NOT TAGS - CARRERA watches : 2 more !

I bought a CARRERA Sprint auto recently (I was looking for a Nautilus homage)
https://www.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=297161

and I'm really pleased with the watch :-!

CARRERA is a fashion brand (sunglasses, clothes... remember Don Johnson in Miami Vice ? ;-) )

So when I saw this offer, I jumped on it : I just the two other models I was looking for :

Gold case w/black leather

(not my pic)

Silver dial w/brown leather

(not my pic)

less than €50 each.

 I don't know if I'm extatic because it's not expensive anymore, or if I should be pissed for having paid nearly 150€ for the first one :-d

Indeed. I had to check more than once o_O They were previously priced around 150€
It was a "flash promo"… just couldn't pass the deal :-x

I like them. Congrats and enjoy!
Thanks IcedOut :)

The gold one looks great, well they both do but a little bling is allways nice b-) Looking forward to pics :-!
:-d Thx Jocke ! Yes, bling is what is up with these watches b-)
Plus they're really HUGE :-d

Very nice Reno, congrats :-!

What's under the hood?

Cheers,
Griff
Hey Griff, thanks :)

I suppose it's a good old ST16  (my technical skills being so poor, I couldn't swear)

Those look great! And a great deal, on a functional watch with a great movement. Not to mention Carrera brand does quite well here in the US.

Yeah, same sort of thing happened with Technomarine...

I really didn't know this brand ! I had to do a bit of research to find out what it was :-d
Of course, when one Googles "Carrera watches", guess what kind of responses one gets ? ;-) loooooooots of TAGs !

But they're really fine watches, with a great presence on the wrist :

For a while one of the designers for Ventura watches designed a piece or three for Carrerra. The name Hans Wettestein seems to ring a bell but cant be certain since it has been a while. He is or was one of the Bauhaus dial guys who likes the minimalist design as evidenced by the Ventura and Xemex looks.

The pieces I have designed by him are in the Speedtime series. Nice autos with the intergrated bracelet on stainless finish with the smoothe transition and rounded edges all around. sort of aerodynamic as the speedtime name might suggest.

Glad you like'em. The leather bands are pretty cool, so are the buckles. Really interesting line.

Hi everyone,

First of all, my apologies if I am not replying under the right thread coz I am new here.
I really need your help please. I bought a Carrera watch in 2008 and I really love this watch. I have gotten many compliments. Nevertheless, the 1.5 inch watch band is getting worn out and I need to replace it. The outer part looks find but the inner side of the band is terrible. I bought the watch in Indonesia in 2008 and now Carrera watches are no longer available here. Can someone please kindly tell me where and how can I replace my watch band? Thank you so much. (See pic)

That style of strap is called a Bund. Plenty of them available - just google "buy bund strap" and you'll find plenty of sellers. If I was at my computer I'd link you some. .
You'll need to measure the width between the watch lugs in millimeters to know the size, and also measure the width at the buckle to make sure you can re-use the buckle.

Hi tttny, and welcome to WUS :)

Unfortunately, CARRERA watches are becoming scarce for a few months now…

The straps have always been very hard to find as spare, and CARRERA never answered my mails :-(

I reckon your best luck is to look on ebay…

A custom strap might be the best solution
