released by Seiko in November 2016 to celebrate their 30 year association with Giugiaro.

Both versions were retail priced @ 35,000 Yen + 8% Japanese Sales Tax - Limited edition of 1500 pieces each.
Which means that Italian eBay seller was selling his genuine NOS originals for less than the price of a reissue.

This week there was another one posted by the same seller for 250 euro, you send me an pm about that one. We spoke about it, and when I wanted to buy it , it was gone.
Now the same seller relisted the same watch again, but now for a buy it now of 2500 dollar. I still have serious doubts about this seller

Hi, Peter.

I think you're getting confused - as Mark possibly was earlier, when he wrote this:

But what kept me back, is seeing it with same pics and different prices from at least one other seller.
(At that time only Italian eBay seller albysurf1995 was listing them, AFAIK).

The one that's up on eBay with a Buy-it-Now for $2500 is listed by oldantiquestyle (Alberto Ulmi - a.k.a. Goffre78, etc., etc.). Going by the same 'tin can' packaging, he obviously bought it from albysurf1995 (coincidentally also named Alberto) and is looking to make a fat profit.

Albysurf1995 has since wised up and increased his prices accordingly. He now has one up as a 5-day auction with an opening bid price of $1500 - per Mark's post #12

I just checked his listings, no more cheap ones from the original seller as well :(

Nope there was at least 1 other seller, different name, same pictures. I tried searching them in completed listings, but I think they were removed as fraudulent.

Just to confirm what I wrote above ....

(At that time only Italian eBay seller albysurf1995 was listing them, AFAIK).
This search on 7A28-7A00 on completed listings on eBay Italy - which theoretically shows 90 day history (as opposed to a search on the seller's recently ended listings, which only gives the last 15 days) shows that there had been 13 NOS 7A28-7A00 SBBJ005 listed between 24th October and 15th November - all by seller albysurf1995.

https://www.ebay.it/sch/i.html?_sac...1&_ipg=50&_nkw=7a28-7A00&LH_PrefLoc=2&_sop=13

Sorry, Mark. I was searching / composing while you were posting.
