Shaw’s Landing is a roadside restaurant found on the way to Peggy’s Cove. It offers delicious fare at a reasonable price along with a beautiful view of the lobster fishing community of West Dover. The restaurant was established by Ian Shaw of Scotland circa 1999. Mr. Shaw had lost his daughter, Stephanie, in the Swissair Flight 111 disaster on September 2, 1998. Mr. Shaw resided in the area until 2008 whereupon he sold the restaurant to former employees and retired to Spain.

On the day that we visited, it was a bit cold, and the owners wanted us to sit outside. Too cold, as they don't have propane heaters, so we crowded inside. The food was not as good as I remember from a few years ago, just average.

We regularly visit this restaurant. Their fish and chips are excellent. They use locally caught fresh haddock (not frozen). My wife loves the lobster grilled cheese. It's good 'down home' cooking rather than fine dining.
The place is a bit rustic but West Dover is lovely and lunch on the outside deck on a sunny summer day is as good as it gets.

We had seafood chowder, fish and chips! Service was excellent. Our food came quickly in spite of how busy the restaurant was. Delicious!

We stopped by this place for lunch and had some of the most amazing tasting lobster rolls and lobster sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. It was very fresh and so good! Also the service was great and the atmosphere very friendly and authentic. Definitely would recommend!
